Chapter 2

Penulis: Choco Cookie
I impatiently cut her off, "Enough, let's not waste time. Let's go inside."

During these seven years, I've encountered Lucia Sandwood many times. She's not nearly as innocent and pitiable as she appears. How could a woman who has survived in the entertainment industry for ten years be so simple?

So I couldn't be bothered to watch her performance and walked straight inside.

To my surprise, she followed me in.

When I saw her eyes fixed intensely on the divorce agreement, I finally understood she was here to supervise.

In our previous divorces, Marcus had always written that he would leave with nothing, to give me a sense of security.

But this time, it stated that I would leave with nothing.

Marcus told me that any changes to his assets would affect his company that was preparing to go public.

I didn't sign because I believed him, but because I no longer had the energy to argue with him.

After getting the certificate, I stood at the entrance waiting for a taxi.

Marcus ran over and grabbed my hand, “How long will you stay with your parents? Give me the address, I'll bring some gifts and visit."

I replied coldly, "That's unnecessary."

He seemed to sense I was truly different this time, and his grip on my hand unconsciously tightened.

He asked uncertainly, "Georgina, you will remarry me, right?"

Just then, Lucia walked over, looking anxious, "Marcus, my son has a fever. What should I do?"

I pulled my hand away and said to them, "I hope your filming goes well."

Then I got into the taxi.

As the car started moving, my tears began flowing uncontrollably.

Looking at the familiar divorce certificate in my hand, my heart felt like it was being pierced by needles.

Back then, I had plunged headfirst into the whirlpool of his love, leaving myself no way out.

My college roommate had warned me, “Remarrying a divorced man isn't always reliable. Don't be so foolish to believe everything."

But I had strongly defended him, "My Marcus is different from others. He truly loves me."

"I know you'll say a successful man like him must have many women around him. It's okay, I'm prepared. I've told him that I'll understand if he has casual flings outside, as long as I'm in his heart, I'll forgive him. I'm committed to him for life!"

Unexpectedly, I spent seven years of my youth only to end up with a shattered heart.

After getting out of the taxi, I walked straight into my parents' luxurious villa.

As soon as I pushed open the gate, my mom came forward with a smile, mysteriously asking me to close my eyes.

I obediently closed my eyes and let her lead me forward.

"Okay, you can open them now."

Before me was a Ferrari, and standing beside it were my good friend Henry and my dad.

Dad smiled and said, "My dear daughter, I was going to give you this gift, but Henry insisted on surprising you himself, so I got you this instead."

He pulled out a sapphire necklace from behind his back, as if performing a magic trick.

I had seen this necklace in the news just two days ago. It was said to have been bought by a mysterious person for an astronomical price of over 100 million.

I never expected it to be a surprise from my dad.

My eyes welled up with tears again. Looking at the three people smiling at me, I felt an indescribable pain in my heart.

Perhaps everything was arranged by fate. As I lost love, family and friendship filled the void in my broken heart.

We had lunch together, then Henry returned to his company for some business.

Mom sat with me on the sofa for a private chat.

"My dear, I notice Henry seems quite attentive to you. Your father says he has good character and his own career. Since you're divorced now, why not consider him?"

I laughed out loud, "Mom, stop trying to play matchmaker. He’s not straight.”

My mom gave a mysterious smile and said nothing more.

The next day, I drove my new car, feeling overwhelmed with emotion.

When I first got together with Marcus, his company was just starting out and wasn't very big yet.

Understanding his struggles, I never let him buy me expensive gifts or spend money on me.

After graduating from college, I married him and went straight to work at his company, helping him with everything from meeting clients to being his assistant and taking care of all his needs.

The more I understood his hardships, the less willing I was to spend money on myself. He once offered to buy me a car, but I refused without even thinking about it.

"Marcus, please stop bothering me.""I've already married Henry."We had just left the courthouse after getting our marriage license. After the banquet ended last night, Henry told me what I had said when I blacked out from drinking."Henry, why did you lie to me about not being interested in women?""Because that was the only way I could stay by your side and protect you. If I had told you I'd had feelings for you since we were children, while you were so in love with Marcus, you would have certainly cut ties with me."My eyes instantly welled up, "So you waited for me all these years, and let me misunderstand you for so long?""It must have been so painful for you to watch me being affectionate with Marcus all that time."I truly understood that bitter feeling, having walked a similar path myself.Suddenly, I remembered when I first arrived at the orphanage as a child. I was only five, and Henry was already ten.I suffered from PTSD, having nightmares and being afraid to sl

Two months later, Marcus's company was just one step away from going public. Full of joy, he bought various trending topics to build anticipation.Lucia's reality show was about to air, and the trailer had already been released. That day, I reserved a private room at a luxury restaurant. Henry helped bring my parents along. My father asked suspiciously, "What are you two up to, being so mysterious?"I smiled cheerfully, "Mom, Dad, we want you to enjoy lobster while watching a good show."I turned on the television in the room and cast from my phone. Then I clicked on the top trending topic.[The Real Homewrecker is Lucia! Lucia really knew how to play her cards well. Now that the person who lost the money wasn't pursuing the matter, I had no reason to call the police.I couldn't be bothered to argue with them anymore. I went upstairs, had Marcus process my resignation paperwork, and then left with Henry. On the way, Henry asked me, "Do you want me to terminate all our partnerships with them?"I shook my head, "Help me investigate the biological relationship between Morris and Marcus. If they're not related, I'll consider it my final act of mercy toward him. If they are, then wait for my signal.""Okay.""By the way, do you still stand by what you said last night?"I looked at him suspiciously, "What? What did I say?""You really don't remember anything?"Seeing my completely confused expression, his face turned melancholy, but he didn't say anything more.Three days later, Henry came to see me with a report.Although I had mentally prepared myself, my hands still trembled as I opened it.When

My fists clenched involuntarily again.Lucia approached with a smile to greet me."What a coincidence that Georgina is here too. I brought my son to discuss the filming content with Marcus."Morris clung to Marcus's leg, looking at me timidly, "Daddy, I'm scared of this lady. Can you make her leave?"Marcus coughed awkwardly and explained to me, “He only calls me that because of the show's requirements. Don't misunderstand."By the way, since Lucia and her son are both here, why don't you apologize to them?"I glared at him with a cold smile, "I won't! She's the one who keeps seducing my husband. If anyone should apologize, it's her!"Marcus looked displeased, "Do you have to make everything so complicated?"Unexpectedly, Lucia grabbed Marcus's arm, "It's okay. If she doesn't want to apologize, it's not a big deal."Then she walked to my car and began stroking it admiringly."Marcus, you know about your loving husband image in the media. Could I borrow this car? We could tell

"Marcus, I've known you for so many years. I never imagined you could be this stupid!"If I'd known it would be like this, all the feelings I've invested would have been better off thrown to the dogs!"Marcus sighed on the other end."Georgina, don't say things out of anger. As long as you're willing to return the car and apologize to me and Lucia, I'll treat you the same as before.”I cried out in surprise, ”What? Who does she think she is? Why should I apologize to her?""Georgina, please stop making trouble, okay? Do you know how embarrassed she was when you suddenly showed up yesterday? If she hadn't quickly made up that story, the fact that you and I were married would have been exposed. Then she would have been criticized for breaking up someone's family. Do you know how important reputation is for a celebrity?"And your behavior yesterday made Morris cry. You need to take responsibility. Be good and come apologize to them."Furious, I shouted into the phone, "She's afraid
