Luna

In a wide and spacious room that had chairs around a wide table, the atmosphere was tense as Hunter stared at the elders with curiosity in his eyes. There were about nine of them. He knew they were only there to nag him about something and nothing more. The way their eyes were sparkling with unspoken words was the way his ears were going to hurt from their complaints.

"What is it this time? I hope they are not here to remind me of the need to either seek for my true mate or look for my second mate?" Hunter silently clinched his jaw in irritation.

How could he look for a second mate when he didn't even reject the first one, even though she'd practically begged him before running away, but he'd refused. He was sure he still loved her then. That was probably the reason why he didn't reject her. Part of him was selfishly hoping that she would remain by his side even though he'd done those awful things to her.

"Your highness, it's been three months already since the news about the sudden movement of the beast spread throughout the entire kingdom." One of the elders suddenly spoke up.

"And so? What are you insinuating, elder Richmond?" Hunter looked at the man whose head had been covered with gray hair and asked with his brows furrowed. In fact, all of them were like that. All these elders weren't people to be taken lightly as each of them had different powers. They were like guardians of the land.

"We suggest that you meet the great seer, Marilyn. It's true that she did pass most of her powers to her daughter because of her health due to the loss of her son, which shook her greatly, but she still has some of them." Another elder spoke up.

"I'm still lost, Elder Sun. Why did you elders want me to meet her?" Hunter quirked his brows up.

"Hmm..." Elder Silas cleared his throat, before speaking. "Your highness, it's true that you and her highness didn't part on good terms, but we need her right now. And we can only find her with the help of her mother's power. That's why you've to meet Marilyn yourself, your highness."

"Oh." Hunter wasn't expecting that. He didn't know how to face his mate's mother, that's why he hadn't visited her and asked her for help. Not that he wanted to get back with his mate or apologize to her, but he needed to see her in order to be able to finally reject her and try locating her second chance mat if there's any. This is all because the moon goddess mandated werewolves to only give birth together with their true mate.

"We know you don't want to see her. But you have to reconsider our proposal, your highness. When you see her, you can reject her properly so you can find your second mate. It's like killing two birds with one stone. As the alpha king, you need an heir", Elder Anders concluded.

Hunter smiled within himself, obviously satisfied with their proposal. "But the issue is, how do I convince my mate's mother?" he looked at the elders with dread in his eyes. The others swallowed hard too. They knew that convincing that woman would be a piece of work.

"hmm… it's up to you, your highness. We, your subjects, have already suggested a means of averting the imminent doom that's about to befall the kingdom and, as our king, you've to try every possible means to save the kingdom." Elder Collins said.

And after saying this, they all stood up and bowed slightly before exiting the room.

"You people just want to save your asses." Hunter gritted his teeth before mind-linking his beta.

"Your highness?" Maverick walked into the room and bowed slightly.

"Find out where my mate's mother is. We need to pay her a visit," Hunter commanded, before leaving the room.

"Are you ready to meet her now?" Maverick rushed after him, slightly taken aback by the declaration from the king.

"What do I do? I have no choice, since those old fools think its best I meet her myself." Hunter suddenly paused and looked back at Maverick, whose body tensed up immediately. "You know that we need my mate in other to determine what's going on with the beast right?"

"I know" Maverick nodded.

"That's why we are meeting the mother. She can help us to locate her faster."

"Are you going to reject her?" Maverick couldn't help but ask.

"Isn't that what she wants too?" Hunter spat coldly as he increased his pace, leaving his beta perplexed.

On a beach, a young lady laid on a lounging chair. She was Nora Wyatt, the runaway Luna.

She was relaxing after swimming. Her pink and white striped bikini looked so sexy on her, her milk-white skin glowing in the morning sun.  On her head was a wide brimmed hat that shielded her from the sun and her black sunshade finished the work. She looked so elegant and classy and anybody that came across her would know that she doesn't give a damn about the world and its bullshit.

To her, every day of her life is another chance to enjoy herself to the fullest as she tours around the world. She's the total definition of cruise. She believes that nothing on earth can give her more happiness than living every day as if it was her last. She has given up the will to fight for other things that clearly don't make sense to her. Is it money, men and luxury? She has all of it within the tip of her finger. So why else would she bother wasting her time over some useless fool that isn't worth a strand of the hair on her head?

Yes, when fate decided to throw a hard assignment at her, knowing the type of person she was, she also threw fate a punch in the gut by choosing the easiest way out.

"Ah, be gentle." Nora suddenly twitched, sending Hilton a warning glare.

"Sorry, my queen." Hilton looked up at her and apologized, reducing the pressure as he massaged her legs.

"Oh, I love that, Mike." she tilted her neck to the side and appreciated the man that was behind her back, as he massaged her neck.

Hilton threw Mike a jealous look while the other smirked in return.

"You know, I have been to so many places in the world. I have been to almost all parts of the world. I have been to the USA, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia...." Nora began.

"Where else should I visit next?"

"Where exactly are you from, my queen?" Mike asked.

"Uhm... where do I come from? Where do I come from? Where do I come from?"

The two men exchanged a weird look, obviously confused.

"I'm from a place that you wouldn't believe exists. Somewhere far in the north, south, west and east?"

(...)

"Anyway, you wouldn't know, so there is no need to ask. But just know that your queen is from a kingdom that you wouldn't believe still exists amongst humans"

"Luna!!!"

"Oh fuck! How did they manage to locate me again? I thought I covered my tracks very well." Nora cursed, as she tilted her head to the side and saw five men that were excitedly rushing over to her. She shrugged the hands on her body away as she quickly stood up and took to her heels while holding onto her hat tight so it wouldn't fall off her head.

Her men that were abandoned didn't know what to do as they were lost for words. They just stood in place, staring at their queen, who was running back and forth.
