Chapter Twenty Two

LANDON

“Daisy," I said in a whisper.

My legs shook as it moved forward. This couldn’t be happening. Lowering myself on the floor, I pulled back the robe even further, and noted how lifeless she was with blue veins moving around her skin.

I swallowed hard as I caressed Daisy’s hollow cheeks. There was no way she would be dead right now. It must be a mistake and John didn’t know what he was saying. Yes, that should be it.

"Get up," I cried. “You need to open your eyes. You need to get up and come with me.”

"Prince Landon.” John whispered, pain evident in his voice.

I ignored him at once, placing both hands around Daisy’s cheeks as I willed her mentally to wake up. "This cannot be the end. You can’t leave me on the night I completely failed you. Come on, you need to wake up! I have searched for you all of my life, and it’s important to take care of you," I cried.
