We step outside onto the balcony and I greet by a fresh breeze from the ocean, the ocean is his backyard, I step onto the sand and sink my toes deep into it. I’m going to love being here.

“You like it?”

I hum, “I love it,”

He kisses the top of my head, “Now that we’ve completed the tour, we can go back upstairs and I’ll show you our room.”

“Can we just stand here for a minute; I just need to take this all in.”

For the first time in a while, I felt safe, I didn’t have to look over my shoulder, I’m in a place where no one knows me, they don’t know me, I can let loose and relax. No Angelo, no Kira, No Mona, Gio, Sarah or Juan, just me and my boo.

“We can go in now,” I say and he picks me up and throws me over his shoulder, and I squeal.

“That wasn’t necessary.”
