I needed to return to the mansion to ensure my father was okay. According to Mr. Harrington, Cristina’s family showed up at our home, demanding all sorts of things—including high-ranking jobs she supposedly promised them.

Now that she was pregnant, she acted like she was entitled to everything, and it irritated the hell out of me.

“They’re asking for something truly outrageous,” Mr. Harrington had said during his call.

This wasn’t easy for me. Cristina has always driven a wedge between my dad and me, a reality I’ve had to accept but never grow comfortable with.

When I arrive, I find her lounging in the garden with her mother. She reclines on the plush outdoor sofa, looking lazy and comfortable, while two helpers stand behind them like bodyguards as they chat like they’re some kind of royalty.

“What are you doing here?!” her mother snapped the moment she saw me.

“I came to check on my dad,” I reply evenly, refusing to be intimidated.

“Tsk! I’m sure you’re just here to cause troub

“Is it heavy?” my dad asked, eyeing the disguised box in my arms. “It is, but I can manage,” I replied with a small smile. He gave a slow nod, still recovering from his recent illness, and didn’t offer to help. I took that as my cue to leave. I just hoped he wasn’t suspicious about what I was carrying. Gianna was standing outside the library when I opened the door. Her eyebrows rose when she saw me struggling with what appeared to be a stack of books. “Do you need help, Dr. Sinclair?” she offered. “I’ve got it, thanks.” I couldn’t risk transferring the box—something might fall out, or the contents might shift, revealing what I was really carrying. The disguised box was carefully placed in the trunk, my mind racing through possible options. The real problem was that I couldn’t examine its contents at home. Maximus might discover it. With a forced smile, I said goodbye to Dad, promising to visit again soon. After some thought, I realized I had no choice but to message Royal. We’d

The unique wooden box containing Maximus’ file felt like it was taunting me. I couldn’t stop staring at the file, knowing that opening it would only worsen my worries. Right now, I had to trust what I’d seen in our relationship, not whatever secrets were inside those papers. After a long internal battle, I finally placed the file back in the box. Royal’s lips parted slightly, clearly taken aback. “I’m sorry, Roy,” I said softly. “I know this seems irrational, but I need you to understand... I have to confirm whether I’m pregnant first.” I covered my mouth with trembling fingers, trying to contain the storm of emotions building inside me. Deep down, I was sure I was pregnant, and the idea of becoming a mother made me truly happy. But thinking about how Maximus might react took away that joy. How would he take the news? What would it mean for our relationship? Gianna carefully returned the rest of the files and closed the box, restoring it to its original form. I noticed the cu

Seeing Kyros show up with his mom left me stunned. Suddenly, all my personal issues were out in the open for everyone to see. He walked toward me, jaw clenched and eyes burning, but Gianna quickly stepped in front, throwing him a sharp, warning glare. “Step aside!” Kyros barked, teeth grinding with fury. “Kyros!” Mrs. Ferrero snapped, her tone laced with reprimand. My ex-fiancé turned to me, disbelief tightening his features. “How are you pregnant, Gazelle? Did you sleep with my brother? How could you do that?!” Hospital staff and patients paused to watch our confrontation, but I refused to be intimidated. His accusations made little sense given our history. “Gianna, it’s okay. Let me handle this,” I said calmly. “Dr. Sinclair, he might hurt you,” Gianna warned, her protective instinct clearly triggered by his aggressive demeanor. “I’ll be fine. He won’t hurt me.” I knew Kyros well; no matter how mad he got, he’d never laid a hand on me. So I stepped forward, ready to remind h

Maximus “Sir, the chairman has requested your presence again,” Emma informed me as she placed a document on my desk. “Did something happen?” I asked, glancing up from my work. The request was puzzling. I had just been in the chairman’s office less than an hour ago, and our meeting had ended with no hint that there was anything else to discuss. “From what I heard through his assistant, Madam and Kyros arrived a few minutes ago.” I frowned, understanding immediately. This was probably about Kyros’ mother again. She had been stirring up trouble as always, especially when it came to my wife. It would’ve already been settled in the earlier meeting if it were about a business matter. Before leaving, I organized my pending files and gave clear instructions to my two assistants regarding the quarterly reports. I also mentioned Gazelle’s birthday next week; it would be our first time celebrating it together. When I entered the chairman’s office, Kyros’ cold gaze fixed on me immediately

  • Beyond Betrayal: Marry His Brother   CHAPTER 1: Clockwork

Seven years of love meant nothing against seven months of betrayal. Some promises are easier to break than to keep. Kyros Arnaud Ferrero, the man I met at 17, was supposed to be my forever. Never did I imagine that his love would come with a betrayal. He loved me, yet he could hurt and betray me with the very friend I trusted. He could lie and cheat without even batting an eye. To get back at him, I married the brother he despises most—the current president of his company. *** Gazelle “You have an emergency shift tonight at the hospital. Patients have been scheduled and chosen to give birth today. I’m really sorry, Dr. Sinclair.” That was the message from my chief resident—one I never imagined would lead me to the truth about my fiancé’s betrayal. As a second-year OB-GYN resident, this marked the second year she assigned me to duty on Valentine’s Day.My dedication to medicine had always guided my choices, so I replied, “Noted. I’ll be at the hospital by the afternoon.” The sacr

Lunch didn’t seem appealing—especially a meal that would be hard to stomach. So, I simply said, “It’s fine. I’ll eat at the hospital instead.”A gentle knock interrupted us, and the secretary appeared with paper bags in hand. As she passed them to Kyros, our eyes met briefly. “Happy Hearts Day, baby.” Kyros retrieved a box from one of the bags and carefully fastened its contents around my wrist. “The bracelet suits you perfectly,” he murmured, pressing his lips to my knuckles. I glanced at the other bag.“What’s inside? Is that for me, too?” I asked, feigning curiosity despite already knowing the answer.“A pair of earrings. Mom asked me to buy them along with my order when she found out I was purchasing from this brand.”“Oh.” I gave him the chance to come clean, to choose honesty over deception. But his lie only added to the chaos already swirling in my mind.He pulled me into a warm embrace. “Does this mean I’ll be having dinner alone tonight? I made a reservation at an Italian r

Kyros and I started our friendship in middle school. He courted me when I turned sixteen, and since our families were also friends, it wasn’t difficult for us to accept each other. I accepted him before I started university. When I was seventeen, my bodyguard helped my kidnappers. Young and innocent, I was almost abused by them. But Kyros arrived before they could destroy me. Of course, there had always been rumors—whispers that those scumbags had abused me. But Kyros, my savior, had pursued me relentlessly, and I truly believed our relationship would strengthen both our families.Everyone in our circle—family and friends alike—knew that Kyros and I were each other’s first love. When I left the Sinclair family after a bitter dispute with my father, Kyros took that as his cue to turn our relationship into marriage. He loved me deeply—or so I thought. My initial plan was to reclaim the annual fee I had been paying for The Pink Girls Code to help Stella. The sorority required a yearly membership fee, and I had been covering hers. When her family ran into trouble, I stepped in without hesitation. In our social circle, canceling this membership was a humiliation. I composed a carefully worded message to Royal, the organization’s president: ‘Tell your assistant not to charge Stella’s annual fee to me anymore. I also won’t be covering any of her sorority expenses. You should contact her directly regarding her membership dues.’ Royal’s reply came faster than expected: ‘Did something happen?’ I hesitated. Could I trust her? Two of my closest friends had already betrayed me, and I wasn’t sure if Royal would do the same. After careful consideration, I followed my intuition and typed: ‘Kyros is having an affair with Stella. They’ve been intimately involved for some time now. They don’t know that I discovered already.’ Her response

Gazelle Kneeling on the bed, completely naked, my mind was clouded with too much bliss. My legs trembled and curled beneath me as Maximus’ tongue moved over my most sensitive spot, coaxing moans I couldn’t hold back. He lay there lazily on the bed, shirtless, still wearing his pants—yet the hunger in his eyes, the way he devoured me with slow, deliberate strokes, was like a starved lion savoring his favorite meal. “Max…” Soft moans slipped from my lips as waves of pleasure rolled through me, one after another. Delicious cream kept blooming deep in my core, one wave after another, and just when I thought I’d reach the edge, it would create another, leaving me trembling, aching, and deliciously tormented. “Sit nicely, Dr. Sinclair… I need to taste more,” he murmured, his warm breath brushing against my most sensitive spot, sending a shiver of pleasure through me. My desire to unbutton his pants, to slide them off and taste him, was almost unbearable. I wanted to see him, to tou

Maximus “I’m really sorry…” Camila murmured to Dante, though her eyes drifted toward me even as she cradled the infant in her arms. She continued in a trembling voice, “I didn’t know there was a whole group hiding behind my sister-in-law… I had no idea Dr. Sinclair could be in danger because of their investigation.” I remained seated, arms crossed tightly against my chest, fighting to contain the anger that wouldn’t solve anything now. “Nico cut me off from everyone,” she sobbed. “From my friends, family… even from other people. When I spotted Maximus video chatting with Dr. Sinclair, I finally found the courage to approach the doctor and beg for help.” Dante’s tone was too calm for everything his sister had dragged us into. “Camila, I’ll take you to Bryston City or Park Avenue, whichever you prefer, but you’re never seeing your husband again.” She broke down completely. “What if Nico and his mistress fight for custody of my baby?” Panic etched her features. “I signed those surr

The tremors in my body wouldn’t subside. Gianna rushed to close the blinds, shielding us from any snipers outside. Dr. Lawrence bolted toward the door with Dr. Silva close behind. “Stop!” Gianna commanded sharply. The woman trailed after them. I hurried to check on Camila, who was visibly shaking, her eyes wide with fear. “Are you alright?” I asked gently. My gaze swept across the room. A bullet had struck a section of the wall. Camila’s husband and his mistress clung to each other, their recent argument forgotten as terror overtook their faces. Gianna returned to my side. Our eyes met in silent understanding. My mention of evidence must have triggered Dr. Lawrence and whoever was pulling his strings. Damn it! “Dr. Sinclair, are you hurt? The reinforcements I called have arrived!” she said. And just then, I saw them—figures striding into the ward with heavy, purposeful steps. It was Dante Castillo’s team. His presence was ominous, his expression unreadable. A nurse followed c

“Because the baby was never part of the plan!” Gianna’s voice cut through the room as she fixed the crowd with an icy stare. “What’s that supposed to mean?” the mistress demanded, her voice rising. I exchanged a glance with Gianna, trying to decipher her meaning. Over time, we’d developed an almost telepathic understanding—whether through coincidence or genuine connection, we often comprehended each other without words. Without turning her head, Gianna flicked her gaze briefly toward Nico. I got it. I faced Dr. Silva directly. “You’re a doctor—you should know exactly what that implies,” I challenged. “And I’m certain Mr. Silva has already informed you, didn’t he?” “Y-you—” Nico stammered before his expression hardened. “You’re a quack doctor!” The sudden accusation caught me off guard. Gianna’s expression darkened. But Nico wasn’t finished. “So what if my wife doesn’t have any scars from IVF?” his words rushed out defensively. “I simply didn’t want Camila to be physic
