The sanctuary fell into complete silence.

The brilliant light gradually faded, but the Celestial Heart remained suspended in Liana's trembling hands.

She stared at the glowing crystal, unable to understand what had just happened.

"I... I didn't do anything," she whispered.

"I only touched it."

Kael stood frozen.

Every lesson he had learned as a prince echoed through his mind.

The Celestial Heart was the oldest treasure of the Celestial Kingdom. It had chosen only one guardian in history—a warrior blessed by the First King himself. After that guardian disappeared nearly a thousand years ago, the Heart had never responded to another soul.

Until now.

Commander Rylan slowly lowered himself to one knee.

"The prophecy..."

He spoke almost in awe.

"It was true."

Liana looked at him in confusion.

"Please stop looking at me like that."

"I don't know what's happening."

Rylan lifted his head.

"My lady, legends tell of a Guardian chosen by the Heart itself."

"A protector who would appear only when darkness threatened both worlds."

"I think..." He hesitated before continuing.

"...that guardian is you."

Liana immediately shook her head.

"No."

"You've made a mistake."

"I'm just a bookstore employee."

"I've never fought anyone in my life."

"I don't have magic."

The Celestial Heart pulsed gently.

As if disagreeing with her.

Kael slowly approached.

"May I?"

Liana nodded.

He carefully reached toward the crystal.

The moment his fingers touched it, the light disappeared.

The Heart became an ordinary piece of crystal.

Kael frowned.

Then he stepped back.

The instant Liana held it again, the crystal shone brilliantly once more.

Commander Rylan inhaled sharply.

"It recognizes only her."

Kael smiled faintly.

"Which means the legends were incomplete."

Before anyone could say another word, the ground suddenly shook.

Dust rained from the ceiling.

A deep rumble echoed throughout the sanctuary.

Liana grabbed Kael's arm.

"What's happening?"

Kael looked around.

"The sanctuary is reacting."

The crystal in Liana's hands grew warmer.

Ancient symbols carved into the walls began glowing one after another.

The underground river sparkled with golden light.

Then a voice echoed through the chamber.

It wasn't loud.

It wasn't frightening.

It was gentle.

Almost like a mother comforting her child.

"Guardian..."

Liana's eyes widened.

"Did you hear that?"

Kael nodded.

"I heard it."

Commander Rylan looked confused.

"I didn't hear anything."

The voice spoke again.

"Come forward."

Without realizing it, Liana took a step toward the center of the sanctuary.

The crystal floated from her hands and hovered above the stone pedestal once more.

Golden light surrounded her feet.

Kael instinctively moved beside her.

"I won't let anything happen to you."

She gave him a nervous smile.

"I know."

The light expanded into a perfect circle.

Ancient runes appeared beneath Liana, glowing brighter with each passing second.

Then, without warning, images appeared in the air around them.

A battlefield.

Towering mountains.

A magnificent palace surrounded by floating islands.

Thousands of soldiers fighting creatures made entirely of shadow.

At the center stood a young woman dressed in silver armor.

She held the very same Celestial Heart.

Her eyes glowed with blue and gold light as she faced a man wrapped in darkness.

"The first Guardian..." Kael whispered.

Commander Rylan stared in amazement.

"I've only read about her."

The vision continued.

The Guardian raised the Celestial Heart toward the heavens.

A brilliant beam of light shot into the sky, creating a barrier that separated two worlds.

The shadow army disappeared.

Peace returned.

But before the vision ended, the Guardian looked directly toward Liana.

It felt as though she could see her across the centuries.

The woman smiled sadly.

"When darkness rises again..."

"The Heart will choose another."

"Protect both worlds..."

"Even if it costs everything."

The vision vanished.

The sanctuary returned to silence.

Liana felt tears forming in her eyes without knowing why.

"It felt so real."

Kael gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Because it was."

He looked at the Celestial Heart.

"You've just witnessed history."

Suddenly, Commander Rylan reached for his sword.

"Someone's here."

Footsteps echoed from the staircase above.

Heavy footsteps.

More than one person.

Kael immediately extinguished the glowing sword he had summoned earlier and listened carefully.

"They've found the sanctuary."

"Shadow Hunters?" Liana whispered.

Kael shook his head.

"No."

"The footsteps are different."

Commander Rylan's expression darkened.

"Royal soldiers."

"But... how?"

"No one knew this place existed."

A cold voice echoed from the entrance.

"Someone told us."

A tall figure slowly descended the stairs, dressed in black armor trimmed with gold.

Behind him marched nearly thirty armed soldiers.

Every one of them wore the crest of the Celestial Kingdom.

Commander Rylan's face turned pale.

"General Varis..."

The newcomer smiled.

"It has been a long time."

Kael narrowed his eyes.

"My uncle sent you."

General Varis bowed mockingly.

"The Regent sends his greetings, Your Highness."

His gaze shifted to Liana.

"So..."

"The Guardian has awakened."

He smiled with satisfaction.

"Our information was correct."

Liana instinctively stepped behind Kael.

"What does he want?"

Kael never took his eyes off the general.

"You."

Varis slowly unsheathed his sword.

"The Regent has no interest in killing you."

His smile widened.

"He only needs the girl."

The soldiers raised their weapons.

Kael summoned his sword of light once more.

Its blue glow illuminated the sanctuary.

Commander Rylan drew his own blade and stood beside the prince.

"You'll have to go through us first."

General Varis laughed.

"I was hoping you'd say that."

As both sides prepared for battle, the Celestial Heart suddenly pulsed again.

Its golden light spread silently across the chamber.

Unknown to everyone present, the ancient relic had begun awakening powers that had remained dormant for a thousand years.

And the war for the Guardian had officially begun.

The chamber exploded in a blinding flash of silver light. Liana was thrown backward as the colossal hand of darkness tore through the ceiling, shattering ancient pillars that had stood untouched for thousands of years. The force of the impact cracked the marble floor beneath her feet, and the beautiful chamber of the Sixth Trial began collapsing around them. At the center of the destruction stood Orion. The Sixth Keeper held his silver sword with both hands, its blade blazing like a newborn star. The darkness pressed against his weapon, filling the chamber with a terrible screech as light and shadow collided. For a moment... Neither side moved. Then the darkness laughed. It was a voice unlike any Liana had ever heard. It wasn't loud. It wasn't angry. It was calm. Ancient. Certain of its own victory. "Orion..." "Still pretending you can change fate?" Orion tightened his grip on his sword. "I don't seek to change fate." "I seek to give humanity the chance to choose it."

The meadow fell silent. The two paths before Liana glowed beneath the endless night sky. One shimmered with warm golden light, peaceful and inviting. The other was cloaked in shadows, yet tiny stars flickered within the darkness, as though hope still lingered beyond it. Orion stood beside the crystal lake with his hands folded behind his back. His expression was calm, but there was sadness in his silver eyes. "For thousands of years," he said softly, "every Guardian who reached this place believed they could save everyone." Liana didn't take her eyes off the two paths. "And they couldn't?" Orion slowly shook his head. "No." "The worlds were created with balance. To preserve one, another must pay the price." His words struck her like a blade. "So you're telling me that everything I've fought for... every sacrifice... was leading to this?" "I'm telling you," Orion replied, "that every Guardian must decide what kind of future they are willing to carry." Liana clenched her fis

The silence that followed Nyxara's departure was almost unbearable. Dust drifted slowly through the shattered chamber of the Abyssal Spire. The broken pillars, scorched stone, and glowing runes bore witness to the overwhelming power of the Seventh General. No one spoke. The Abyss Wyrm slowly lowered its enormous head toward Liana. Though its body still carried the scars of countless battles, its golden eyes had become gentle once more. "The Key has accepted you," it said in its deep, ancient voice. "But that is only the beginning." Liana looked at the seven-colored crystal floating above her palm. "I don't understand." "What is the Gate of Eternity?" The Wyrm remained silent for several moments before answering. "It is the place where the fate of every world is decided." Kael exchanged a glance with Commander Rylan. "What do you mean... every world?" Cassian stepped forward. "The First King never ruled only the Celestial Kingdom." Everyone turned toward him. "He protec

  • Beyond His World   Chapter 43: The Wyrm's Judgment

The roar of the Abyss Wyrm shook the entire Abyssal Spire. Stone pillars split apart as enormous pieces of the ceiling crashed into the chamber below. Dust and fragments of black crystal filled the air while ancient runes burned across the walls like rivers of molten fire. The colossal beast forced more of its body into the tower. Its obsidian scales reflected the violet glow of the Fifth Seal, and each breath released dark mist that swallowed the surrounding light. Liana instinctively tightened her grip on the Celestial Heart. Its five awakened gemstones pulsed rapidly against her chest. For the first time since becoming the Guardian... The Heart felt afraid. Kael stepped in front of her, raising the Celestial Blade. "No matter what happens..." "...you stay behind me." Liana shook her head. "We face this together." Commander Rylan planted his sword into the cracked floor. "Royal Guards!" The surviving guards immediately formed a defensive line despite their exhaustion.

  • Beyond His World   Chapter 42: The Sixth General

The violet light of the Fifth Seal pierced the heavens. For a brief moment, the Abyssal Spire fell silent. Then... A deep rumble echoed from its highest floor. The stone walls trembled. Ancient runes carved into the corridors flickered from violet to crimson. Liana instinctively reached for the Celestial Heart. Its five restored gemstones shone brilliantly. Golden. Emerald. White. Silver. Violet. Yet instead of growing calmer... The Heart pulsed with urgency. Something powerful had awakened. --- Far away in the Temple of Origins... The Crown of Eternis floated above its marble pedestal. The fifth jewel had awakened. But another gemstone... The sixth... Flickered faintly. Not with light. With darkness. Elder monks guarding the temple exchanged frightened glances. One elderly priest whispered, "The Sixth Seal is crying." Another looked toward the eastern horizon. "The balance is breaking." --- Inside the Abyssal Spire... Kael finally found Liana. He rush

Liana couldn't move. Her mother's warm smile was exactly as she remembered. The gentle eyes. The soft voice. Even the faint scent of lavender lingered in the air. "My daughter," her mother whispered, opening her arms. "Come here." A lump formed in Liana's throat. For months, she had fought monsters, crossed worlds, and carried the burden of the Guardian. Now, standing before her was the one person she had longed to see again. Slowly, she took a step forward. Then another. Just as she was about to reach her— The Celestial Heart burned against her chest. A sharp pain spread through her body. Liana stopped. "No..." She whispered. "My mother is gone." The woman smiled sadly. "Does that matter?" "What if I could stay with you?" "No more wars." "No more sacrifices." "No more pain." The room changed. The cold black walls disappeared. Instead, Liana found herself in her childhood home. The fireplace crackled softly. Books lined the shelves. Outside the window, gol
