Melody’s POV

I trotted up the steps of my house, and waited for Teddy. At least I knew a little bit about this male now, but I still didn’t like the fact that I had to rely on him right at this moment. I hated to admit it, but I secretly hoped that he saw me shift, if only to get a reaction from him, but he seemed to be the perfect gentleman. I thought I had smelled arousal on him for a second, but I could have been wrong.

When he opened the door for me, I quickly made it inside and yipped at him, hopefully he got the message to stay. I looked around, making sure that the curtains were drawn tight, then shifted back into my human form.

That was so embarrassing I thought to myself. I hadn’t lost full control of my wolf since I was ten. Most werewolf books I had read for humans were wrong in the department of werewolves getting their wolf at a certain age. We were always born with our wolf. It is a part of is, so it is always there. What triggers the shift usually is hormonal. For some, it happened sooner than others.

I was an early bloomer, as my mother would tell me. Then we had to have the embarrassing talk about becoming a woman as well as a werewolf. I smiled to myself and looked to the wall. A picture of me and my parents hung just at my eye level on the wall next to the stairs.

My parents had met each other late into their lives. My father was in town on a stopover for a business trip, and my mother had been a manager at a local restaurant. They were both in their one hundred and sixties, and had given up long ago about finding their fated mate. Their shock and surprise at finally finding each other was understandable. Soon after they mated, they were even more shocked when my mother got pregnant.

My father decided to settle down in my mom’s town; they wanted to raise their miracle pup in the picturesque and quiet town. My father bought the house I lived in now and moved to the pack to establish roots. They both decided to finally retire and raise me together. My mother was always in the kitchen cooking, and I had always been right along with her. I was sure that is where my love of pastries had come from.

I continued up the stairs to my room. Mike and I had taken over the master bedroom when we got married. I eventually converted my old bedroom into a spacious closet for both of us soon after. Now that Mike was out, the closet seemed like a ridiculous space. Mike had way more clothing than I did, making the racks on the walls look bare. I threw on a new bra and panties, a clean button up shirt, and some black dress pants. Looking around, I found some comfortable flats to wear with my clothing.

Sighing to myself, I made my way back downstairs, knowing that it was inevitable to talk to Teddy. Before getting to the door, I glanced into the living room at the clock. The time read two forty five. I was late to the bank appointment, hopefully I could make it before the manager left. I stepped quickly into the kitchen and got a muffin to snack on, I was going to miss eating lunch. I grabbed an extra to give to the unwanted guest as well. “Hi..” I said awkwardly to Teddy as I opened the door.

“Hello there, beautiful.” He smiled at me as I closed the door behind me. I blushed as I made my way to sit down in the rocking chair next to him. I didn’t know where to start, so I offered him the muffin. He quirked an eyebrow than accepted the pastry. He took one bite and moaned loudly. “Goddess, I’m going to gain fifty pounds before I leave this city.”

I blushed again at his moan. I could easily picture him moaning like that in a bedroom; something I did not want my mind to entertain more than it already had.

“I guess that means we can skip talking and go quickly to getting rid of our problem at hand?” I looked at him, hoping that he got the hint of what I was saying. If he was already talking about leaving, I figured he would want to break our fated mate bond as well. I didn’t want to go through the heartache again of breaking another fully cemented bond.

“Get rid of the problem at hand?” He said through a mouthful of muffin. Taking a hard swallow to clear his throat, he continued. “Yah, I will definitely need to extent my time here with your Alpha. I plan on getting to know you more too.”

“That’s not what I meant.” I said through clenched teeth. Fuck, he wants to stay here, I knew now that this was going to be difficult. “The problem at hand is I do not want another mate, and I want to sever any bond we have already made by just meeting each other before it gets harder to.”

Teddy raised both eyebrows at that statement. “Why do you want to break something without even getting the chance to know me?” He looked hurt. “I know I definitely want to get to know you, more than you know.” His eyes raked up and down my body, making me feel naked again.

“Listen, not that I owe you any explanations, but I do not want another mate. I just am getting out of a bond and have already been screwed over once. Let’s just break this already and let bygones be bygones.” Teddy looked hurt at that statement, but a look of determination soon followed.

“What makes you think I am anything like your ex?.. Yah, you went through something, I get it. But I would really appreciate the chance to at least get to know the wolf the Goddess pared for me. Can I at least get that?” He sighed, “listen, I am supposed to leave here next Monday,.. can you at least give me until then to get to know you?”

I hesitated. I really needed to get going to the bank, and it looked like I wasn’t going to lose this guy easily. After mulling it over for a bit, I looked up at him. “Fine, but I have a few stipulations.”

“Alright, go ahead.” Teddy looked hopeful with a small smile on his lips.

“First of all, I have appointments set up for this week that I cannot miss; so no begging for extra time when I have to go to them.”

“Easy enough, what else.”

“I own the bakery on Main Street and so I will not be available until noon on every day except Thursday.” After making sure Teddy was still paying attention, I continued on. “And finally, at the end of your time, you have to break the bond with me if you cannot convince me otherwise.”

Teddy grinned ear to ear at that, he obviously didn’t think that I would follow through with the last part. “It’s a deal.” He reached between the chairs for a handshake and I complied, sealing the deal. My wolf purred in my head about the brief contact, loving the sparks it made, and I hated knowing that I would be hurting my wolf in any way down the road but we couldn’t risk the heartbreak again.

“Now, I have another appointment I have to get to, so I need to be heading out.” I stood and picked up my purse that Teddy had left by my front door, hoping that he would be on his way.

“Can I ask you for a favor?” Teddy looked at me as I began to walk down the porch steps.

Great, he’s already starting to ask for favors, I thought to myself as I turned back to him; typical guy already. “Yes?” I raised an eyebrow and turned back to him.

“A ride back to my motorcycle?” He inquire. I blushed in embarrassment; of course he needed a ride, he had driven me here after all. I agreed and we went on our way back to the main street.

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Bonds and Brownies Part 2

Melody’s POV I was aghast with myself; trying desperately to get my wolf back under control, but the animal side of me was not having it. It kept on licking and sniffing Teddy making him laugh. “Calm down, beautiful girl. I think your human side is angry with you.” His voice seemed to have some effect on my beast, soothing it. I was soon able to reel her in and take over, but when I did, I realized all of my clothing was shredded behind me. Ah dammit! Now what am I going to do? I couldn’t shift back naked in the middle of the city! I rooted around the pile of rags, looking for something wearable, but to no avail. “Can I help you, Melody?” Teddy reached toward me. I growled at his outstretched hand, making him hesitate. “I would never hurt you, beautiful.” I huffed in exasperation, hopefully he wouldn’t take advantage of me in this state. Rooting around again, I found my purse and nudged it to him. He got the message and picked it up. Looking around in it, he brought out my wal

Melody’s POV Bzzzzt Bzzzzt, I gasped awake, sweating all over. My phone vibrated in my hand; the alarm I set on my phone flashing one pm. Damn, I thought, that was hot. I never had a wet dream like that before, and definitely never had one about someone I had only met once. I stretched and put my shoes back on deciding to park back at the pack house and take a short walk to the bakery, the day was beautiful and I did not want to waste such nice weather being inside. When I arrived, the motorcycle was the only thing in the lot, everyone else more than likely going somewhere for lunch. Walking down to the bakery, I was hit with the smell of something enticing; stirring up my wolf and making her perk up. The wind was blowing from the bakery, a figure sitting down and eating something from a box. When I got closer, the smell hit me full blast, I could make out the facial features. “fuck.” I got out before chaos ensued. ***** Teddy’s POV I couldn’t believe my luck as I saw Melo

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Dreams and Donuts

Melody’s POV Turning off the alarm, I crawled out of bed and headed for the shower, another steamy dream leaving me wanting. Normally I was up by three; at the bakery by four thirty, prepping for the day. It felt weird to be getting up so late on a Monday. After the cold shower, I went down stairs to the kitchen. I had prepped the dough for the donuts yesterday and had put it in the fridge to slowly rise for this morning. I cut and shaped them into various sizes; classic, twisted, and filled. I saved the holes from the classic to make some bites out of them. I let them rest as I prepped the oil for frying. Once they were fried and the classic glazed while they were warm, I let the others cool off. The twists I dusted with cinnamon and sugar. The filled I put a vanilla custard in the center and topped them with leftover caramel icing from the cupcakes Saturday. After all was said and done, I had two dozen to bring with me to the pack house. Alpha Scot

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Motors and Macarons

Melody’s POV After everything I did for Mike, for him to pull this stunt really was the one thing that broke my heart. He knew how much the business meant to me, and to jeopardize it in such a fashion was really the last straw. I spent the rest of the day going through the house and getting the rest of Mike’s things, which wasn’t much after his clothing. It was like he just moved in and left things as they were, not even making his own mark. The only place that really was almost all his was the basement, where his home gym set up was. Movers came by at six that evening with a list from the lawyer what they would be taking and I directed them where to go. It took them two hours just to get the exercise machines from the basement. After all was said and done I was exhausted and worn out. I went to the living room and sat down on a wingback chair, snacking on some macarons from Monday. Looking back on everything, I should have saw the signs of M

  • Bikers and Bakeries   Court and Cupcakes Part 2

Melody’s POV “I told you the other day on the phone, stop calling me Babe.” I had requested mediated phone calls that week as I had gotten the layer to set up today for Mike to get his things. “You can come into the living room until the lawyer gets here; but that’s it” Mike huffed and shoved past me into the house. The living room was small, but cozy. One wall was covered in wooden bookshelves, and the other a fireplace with a television mounted above it. The third wall had a picture window that looked out at the street. Mike sat in the winged back chair and looked to me. “How has your week gone, Mells?” Mike attempted small talk, sensing the tension in the air. “Fine, except for the fact that my husband fucked who I thought was my best friend of three years.” I spit out husband like the word was poisoned. Mike flinched at the bite in my voice. “Erm, uh, well I’m happy to hear that you’re doing okey…” After another few minutes of both of us sitting i
