THIRTY TWO – DANGER

MIRA

The entire room erupts in a beehive of activity. People are running, and screaming.

I sway on my feet, my brain suddenly feeling too heavy. I grab onto the nearest chair with intentions of collapsing into it for a while when I feel the second prick.

Pain shoots up my neck and my muscles become lethargic. I slide bonelessly to the ground.

The lights are too bright. Why the hell are they so bright?

Someone lifts and throws me over a shoulder. I struggle in my mind, but my muscles refuse to move. I feel strangely locked in place.

A sack is thrown over my head and the stale smell coming from it almost makes me puke.

I hold my breath until I pass out.

I jolt awake, shaking all over. My stomach feels like lead and every single part of me hurts. I try to lifts

my hair from my feverish forehead, but my hands refuse to move.

My wrists are bound together by strong ropes. So are my ankles.
