Lightning flashed across the dark, menacing sky as rain poured down in torrents outside our penthouse windows. The wind howled, pounding against the glass panes while the thunder roared, shaking the very foundation of our home. It was a stormy night, one I would have never chosen for the day I went into labor.

I clutched my heavily pregnant belly, feeling a surge of pain wrench through my body as I slowly paced back and forth in our bedroom. "Ethan," I gasped, my voice quivering with fear. "I think... I think the baby's coming."
