Roseline rushed out of the elevator in hurried steps. She balled her hand into a fist in anger not expecting to see what Henry would chase after. She still doesn't have a full understanding why he would cheat on her with her own step sister and given the way they were so intimate she was sure that they'd been having that secret affair for a very long time.
Feeling completely disgusted thinking about what she had witnessed earlier, Roseline decided to change her direction and head to the bancoly of the ship on the second floor. She knew Henry would soon reach the second floor seeing how he had asked her to stop earlier so it's better for her to divert his attention.Roseline gazed at the full moon, reflecting on the ocean water with a blank expression. Her marriage was supposed to be different from this betrayal by her husband. She loved him too much and was hurt by what he did to her. She remembered herself telling him a few minutes ago that today was one of the happiest days of her life. Unconsciously tears slipped down her eyes and dropped on the back of her hand.“Roseline!" She snapped out of her daze when she heard Henry's voice from behind. How did he find her here?“Y-you? Why have…… you come here?!” Roseline asked immediately as she turned around and saw Henry standing before her. Roseline gaze trailed off from a perfectly hairstyle that was messy due to the infidelity he had done and his clothes were slightly wrinkled.‘This stupid jerk!’“I'm sorry Rose, it's -"“Sorry? Are you going to use the famous excuse of ‘ it's not what you think’? Did you take me for a fool?!!” Rose cut off Henry and yelled furiously at him.“Calm down and let me explain to you." Henry muttered as he ran his hand through his head in frustration. He was slightly taken back by Roseline yelling at him for the first time.“There is absolutely nothing to explain, because I've got everything you guys did recorded here and I'm going to play this to the whole guest. Then you can explain yourself to everyone." Roseline instantly replied, her voice turned cold in a matter of seconds. She made up her mind, even though she'd get hurt by it, she doesn't mind as long as she reveals this video to the guests.“Are you crazy, Rose! Even if you don't consider me, you're going to ruin Sophia's reputation if you reveal that video." Henry snapped and yelled furiously at Roseline. He was still surprised that she had video of both him and Sophia.Roseline laughed at herself. He didn't even care about how hurt she was but was caring about her sister's reputation. What a crazy bastard!“What did you think I was aiming for? You think I'm not hurting as well? Just watch and see how crazy I can be when everyone sees this. Now move out of my way.” Roseline glared at him and was about to brush past him but stopped when he grabbed her hand.“I'm sorry-” He whispered gently. This time around he sounded really sorry with a hint of sadness in his voice.“Pardon?" Roseline raised her head to look at Henry. “What do you mean by that? Even though you sound really sorry I won't fall for it so let go of my……argh! “ Roseline was unable to finish her words when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She glanced down and saw a small dagger piercing through her stomach."Argh! Y-you………!!!" Roseline took a few footsteps backward in shock and pain. Her white dress was instantly soaked with bright red blood.“Hen…..ry….. Henry, why…..have….you done this to….me?” She managed to ask while clutching her chest. Her face completely turned pale and her pupils locked tightly as she stared at the man who had just stabbed her with a dagger.Roseline could never imagine that she could be stabbed by the man she loved and trusted the most after all these years they've been together and today of all days that was their special day.Henry didn't say a word as he pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and elegantly wiped off the blood on his fingers.“Allow me to answer that question, sister?" A sweet elegant voice traveled through the dark and reached Roseline.Roseline, who was still clutching her stomach, raised her head when she heard the voice. She patiently waited for the person to show their face to confirm her suspicions.“My dearest sister, the person that Henry loves has always been me ,” The same voice declared, and Roseline watched as a beautiful stunning woman with bright eyes, framed by long lashes, a straight nose, full lips, glowing and clear skin, with a most voluptuous body that had gained her endless suitors. She was none other than Sophia Gray who had pushed the balcony door open and strutted her way to the bancoly in her t-strap black heels.Sophia approached in her red one-off-the-shoulder red dress that enhanced her beautiful pale skin, giving her a noble temperament. But there was a malicious smile that adorned her beautiful and dignified face.Roseline furrowed her eyebrows tightly at the center of her forehead. In a flash, she turned her attention back to look at Henry. “You…..tried teaming up with Sophia to kill me? Why?!” Rose asked.“I've endured and tolerated you for a whole ten years, ten good years! Fortunately, everything will change and be over from today onward.” Henry shouted angrily. The sadness that Rose heard in her voice was long gone and now replaced with disgust. Henry threw the blood-stained handkerchief and walked towards where Sophia was standing, familiarly embracing her waist.Rose felt like she'd been struck by lightning, her body suddenly jerking as she stood at the two of them in shock.Sophia tiptoed and planted an affectionate kiss on his lips. “Honey, you've worked so hard. However, you shouldn't have wasted your time and energy stabbing her because she is already dying naturally on her own." Triumph and sinisterness were written all over her face as she glanced at Rose.“I just thought to make it quicker seeing that she was about to ruin our reputation with the video and the effect might take longer."Dying? Yes, she was already dying due to being stabbed but what did she mean by that? Rose stared at her half-sister who appeared to be a stranger now, and then a terrifying truth dawned on her instantly when she connected the dots and meaning of Sophia's words.“You both…….. you two have poisoned me?” Her eyes darted from Sophia to Henry, the man she loved all her life. There was no sort of guilt shown on his face at all.The hallway buzzed with the midday rush as students swarmed toward the cafeteria, chattering excitedly about everything from test scores to weekend plans. Rose adjusted her backpack, waiting just outside the classroom door with Kehlani, who was calmly rechecking her timetable, and Sandra, who was already grumbling about the cafeteria lines. "I swear if they run out of chicken nuggets again, I'm flipping someone's tray," Sandra muttered, folding her arms. "Let’s just hope the line isn’t too long today," Kehlani replied gently. Just then, they stepped fully out of the classroom and came to an abrupt halt. Standing right in front of them was Leo, casually leaning against the wall with his signature confident smirk. His usual entourage flanked him—Kaleb and Felix were laughing over something on a phone, Reeves was casually tossing a basketball between his hands, and Austin stood next to Leo, focused on a game on his own screen. The sight of the five seniors immediately drew attention,
Rose stepped onto campus, her steps even, her gaze ahead, but she couldn’t ignore the subtle tension prickling at the back of her neck. Whispers slithered through the school grounds, barely audible but insistent. Heads turned in her direction, eyes wide as if they'd seen a ghost. Some students even stopped walking just to stare at her, their conversations halting mid-sentence. Rose kept her expression neutral. She reached into her bag, pulling out her headphones and placing them over her ears. A low hum of instrumental jazz filled her ears, the soothing rhythm giving her a small sense of calm as she walked down the path toward her class building. She could ignore the stares. She could ignore the whispers. That part she had mastered long ago. But before she reached the main entrance, a sudden, high-pitched voice broke through the music in her headphones. “Rose!” She turned instinctively, eyebrows raising in surprise. Two familiar figures came barreling toward her from across the
The morning sun filtered gently through the car windows, casting soft golden light on the sleek black dashboard. Luthor glanced in the rearview mirror at the girl seated quietly beside him. Rose hadn’t said a word since they left the Anderson estate—her usually poised and serene demeanor had been subdued ever since they got into the car. She sat straight, arms folded loosely in her lap, her expression thoughtful as her gaze drifted out the window. Luthor tapped his fingers rhythmically on the steering wheel, the faint sound of pop music playing in the background barely filling the silence. “You’ve been awfully quiet this morning, little Rose,” Luthor finally said, shooting her a sideways glance. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re plotting world domination.” Rose turned to him with a small, amused smile, her expression still distant. “Nothing’s wrong, Brother Luthor.” Luther raised a brow, unconvinced. “You know, that’s exactly what people say when something’s definitely wron
Seeing that everyone was already ganging on her mother-in-law, Karen suddenly spoke. “My dear Rose, it's not like mother doesn't want you to return back to school, it's just that we are worried and I was the one who told mother to tell you this idea of homeschool. But it's okay if you don't want to be homeschooled, we were just being overly worried that you might feel uncomfortable since that is the same school your step sister attends. Although I initially thought we should transfer you to another school, I have to admit that Crystal lake academy is indeed one of the best schools here.” Karen explained. It wasn't until her explanation did everyone understand the intention behind the two women's idea. Rose blinked her eyes, she knew they were worried about something but she didn't know they would worry about her this much. They pay attention to her feelings, they didn’t want her to be reminded of what happened anytime she sees Sophia and that's why they thought homeschooling was the
Before Rose knew it, it was already the last day of the recovery leave Karen had asked the school to give her and she would have to return back to school tomorrow. That night at the dining table, the Anderson family and Rose were all gathered to eat as usual. Ever since Rose's arrival the family routine has changed as they all want to spend more time with her. However, just as the family were busy eating, Julian broke the silence as he looked at Rose. “Rose, I heard you will be going back to school tomorrow?" He asked. Rose simply nodded her head. “The one week recovery leave Aunt requested has ended so I should resume school." She told him. Anne couldn't help but suddenly look at her granddaughter with unease and worry written all over her face. “My dear, are you sure it's okay for you to return back to school?” She asked. As if knowing what Anne was thinking, Rose dropped her spoon before turning to look at Anne with a smile. “I know that you're worried about me, grandma,
The car hummed softly as it cut through the city’s neon glow. Rose’s fingers flew across her phone screen, her brow furrowed in concentration, while Leo watched her with a smirk tugging at his lips. He leaned in, his voice a playful whisper. “You know,”he mused, “If big brother ever saw you play like you did back there, he’d probably kidnap you for his company. You’d be chained to a gaming chair, forced to code until your fingers fell off.”* Rose’s eyes flicked up, unimpressed. “You mean Brother Nicholas?” Leo’s grin suddenly disappeared when he heard Rose. “Wait—since when do you call him ‘brother’? What am I, chopped liver?” He tilted his head, feigning hurt. “None of your business.”* She turned back to her phone, her tone ice-cold. “No, I refuse this fate. Why don’t I get the same treatment? Where is my adorable nickname?” Leo shook his head in refusal. “Then you get ‘annoyance’ and ‘regret.’ Take your pick.” Leo clutched his chest dramatically. *“How can you wound me
