Noah quickly moved back, taking off his shades.

"Some just don't know how to walk!" The lady he bumped into angrily stomped her foot when her shopping bags fell to the ground.

"I didn't see you..."

"Of course you didn't, you dick head! If you kept your eyes where they should have been, my expensive designer clothes wouldn't be on the ground!" She looked down at her things.

Noah coldly stared down at her.

Great! She'd successfully made him mad.

"You heard what I said! Don't look at me like that! I know, the only thing on your mind is sex. Pig! Men are just pigs!" She threw a challenging look.

Noah put his shades back on.

He doesn't have time for such nonsense.

He took a step but she stepped right in front of him!

"What is your problem?" He calmly asked.

He was surprising himself with his level of calmness and control right now.

"Have the decency to pick my bags up!" She commanded.

Noah blocked the ironic laughter that threatened to erupt from his throat.

"You're delusional." He simply said.

Noah roughly shoved her aside with one hand and walked away.

She gasped as she turned to look at him.

"Hey! What's wrong with you!? Is this how to treat a lady?" She shouted after him.

"Never show your face to me again! I hate you!"

"Asshole!" She balanced herself, looked around and adjusted her clothes.

"What ever happened to gentlemen, huh? Gentlemen are no more!"

She carefully picked her bags and her phone rang.

She struggled with her shopping bags as she tried to get her phone from her designer purse.

"Vera speaking... Oh! Bon apré medí monsieur Patrick," She greeted with a very strong French accent.

"Wé, your dresses are ready. We are just working on the sleeves but don't worry, you'll get them in two days. I flew out of the country...I don't know when I'll get back. Alright. Merçi." She ended the call with a smile.

"Everything is perfect!" She happily said to herself.

Vera jumped out of the cab when it stopped in front of a very familiar house.

No one seem to notice her when she barged in.

Joyce, her mother was showing Joan some materials while Franklin held a glass of whiskey and nods to everything his wife shows him.

"Make sure it's very expensive. We are not paying for it. I want my daughter to get married in the fanciest way possible. She has made me proud." Franklin said.

"True. We trained her well. Not only is she getting married to a multibillionaire, she is getting married as a virgin. Clean and untouched. He should be glad. This is a blessing." Joyce happily hugged Joan.

"Mummy! Daddy!" Vera shouted from the door.

Joyce immediately dropped the material when she heard her daughter's voice.

"Vera! Love! Baby! She is home!" Joyce ran to her daughter to take her into her arms.

"Oh Vera! Why didn't you tell us you're coming home?" Franklin took turns to hug her.

"Surprise!" Vera giggled.

"Oh baby!" Joyce hugged her again. "Are you okay? Do you want water? Juice perhaps? Come sit." Joyce took her to the living room.

Vera flew into Joan's waiting arms. "Sis!" She squeaked.

Joan was already used to her squeaks.

"I'm glad you're back." Tears rolled down Joan's face.

Joyce peeled Vera off Joan.

"It's not time for a pity party." Their mother said. "I want to be with my daughter. The one with certificates."

"Mummy! Joan is a graduate too!" Vera frowned.

"Yeah and what has she achieved? She is a just kindergarten art teacher. You are in every single magazine! Who knows her? Everyone knows you!" Joyce bragged.

The door opened again and Noah majestically walked in.

"That's right" Franklin said. "She has nothing to be proud of. You my dear, are our pride and joy."

"But it wasn't easy! I had to go through a lot of classes. You have no idea how many certificates I have, Joan." Vera moved to her elder sister. "I dedicated all to you!"

"Why her? What about me? I'm more stylish than she is!" Joyce said.

Vera laughed. Joan also tried to laugh, masking the tears that threatened to flow.

Joyce pulled Vera from Joan one more time. "You shouldn't be around classless people."

"Everything happened only because of Joan." Vera said.

"The best she ever did was accepting to marry Noah with no opposition or complain." Joyce admired Vera.

She wore a white designer blouse with blue baggy torn jean trousers and black ankle heel boots and a small hat.

"C'mon mummy! She..." Vera turned to pick her purse but spotted Noah, standing not too far from them.

"You!" She angrily pointed.

🌹 44 🌹 Noah looked at Joan, with deep sadness and frustration. ‘Why isn't she waking up? Wake up Joan.’ It has been a month now since she went into coma after the surgery she didn't wake up from. Abel, who was sitting beside her watched him pace back and forth in the room. “Food is here guys.” Ajay walked in with a basket. “I do not have an appetite.” Abel turned to look at Joan instead, with his hands in hers. “You?” Ajay offered Noah but he shook his head. Everything he has done so far was because of Joan, just to have her once again in his life. He needed her and maybe she didn't realize this but he actually still do. Joan laid unconscious with the tears still fresh down her ears. Ajay sadly looked at her as he was ushered out of the room. “What is happening?” Abel soon arrived. “I don't know.” Ajay was panicking. “I came in and saw the heart monitor was unplugged and..and,,, and s-she was there..” “What did you mean you came in? I left you with her!!” Abel snapped. “I know! I needed to get something.” Ajay answered. “That's not a fucking excuse!” Abel shouted. “The fuck is wrong with you!? You should know better! You know we can't leave her side! And where the fuck is Noah!?” He looked around but Noah was already standing some feet behind them. “What happened?” His feet were rooted to the floor. “What the fuck happened?” He only took his eyes off her for few fucking minutes! 🌹 42 🌹 Noah looked at her once again and went back to pacing around the room. “You need to chill.” Ajay said to him. Abel and Ajay were sited opposite each other in the private hospital room. Noah ignored him and looked at her again. Abel looked everywhere but Ajay who was on the other side of the room opposite him. He tried all he could to stay away from Ajay. “Why isn't she waking up? It's been like what? Two days?” He clicked his tongue. “It's just been a day, Noah.” Abel answered. “This is even the least she'd been out. The max we stayed with her was three weeks. We stayed by her side for three fucking weeks until she woke up, so get used to this.” Ajay added. A nurse shortly walked in. “Mr. Grey? Come with me please.” Ajay and Abel looked at each other. Noah hesitated before walking out after the nurse. She took him to an office with two surgeons waiting for him. One seated behind the glass table and the second sat opposite him. “Ah, Mr. Grey.” The latter cal

🌹 41 🌹 Vera's eyes quickly moved to Noah and she felt anger boil slowly inside of her. She didn't know what hurt her the most, Noah's unapologetic behavior even after been caught in bed with her sister, or Joan's sudden arrogance. Noah helped Joan to balance on her feet again. “I will never forgive the both of you.” Vera angrily said. “The only thing I regret is sleeping with your husband, I am sorry. I am here to apologize and explain that I didn't mean to hurt you like that.” Joan said. “But you did, Joan.” Vera painfully said. “You did from the moment you walked out of here and I was forced into a marriage I didn't want!” “A marriage you didn't want?” Joan scoffed. “That was an opportunity for you, Vera, we both know that. And you grabbed the opportunity with both hands.” Joan sighed and moved around a little. “You could have refused the marriage. You weren't forced into it, you were pressured into it. I know what I'm saying, you are just used to a luxurious life and you

Joan made to climb down the bed but Noah pulled her back. “Let her go.” He tightly hugged her. “She knows now, there's nothing you can do about it.” “I can explain myself!” She struggled with him but he refused to let her go. “Tell her what exactly? She doesn't need an explanation now, she has seen with her own eyes. She'll be hurt and nothing you tell her will make her believe otherwise.” He said. “So you want me to stay in bed with you while my sister is hurting out there?” Joan cried. “What
