6- Edward of Blood Moon

Edward’s POV

I’m packing my sister’s room up. I’m doing it myself because I need to morn. When we lost our parents all we had was each other. Erin and I became very close. She has acted as Luna for two years despite her young age.

To pack or not to pack her James Lopez stalker file? I love my sister, but this is too good a prank to pass up. I add a special toy to this box and mark it JAMES. What kind of a big brother would I be if didn’t prank my baby sister. Maybe I should gift wrap it and add a bow? Nah. That’s too much.

I have all her boxes taped and ready. I can’t believe in a couple of hours I will be on the jet taking all of this to Silver Creek in the Southeast so my sister, my only family, my reason to stay alive, can start her life. My baby sister, is all grown up.

I look back at her room stripped and empty. I sit on the bare mattress and I feel them in my eyes. The door is locked and the room is soundproofed. I know I’m an Alpha but damnit this is my baby sister. I cry. And not manly single tears, no, I grab a teddy bear curl up on the mattress and sob like a baby for his mama. I miss my baby sister. I miss my parents.

When I finally have cried all my tears. I sit up and go to the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face. After I feel I look presentable I mindlink my Beta Ike to send up the guys to load the boxes. I leave the room and go to my office to make sure Gamma, Toby, has everything in hand before I leave.

Satisfied that the pack and territory will be safe for three days I head out with Ike and Delaney. Delaney is my bed warmer, dinner partner and date for this event. I don’t want to disrespect my host by screwing one of his Omegas.

Ike grabs a file sharing a knowing look with Toby.

“Let me guess my latest press clippings,” I snarl. Recently, most of my press had been. “Alpha James is Knight in Shining Armor Saving his True Love from her Evil Brother.”

“We need to counter some of this, or at least let Alpha James. He has been asking to counter since it started,” Ike pleads.

“No, I wont! It’s ridiculous. It will go away.” I growl. “I won’t dignify any of this gossip with a response.”

“This is why everyone hates you. You let them publish lie after lie. People believe it’s the truth.”

We get in the car with a waiting Delaney.

“Then let them.” I say. Delaney waits for instructions. “Just sit there, I might hurt you right now. Beta has made me angry”

I’m not one for angry sex. It’s dangerous in my opinion. What if I rip her apart or choke her? Nope best to calm down before I touch her. Normally, I would get a blow job in the car and screw on the plane. There is a small shower on board. But that was unlikely this trip.

Ike would not shut up about the headlines, the tabloids, the op-Ed pieces, he wants me to hire a press secretary. Someone to mange all this and hit back when they get it wrong.

“For this millionth time NO,” I say grabbing a drink on the plane. “It’s stupid”

“Your mate maybe reading this, so unless you are jumping to the human realm for a mate, you need to quash these rumors. This one said you are taking a chosen mate, and it’s a picture of you and Delaney.”

Delaney liked that, snatching it from Ike. Her smile was not hard to read.

“I’m not choosing a Luna. Delaney you know that as soon as I find my mate you are out of my bed right?” I ask her making sure we are clear.

“What if I have a pup?” Delaney asks seductively.

“Then I have an heir and a lot of explaining to do to my mate.” I answer. “But you are not the Luna of Blood Moon. Understood?”

“Yes Alpha,” Delaney gave the clip back and pouted. Yeah I’m done, not sleeping with her anymore.

I sit back and close my eyes.

Ike mindlinks me a few minutes later.

Ike- Alpha can I have sex with Delaney?

Me-Why should I care? Just watch out, that pup comment wasn’t an empty threat

Ike-Yes Alpha.

I hear Ike whisper to Delaney, who giggles. I remain with my eyes closed as my Beta takes Delaney to the bedroom.

He knows I’m done, no reason to deny him. She is very good looking.

We land three hours later and Ike and Delaney both look satisfied and relaxed. The truck pulling a trailer was waiting for us. Driven my none other than Alpha James himself.

“Welcome to Sliver Creek Brother,” James extends his had and I shake it. “Beta Ike good to see you. And?”

“Delaney Ike’s friend,” I say earning a huff from Delaney. Ike pulls her to him.

Delaney mindlinks this time.

Delaney- So you are done with me just like that.

Ike- Considering the pup comment absolutely. Keep enjoying Ike, you’ll never share my bed again

Delaney- We will see about that.

Once the trailer is loaded we load into the truck and take off to the packhouse.

When we pull up the circular drive I see my sister bouning on her toes in excitement.

“Your sister is happy to see you,” James smiles.

Standing next to her on the steps is Beta Kline, Former Alpha Richard and Luna Marie. Kline looks as stoic as ever.

I can’t help but jump from the truck before it stops moving and Erin meets me halfway. Everyone but Ike looks shocked as we hug tightly. It wasn’t until I saw her that I realized how much I missed my baby sister.

“I missed you too,” Erin whispered in my ear holding on tighter.

“Airy,” Squealed Delaney. Erin gives me an annoyed look and I put her down.

“Delaney, still using you assets to blow your way up the ladder,” Erin asks with a grimace.

“She is here with Ike,” I tell my sister.

“I guess your skills aren’t Alpha level after all,” Erin smirks as Delaney scowls.

“I thought you two were friends,” I said to Erin.

“Not since she put her mouth on you,” Erin said going to James for comfort.

James pulls Erin close to him. A man I don’t recognize comes out and stands next to Kline who gives him an annoyed look. He’s as tall as Kline, a little more muscular, will long silky black hair pulled back in a pony tail.

“Bout time,” Erin joked.

“My apologies I was fighting with my sister,” the man spoke and rolled his eyes.

Erin laughed, “over your hair.”

“And her choice of clothing. We compromised,” the man smirked.

“Let me guess you are doing it Kass’s way,” Richard laughs.

“No,” the man raised his eyebrows. “Kassandra will be joining us shortly in a pink dress!”

James, Erin and his parents all gasp. Kline who never shows emotion even raised an eyebrow.

“Kassandra Byatt is your sister,” I say still having no clue of who this man is.

“Sorry Edward, this is Taylor Byatt, Kline’s mate, so my second Beta, also Kass’s twin brother,” James introduces us. “Taylor this is Alpha Edward, Beta Ike, and Ike’s friend Delaney.”

“Ike’s second hand fuck toy,” Erin said rolling her eyes.

I smelled a secondary scent on Taylor. I had smelled it before. It had distracted me during a spar with Erin.

“Oh goddess, I know that face!” Erin said looking at me.

“I know it too,” Marie smirked.

“I know that look as well,” Kline said flatly. “But May I ask why you are directing it toward my mate?”

“What look is this exactly?” I ask trying to straighten my face, but the smell is intoxicating.

“Can we just note that Taylor is as confused as the rest of the males and Delaney,” Erin says smugly.

“Yes I notice that too. How horrible of you Kline,” Maria says still smirking.

“I still want to know why it is directed at my mate,” Kline is gritting his teeth.

“I still want to know what look you we referring to.” I repeat annoyed.

“You smell your mate,” Erin says snuggling into James. “James looks at me like that whenever he smells me.”

“Who were you just with? It’s secondary on you.” I growl at Taylor.

“My sister,” he trembles clearly terrified of me.

“Take me to her now,” I snarl.

“Hell no, you can kill me but you aren’t getting near my sister,” Taylor stood his ground. “No way I’m letting my sister near a homicidal lunatic who tries to Alpha command me to see her.”

His eyes glazed over.

“Who did you mindlink?” I growl now nose to nose with him.

“My sister. You’ll never get near her,” Taylor looks me in the eye. No one dared to look me in the eye. Even James who was my equal didn’t look me in the eye.

The group made an auditable gasp. But Taylor didn’t back down.

“James, I want to meet my mate,” I growl again still staring at Taylor.

“James, don’t you dare,” Taylor barks.

“Taylor that was disrespectful,” James calls out. “As your Alpha I demand an apology and that you respect Alpha Edward.”

“You can banish me, he doesn’t get near her.” Taylor eyes didn’t blink. He isn’t backing down. What the hell is he?

“Taylor,” I feel my sister close to us speaking carefully. “I know you are doing this because my brother is the ‘the world’s most feared Alpha’ but I promise you he would never hurt Kass. He will never make her feel anything but loved. The whole a**hole Alpha thing is blown way out of proportion by the tabloids. He is more like James than his press would show. Believe me. He will love Kass, and she will be the queen in his eyes.” Taylor still doesn’t soften. “Pat, Taylor and Kass don’t know their mother, but they are likely Alphas, so you are not going to win by projecting this aura. The only people affected are Kline, Ike and Delaney. I doubt Taylor even feels a ping.”

“Don’t call me Pat,” I snarl at her but I don’t look away from Taylor.

“Had to get your attention big brother,” Erin takes Klines hand and puts it on Taylor calming him. “Both of you take a breath and back down. Edward you first, show your in laws respect.”

She has a point so I brought my aura down, but not my eyes. Taylor blinks first.

“Please introduce me to your sister,” I say in a more normal voice.

Everyone let’s out a sigh when Taylor nods in agreement.
