INICIAR SESIÓNJust as she dared Caius, she was dragged out of the darkroom by one of the Alpha's men.
She would rather die than apologize to a man who should apologize to her. But he didn't know. He didn't know she was the daughter of the former Alpha and Luna of The Mistwood Pack. She didn't plan on telling him. “Move fast, lady!” A man shouted. Daphne snapped out of her thoughts and walked faster until they reached the door of a chamber. When the door opened, she was pushed into the room by the man who stood behind her. The one in front of her who now stood inside the room said words to another woman who made the bed, and then he walked out with the other man, leaving Daphne and just the other woman in the chamber. The woman, dressed in a servant outfit, smiled and looked at Daphne. “Be ready by midnight.” She urged. “The Alpha will be waiting for you by then. I shall come to take you to him. This is your new home.” At this moment, it dawned on Daphne. Over and over again, the weight of being brought to a place she was running from, dawned on her. But what could she do? “What's your name?” The maid asked. Looking up from the ground where her gaze fixed all this while, Daphne let out. “Daphne.” “Daphne.” The woman walked towards the door. “Let me know if you need anything.” The door was shut and she became alone, left in a world of her own as so many thoughts ran around in her head. Daphne rushed to the door. There was no escape. At least, not now, so there was no need to try. She simply locked the door and walked back into the space where she fell on the large bed and began to sob. Adrian, her cheating husband, did not seem as bad as she thought he was. Not any longer. At least, he never for once forced himself on her. He never made her a tool for sex, unlike the monster who would wait for her by midnight. She wished she had not left the pack. She wished she did not run away. She could have stayed back, but it would bring her right to this same pack at the end of the day. Which was better? What was worse was the fact that there was no way of escape for her. She would have sex with that wicked, dangerous man against her wish before the beginning of tomorrow. The same man who killed her parents. ♡ When it was midnight, someone knocked on her door. A call Daphne expected all this while, although she wished it would be postponed. “Lady Daphne?” That voice sounded familiar. It belonged to the woman she met in the chamber when she was brought into it. Left with no choice, Daphne opened the door. She was ready, after all. “Good evening.” Her soft voice filled the ears of the woman who led her way in. “It is time.” The lady did not smile. “You must follow me now.” She hadn't even had anything to eat. Not even water to drink. All she did was take a bath and change into one of the clothes she saw in the closet. Was this how sex slaves were treated? Daphne looked around the room before joining the woman who walked out a while ago. As both women approached a chamber she guessed belonged to the man she dreaded the most, Daphne began to shake. “Go in.” She guessed right. The chamber belonged to Alpha Caius. Although she knew, Daphne asked. “Alone?” Stunned by her question, the woman turned around and walked away without saying a word. The man who watched over the door of the Alpha's chamber opened the door without being asked while Daphne, on the other hand, led her way into the space with a look of uncertainty. Maybe she should die while being fucked by the Alpha who was nothing but a monster. That would be an escape for her. “Welcome to my humble abode—” Caius mocked when she was inside. Shirtless, he was seated on the bed with a cocky smile. “We're about to see who is stronger, aren't we, Daphne?” Daphne snapped. “Who told you my name?” Alpha Caius chuckled. “You still have a sharp mouth, don't you? Despite all that's about to happen to you.” He was on his feet and was reaching her side. “I am the Alpha of this Pack and I have my way of getting all the information I might need. You should know this.” Before Daphne could say a word, she was taken against her will. Her screams were swallowed by the walls and there was no way she could fight back the huge, dangerous man with little hands. Despite the screams, Caius did not stop. According to him, all of these were punishments for the way she spoke to him earlier. Daphne, on the other hand, was weak from everything, numb with tears in her eyes when Caius let her be. “I'll see you tomorrow night.” He said these words and rolled to the other side of the bed. When it was morning, Daphne was the first to open her eyes, or so she thought. She looked at the ceiling, scenes from last night reflecting in her mind while tears fell on her face. Was this the same thing Ophelia was coming to do? It looked like it. The monster lying next to her didn't look like someone who would want to wed a woman. The cold room made her body ache as she stared at the ceiling, but now, she had sat up and was looking at Caius who still lay next to her. Should she kill him? This will bring an end to all of her issues. She would escape once again. Maybe back to The Mistwood Pack since the man she was running from would be dead. But that wasn't possible. They were mere thoughts that would never come into reality. As she pulled herself together, Daphne forced her broken body to rise. While she headed to the door, someone coughed. Stopping in her tracks, she turned to look at the man who took advantage of her. He was smiling, relaxing on the bed with his gaze fixed on her. “Turn around, Daphne.” “Why would I want to do that?” Alpha Caius chuckled. “You're facing me already. I might as well have you remain like that.” The man adjusted on the bed. “There's an important conversation the both of us must have.” “I don't want to talk to you.” “You'll end up wishing you did if you don't,” Alpha Caius was on his feet. He walked closer and stopped when he caught up with the bed edge. “I've come to realize you'll never know if I don't bring your attention to it. I'm ready to do that.” What was he talking about? Maybe he was going to confess to killing her parents. Daphne thought as she faced him completely, her back leaning on the strong wall. “What are you talking about?” “Why didn't you sense it?” “Sense what?” Alpha Caius hesitated, and then he let out. “We're mates. How did you not sense it?” Daphne, at the sound of his words, was frozen in shock. What did this man say to her? She thought, snapped out, and looked up to face him. “What did you say? That's impossible.” “What exactly is impossible?” Alpha Caius was on his feet and reaching her side. “Telling lies is one thing Alpha Caius will never do. I am asking you now why you didn't sense it from the first room.” She didn't know. How could she have known? “Your wolf is weak.” “What do you mean?” “You're the one who can answer that, Daphne. Your wolf is weak. That's why you didn't sense it.” He stopped right in front of her. “Tell me.” “I don't know what you're talking about.” An already scared woman tried to move back, but she couldn't, not when she was pressed to the wall. “You don't know what you're talking about. There's no way on this earth we would be mates.” Alpha Caius did not care whether or not she was melting into the wall. He moved even closer, and looked at her from head to toe. “You're Omega Wolf, aren't you?” No, she wasn't going to answer that. “Talk to me, wolf. Are you?” “I'm not an Omega Wolf.” “Why then didn't you notice the bond we share?” He was getting too close, so he moved back. “You're an Omega Wolf. Come clean about it. Tell me the truth already, weak Daphne.” “I am not an Omega Wolf!” “Tell me then,” the Alpha took a seat on the bed. He moped at her. “What wolf are you?” “Wh—what do you mean?” “I want to know what wolf you are.” “I don't know the wolf that I am!” “Pathetic—” He walked towards his closet. “Your gut is not as shocking as it was to me any longer. It's always the weak ones who talk back at stronger people. Didn't you see the way you were screaming last night? Helpless.” His wolf snarled in frustration. Again, Caius hated the bond that he shared with Daphne. It was better he put it to an end once and for all. He let go of the closet handle and faced her. “I, Alpha Caius, reject you as my mate.” Before she could speak a word, Caius was gone from her sight. He snatched a towel from the closet and walked into the bathroom. Daphne only moped, shocked at what had happened in the space of a minute, maybe two. She suddenly could feel pain in her chest. Daphne collapsed to the ground, shuffling to breathe. What was wrong with her? As she sobbed, she thought about all that had happened to her in the space of a few days. Her chest burned from something she could not tell. But her hand did not leave her chest and her mind did not stop her from wondering— What was happening to her? It was the bond she once shared with the Alpha that shattered into pieces, but why did she have to be the one to feel such sharp pain? The weak wolf inside her cried out for help. It had just been separated from its supposed mate, against its wish. Daphne had not stopped sobbing, gasping for air as her soul fractured. One part of her wished the ground would open up and swallow her while she went into the land of peace, the other part of her thought about how alone she had become.Just as she dared Caius, she was dragged out of the darkroom by one of the Alpha's men. She would rather die than apologize to a man who should apologize to her. But he didn't know. He didn't know she was the daughter of the former Alpha and Luna of The Mistwood Pack. He could hear murmurs, but he didn't care. Why should he care about these women when none of them were related to him? Alpha Caius scanned the room. They were pretty women, with pretty tears clouded up in their eyes. But why should he care? As he was thinking, demarcating each woman and their tasks for him, his eyes stopped in the face of a woman he wanted to check out. It was Daphne. There was something about her. Something he could not lay his hands on. Something that made his wolf react aggressively. Who was she? But why should he care? Because he's seen so many women in the past, but not one as pretty as this exact woman. Aside from her beauty, there was something else about her that was different. Something he could not fathom. Something he could not place. Caius, for a moment, hesitated, then he walked closer and moved back a little, managing a smile he knew fully well he did not mean. He looked around the room once more, scanning each woman's face. After a long whi
She had walked for a very long time, and although she didn't know where she was heading, she was certain she had gone far from The Mistwood Pack and everyone that lived in it. The day had broken. She could see clearly. Walking through the unfamiliar territory, Daphne could not help but think back to a few days ago when she was betrayed by the few people she should call her family. Thoughts about it weighed her down more than anything would, but then she smiled at the thought of being free—from these same people. From her past. As she walked further, there was a noise ahead. Daphne, immediately, stopped in her tracks. What was that? Her thoughts raced. There were voices. Voices of men who moved around the area she was stuck in. Who else could it be? She thought. Fear gripped her as she immediately imagined these men to be men from The Mistwood Pack. Perhaps Alpha Edgar had asked them to look for her as she could have been discovered missing. That old car
“I have a right to make my own decision, Father, just as your daughter has made hers.” Daphne's voice resounded in the room with echoes. “And what is your decision, child?” “I will stay back in my Father's—”“Why is that?” Luna Whitmore questioned. The way she looked at Daphne reflected nothing but hate, but at the same time, there was Daphne who didn't care what the woman thought of her. “Tell me why you should stay back in this pack when so many lives are at stake?” “Mother,” Daphne spoke. “Your daughter is the one who should be there, not be.” “My daughter is pregnant. But there's you and you're not pregnant—” Luna Whitmore fought back. “You're not with a child. A child in Ophelia’s stomach is the reason she cannot go.” “But I am married!” Daphne shouted. “What marriage?” The Alpha stepped in once again. A slight chuckle ran out of his mouth. He looked at Adrian, his daughter before Daphne who moped at him. “A marriage where the husband no longer loves you? Because if he d
Alpha Edgar struggled to stand on his feet and when he couldn't, he leaned on the wall. As he looked away from Ophelia and avoided her gaze, he announced. “Alpha Caius will be here to take you with him in a few days, Ophelia.” All Ophelia could do was mop at him, them—the Alpha and the Luna who didn't move from a spot, but watched their daughter with pity in their eyes. The Luna then spoke. “We tried to tell you but we couldn't. And now we don't have a choice.” “I don't believe this.”Ophelia’s words hit the walls of the large room. She looked around and met the gaze of Adrian who simply watched, although covering himself with the duvet so that he was not naked. Daphne had a smile on her countenance. How could she not? Things were beginning to seem okay for her. The revenge and justice she deserved was about to be served, how could she not like that? “You sold me to that man, Father—” “You were not sold, Ophelia.” “So what is it?” Disappointment crowded her countenance. She
Daphne walked into the room, her breath catching in her throat at the sight before her—Adrian and Ophelia tangled in a moment of passion. On her matrimonial bed!The air was thick. It wrapped around her lungs like an iron fist, almost choking her to death. Her vision blurred as she struggled to process what she was seeing, though she wished she couldn’t.Adrian was supposed to be her husband and Ophelia, her step-sister even though things didn't work out well between them, but what happened to staying away from her husband? The air around her felt suffocating. Her hand went to her burning chest and she realized how in the act the both of them were, the more reason why they didn't hear her walk in. A raw, broken cry escaped Daphne’s lips. Adrian heard it immediately, his body going rigid. He froze, and his eyes widened with shock. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came. Daphne could see Ophelia, but there was no look of regret on her countenance. Instead, she adjusted on
