Dominic

Friday night, we were at Mom and Dad's and this time, Gaius joined. It was good to see my parents, refreshed from their trip to Norway. Characteristic of mom, the dinner table was overflowing with roasted dishes, vegetables, risotto and other delicacies.

"Oh mom," Gaius started "I missed your cooking. I've been eating canned soups for about one week. My deadlines doesn't give me much time to cook." I watched him flash Violet a grin from where he sat opposite her. "But Violet comes to my rescue."

Mom gave him a mock glare from her seat, wooden spoon in hand as she ladled food on dad's plate.

"Canned soup for a week? Dios mío, Gaius, you need to get yourself a woman and quit living like a caveman."

Gaius chuckled, leaning back in his chair with a lazy stretch. "Don't worry, mom. I've got my eyes on just the woman for me."

I watched his gaze flick to Violet with a smirk on his face. Violet's eyes dropped to her plate, pushing the beef around with her fork. I wanted

Violet "Hi, Diego." I called as I pressed the phone tighter to my ear, while juggling carrying my laptop and manuscript to the car. "My editor thinks it will be good to add more detailing in the dance chapter and I'd really need your help. I'm coming over to the studio." I rushed in one breath. "That's totally fine, but I'm not at the studio. I'm at home."I stopped. "Oh." It never occured to me that Diego had an actual home. He seemed to me as the guy who could be just fine living in a tent in the middle of nowhere or a camping van. "Would it be okay for me to come over? This seems kind of urgent." "I'll text you the address."He did, almost immediately and I got in the car and set my destination on google map. I drove for about thirty minutes before pulling up to the gates of a modern home surrounded by pine trees. It had expansive glass, wood and steel exterior that was an architectural masterpiece. For a second, I doubted I was at the right place until the gates slid

Patrick "Thank you." I hung up, blowing out a breath as I dragged my hands down my face. The house was quiet, save for Valera's soft snoring, where she was curled up under the covers, finally asleep. She barely slept last night. Every hour or so, she'd jerk awake, breathing harshly. She told me she dreamt of a screaming baby, one we couldn’t find. I didn’t tell her I had the same dream. I ran my hands through my hair. The investigator had said he’d follow the lead from the courier service that was used to send the picturr of our one year old boy, in that orphanage in Boston. We were kids ourselves, broke. He’d had complications after birth. And we couldn't afford even basic treatment, let alone a lifetime of care. Valera and I thought we were giving him a better chance. But nothing had ever felt right after that. Until we had the money, power, status, Dominic, Gaius and a new life where we didn't talk about the child we gave up. Then the picture came to upset everything we h

Dominic By my doctor's orders, I was working from the silence of my home office two days later. I worked through the files that needed my signature and the important emails Ava had forwarded to me. I also got a report on Diego from Marcus. I found myself disappointed there was not much to know about the guy, even though I had a negative hunch about him. I busied myself with other things, until I heard a soft buzz sound from down the hall. I knew Violet was home, but other than a check up from her in the morning, I'd not seen her. Curious, I rose from my desk and started down the hall. As I neared the room, I heard it. The unmistakable sound of her moan. My cock jerked and I gnashed my teeth at the thought of her on a video call with that Diego again. I advanced, slowly. My hands on the handle of her bedroom door, I pressed my ear to the door to listen harder. The humming continued, mixed with her gasps. Then, it slipped out - my name. Barely audible, but I caught i

Violet At home, we stepped out of the car, still exchanging jokes about his ex. Gaius walked me to the front door, my hand in his, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Tonight was..." he began, stopping to brush a strand of hair from my face. I nodded, smiling. "Yeah. It was."He leaned in and I met him halfway. Our lips locked together in a slow kiss that tasted faintly of the wine we had at dinner. Just as I started melting into the moment, the sound of footsteps made me jolt. Too late. I turned and locked eyes with our housekeeper, a trash bag in her hands. She inhaled sharply, frozing on the spot. Her judging eyes moved between me and Gaius. Flustered, I tugged my hand from Gaius grip, trying to recover. Gaius seemed not to mind. He slipped his hand around my waist as he hugged me. "Good night, Vee." he whispered, and then, with a parting glance, disappeared toward his wing of the mansion. "Good night." I turned back to Margaret, who was still eyeing me."Yo

Violet "Gaius." I exclaimed, surprised to see him waiting when I stepped outside, Diego behind me. Gaius was dressed in black jean trousers and jacket like he was heading out. "Hey beautiful." He extracted his hands where they were behind him and thrusted a bouquet of red rose forward, catching me by surprise. "For you." "Thank you." I collected it, aware of Diego's presence. I chanced a glance at him, but his face was calm. He extended a hand to Gaius. "You must be Violet's husband."Gaius took his hand without bothering to correct him. "It's a pleasure." Then his gaze came to rest on me. "Picking you up, my goddess. How does dinner sound?" "Dinner?" I asked, my shaky voice mirroring my feelings. "Yeah. All that dancing requires fuel.""Well, I guess I don't need to walk you out anymore." Diego said cooly. Too cool. "Yes, buddy. I'll take it from here." He reached for me, his palm on the small of my back. The touch soothed me as much as it confused me.
