CHAPTER 75

ZYLIAH'S POV

"Is this your new house?” I asked as he led me into a beautiful apartment with brand-new furniture.

Everything gleamed and shone, the whole place looking unoccupied.

"Yes. I decided to get a new place for you and me. New beginnings,” he said, turning to face me and drawing me close to him until I was breathing in his scent.

"Oh." My lips curved in a small smile. "What happened to your last place? This isn’t where I remember you staying."

"Uh… I got tired of it and bought this,” he said. His phone rang, and he pulled it out, checking the caller ID before swiping the red button—too quickly for me to catch the name.

"You'll need clothes. We should get you as many as you want," he proposed, caressing my jaw, affection shining in his eyes.

"That's a welcome idea," I agreed, letting him pull me closer. "Umm... I have a request to make."

CHAPTER 138SABRINA'S POV"Hey, Mom." I entered the hotel we had recently just moved into.We couldn't afford the first hotel anymore, and so we had to find an even cheaper hotel than the previous one."Hi." She studied my face. "How did it go?"My mouth widened in a grin. "As planned."She was still studying my face. "Then what happened to you? He hit you again?"I shrugged. "Mom, it doesn't matter. I'm just happy the plan worked. Moreover, I believe he'd go back to loving me and being the husband he used to be before these childbirth issues ruined everything. And that stupid Zyliah." I frowned in confusion as I remembered how Fynn had accused me of kidnapping Zyliah—which was true. But then he hinted at her being missing again. Although I might be wrong, I think that was probably true. I mean, she hadn't been home when I'd covertly snuck into the house."Do you think it is worth staying with a guy who hits you whenever he gets the chance and leaves your face and body in a terrible s

CHAPTER 137ZYLIAH'S POV"We need buyers, David.""But sir, after the news that has gone global about the missing documents and Mr. Williams not being interested in selling, potential buyers are fleeing from the deal. It's getting to be a problem, sir."The phone was on loudspeaker, and he was in his room making this call. For the past few days Martino wore a worried expression while making shady calls. While it wasn't my business to interfere in whatever concerned him since I literally didn't care about the man, those secret calls piqued my curiosity. At first, I'd thought it was concerning my company. Something relevant that would help him and my dad carry out their evil plan, I thought to listen in and relay it to my best friends so it would keep them steps ahead. For now, they were the only ones I trusted to keep my company safe, but I couldn't tell them I had regained my memory. Not just yet.But what I'd discovered was even more surprising. Martino had sent Sara to steal those d

CHAPTER 136FYNN'S POV"Where is my wife?" I demanded of the first maid I saw, the question tearing from my throat. I'd already turned the house upside down—our bedroom was empty, her favorite spots deserted."Sir, some men came here to take her away," she said, a quiver in her tone."Some men?" My nerves began to knot, thread by thread, as the seconds passed by. "Who were these men, and why wasn't I informed?""Th-they were in black. Mrs. Delson tried her best to escape, but they came with a gun, and at the time, Naomi was there too. She said Mrs. Delson agreed to go with them so they wouldn't hurt her or anyone," the maid explained."Where's Naomi?" At this point I was trembling inside, but I couldn't show it because of my maid."She's still in a state of shock, sir.""Why didn't anyone call me?" I queried, trying to turn my fear into anger. "My wife was kidnapped in my own home, and none of you could care to help her. You didn't call the cops or me! Now she's gone. How the hell did

CHAPTER 135NATALIE'S POVI had been sitting beside her, staring at the wall for the past forty-eight hours since her rescue. The doctor said she'd sustained some serious injuries, and she would need to heal properly. Delia had been barely conscious when I forced Jordan to take me to where his brother had locked her.He made me promise not to call the cops, warning that if his brother found out, he might kill Delia. Delia's safety was paramount, so I didn't inform the cops. But as soon as I got her to the hospital, I called the cops and even told them their whereabouts. But when the cops got there, there was no one in the building. The whole place had been wiped clean of any evidence that could trace back to them or give any hint of their location.I was furious, but that anger was tempered by the profound gratitude of having Delia back. Revenge would come, that was for sure. It might come late, but it will surely come. For now, my concern was Delia.I was yet to call her family. It h

CHAPTER 134ZYLIAH'S POV"How do you feel now that you've signed this?" He asked, obviously pleased with himself."Nothing," I voiced dispiritedly. "I feel nothing.""You know." He came over to join me, and I tried to put some space between us. "This wasn't supposed to go this way, but when one makes the mistake of having a son like Fynn, it leaves one no choice. I've always admired you, so this shouldn't be that strange.""It shouldn't be? From son to father? Whatever this is between us, it's forbidden. It shouldn't be happening." Maybe if I made him see reasons why this couldn't be, he'd let me go."I agree it is unusual, but that doesn't mean it's not happening. This happens all the time. There are people out there who end up with their father-in-law or uncle or cousin. Or whatever branch of the family tree the person grew out from. And they live happily."The cheerfulness in his tone made me turn to him. The jerk was smiling. How could he be smiling in such a situation? It was the

So I kept silent, my heart pounding. They were not hurting me now, but that didn't mean they wouldn't hurt me once they had reached the destination.I wished they would tell me what the hell was going on. That they would say something, or at least give a hint. In my head, I tried to think of who might have sent them. Was it Sayge? What if he'd found out that I'd been released from prison alongside Fynn? After all, I was a bit certain that Fynn wasn't his target. I was.He was the only one I could think of that could do something like this. Was he so disappointed in the police force that he had to do this himself?
