“Mr. Cross, this is Tim Lakeman. We met at the café,” Tim said over the phone.

“I remember,” Daniel said cautiously.

“Are you free this evening? I would like to discuss an opportunity.”

Daniel hesitated. “What kind of opportunity?”

“The kind that solves problems. Same café where we met. Eight PM. Come alone.”

The line went dead before Daniel could respond.

Daniel stared at the phone in his hand. His first thought was that he should ignore it. He wanted to tell himself it was a trap. But then he thought of the calls from the loan sharks and their threats. He knew he could not ignore Tim.

At exactly eight o’clock, Daniel pushed open the glass door of the café. Tim was already there, seated at a corner table. He raised a hand and gestured for Daniel to come over.

“Sit down,” Tim said.

Daniel took the chair opposite him. “What’s up? Why would you contact me about an opportunity? We barely know each other.”

Brian opened the door to Ace’s office without knocking. Ace and Emma were sitting across from each other. Their conversation stopped the moment he entered. He closed the door behind him.“We need to talk,” Brian said. His voice was calm, but it had an edge.“What is going on?” Ace asked.“It is Mia,” Brian said.Emma looked up. Ace did not move.“She has been leaking information to Rafael,” Brian said. The words sat between them.“I have proof,” Brian said. “Messages. She has been sending him information. Some came from my place. Other parts may have originated within the company. Either way, she passed it straight to Rafael. She has been giving him details about both Blacke Tech and Oceanic Group for weeks.”“Are you sure about this?” Emma asked.“I am sure,” Brian said. “I read the messages myself. There is no mistake.”Ace stepped away from his desk and walked to the window. He put his hands in his pockets and looked out at the city. He did not speak.“This is bad, Brian. Worse tha

Then Emma’s phone rang again. She looked down at the screen and froze.“It’s Brian,” she said quietly.Ace raised his brows. “Pick it up. It might be important.”Emma answered. “Brian? Why are you calling me?”Brian’s voice came through the line, steady but serious. “I didn’t call to bother you. I was hoping to speak with both you and Ace.”Emma frowned. “Do you want me to pass the phone to Ace?”“No,” Brian said quickly. “I’ll speak to Ace later on my own. But if he’s with you now, you can put the call on speaker. What I need to say concerns both of you.”Emma looked at Ace. His expression was guarded, but he gave a small nod. She pressed the speaker button and set the phone on the table.“We’re listening,” Ace said, his voice calm but firm.Brian paused for a moment before speaking again. “I think there’s something you need to know. And it can’t wait.”Emma and Ace exchanged a glance. She leaned forward. “What is it, Brian?”There was a silence on the other end. Then Brian’s voice c

Julian knocked on the door of Emma’s office and entered. Emma was busy with her phone; she looked up at Julian. “Why is your face like that, Julian? Is there something on your mind?” she asked.Julian closed the door. “Yes. I thought you should know about something I overheard.”“Okay, what is it?” Emma asked.“I was at a friend’s birthday party last night. It was a casual party. I was not expecting to hear anything about Oceanic, but someone brought it up.” Julian said.“Someone at a random party was talking about Oceanic?” Emma asked in surprise.“Yes,” Julian said. “And not just small talk. She spoke like she worked here or like she had access to information that should not be shared at a party.”“What sort of information?” She asked,Julian said, “She talked about board meetings. She mentioned Nathan. She even mentioned you and the tensions with Rafael. She knew details that made me wonder who she was.”“Did you know her?” Emma askedJulian said, “Not really. I only caught her fir

Nathan's Phone vibrated against the table. Nathan stared at it until the screen dimmed, then lit up again. He knew it was Rafael before he even picked it up. He felt his chest tighten as he slid his thumb across the glass surface of the phone.“Finally,” Rafael’s voice came sharply, “I was beginning to think you had lost your tongue.”Nathan swallowed. “I’m here.”“You sound tired," Rafael said." I'm fine. What do you want now?" Nathan asked."Do you know why you are tired? Because you live between two fires. Sooner or later, both will burn you... "“I told you already that I stand with you. What else do you want?” Nathan cut in.“Words don't count,” Rafael said sharply. “Cheap words. I want proof.”Nathan gripped the phone harder. “You want me to betray Emma again.”“Not betrayal,” Rafael corrected. “Information. Survival. Don’t fool yourself into thinking Emma trusts you. She is just tolerating you, nothing more. And Ace, he is worse than Emma when it comes to trusting people. He

The finance department of Oceanic Group is very lively today. Everyone is very busy.“Daniel,” Karen said from across the desk. “Did you finish the review for the meeting?”Daniel turned and smiled. “Yes. I finished it this morning. It is ready.”Karen sighed. “Good. Harlan is restless today. He will want exact answers.”Daniel nodded. “Then we will give him answers.” Daniel’s phone buzzed. He checked and saw a message. The message read, “Payment overdue. Final warning.”He set the phone down and pressed his palms against his forehead. “Fuck! I’m in deep shit.”“Daniel,” a colleague called from across the table. “Are you coming to the meeting?”Daniel forced a smile. “Yes, I will be there.”He picked up the file in front of him and walked out of the office. On the outside, he looked calm, but inside his mind was racing.Mr. Harlan entered the room. “Everyone, conference room now. Bring your reports.”The team stood and gathered their files. In the conference room, Harlan cleared his
