Contract Deal

It's early morning, when the sun hadn't completely risen yet and the sky was painted with different shades of black and orange. Ashley was still asleep and enjoying the cold morning breeze and sounds of birds singing. She enjoy early mornings, She will always say it is the birth of a new day. After a long time of darkness, you can finally see the light, the sky has always been her friend, She talk to the sky as if it exist as a human being. After much struggle, She opened her eyes gently.

Ashley woke up looking forward to her day, her head hurt from last night's party and her body temperature grew hot as she remembered how She drank herself to stupor. Oh God, how could she have drank so much knowing she is going to work today?.

Slowly, She turned in bed expecting to find someone sleeping next to her but as always, She was the only one in bed. She looks forward to a day She would share a bed with a man. She knows that would never happen because she had no interest in man and not interested in what fool do that they call love.

"Love are for fools" She guffawed.

'But what is this feeling she felt last night, may be because she helped me' was all She thought.

She knows she felt different but she don't want to admit the fact that her heart can yarn for someone. She run out of bed leaving behind all her bad thought, She was still confused as She walked to the bathroom to have a hot bath. Not possible was all her brain was telling her, It is not right, what her body keep telling her, She will follow her brain that says otherwise.

After taking a hot bath, She dressed up and studied herself in the mirror. She looked as beautiful as always, the dress and make up makes her more beautiful, Now it is time to go to work.

"Ashley Brown, you are ready to go" She stated as She makes her way out.

It was a bad day for Agnes, a really bad day. Agnes is Ashley Brown's Secretary and she is in charge of a contact suppose to be signed. Her boss, Ashley should sign an almost finalized deal, She made sure the contract papers are ready a day before, it just a formality for both parties to hold a meeting and sign the contract. It was a big deal for the company, the deal is from one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world.

The meeting was supposed to hold in the Afternoon but when she checked her emails this morning, there is a message from the Secretary of Mr Austine that the contract signing would be delayed.

She was left dumbfounded for a while, She knows she is in trouble. Ashley her Boss has asked early about the meeting and she assured her that nothing is going to change it. This change in time confused her. She thought of telling her boss but she knows Ashley will not take it easy with her, She is already in her boss Black book and She know how edgy Ashley is.

Several thought begin to run through her mind, She then decided to call her lover in the company to get some information about what is going on, what She heard from him  shocked her.

"Our CEO was pressurised by some third party to cut off the deal, you can wait for another opportunity or talk to the CEO" He coached.

Tears run down her cheek, She thought about all she have invested in this contract, a third party 'who could that be?'

"Who is this third party." Shemanaged to ask.

"Hmmmmmm" He cautioned thinking if he should let the cat out of the bag. "He's the CEO of BB investment." He mumbled.

"BB investment" She howled.

Her anger and resentment were at peak, She thought who the third party could be and how cruel the person is. She looked at her wrist watch and sighed.

It is almost noon and nothing is coming, She knows this contract will not go through, She decided to inform Ashley what more She could have done?,She had no choice.

In Ashley office,

Ashley stood there like she was glued to the floor, a shiver ran down her spine, her ears couldn't believe what they heard. She held her tears in bay, gasped for air for a while and tried hard to control herself, She wanted this contract more than anything else. How could someone changed the plan on the day of the signing, She knows Her company deserve it. The more She think about it, She became angrier, yet tried not to show it. She was angry at Agnes negligence, She should have inform her earlier.

"Where is David?" She asked.

David is one of best Ashley project manager and He is in charge of this project.

"He texted me not to long that he will have to drop your project for a better offer" She cooed.

"Better offer" she ranted.

She felt betrayed, frustrated and disappointed. She trusted David so much and place a huge honour on him, She should have listen to her friend back then that told her People are not reliable. David left her company because of money.

"Who gave him the better offer?" She managed to calm herself and asked

"BB investment, the same company that cut off the deal." 

"BB investment" She muttered.

"How dare he? He take over my project and buy off my project manager with money. Does he think money does it all, Money is not the answer to all sickness." She shouted.

'I will so deal with him, He does not know who Ashley Brown is' She swear under her breath.

"Get me all information about him" She commanded

"Yes ma" Agnes make her way out of the office quickly.

"He must pay for this." Ashley muttered.
