Funeral parlor

"Please.. " the man pleaded once again, holding his breath.

Peace eventually stopped screaming, but her whole body uncontrollably shuddered. She was trapped in between panic and doubt for this unexpected event.

She just planned to search for her life companion in a funeral parlor, but this was worst than that. There  is an injured man in car right now.

"I just need to get away, far away from here".the man explained in between his heavy breath.

"You can go to your original destination, I won't bother you". Fighting to retain his consciousness while speaking with her. He paused, gritting his teeth due to the striking pain on the side of his obdomen.

"I will leave once you get to your destination, I promise. I just need to go far away from here".he swore, mustering his strength despite his current physical suffering.

Peace swallowed a month full of saliva before she slowly nodded her head. It wasn't that she trusted him or anything, but to her if she stalled some more time, the man's strength would decrease.

Thus, even if he was tricking her, she could defend herself in other aspects,if he was just acting, peace was confident to defend herself if he happened to let her go. But either ways, trust won't be able to help her in this case.

"Thank you". Slowly the man loosened the pressure on his hand that was on her lips, revealing half of her face painted with blood.

If anyone have seen her now, they would mistake her for as a vampire that just finished having a fresh meal.

After waiting for some more time with his hand hanging close to her mouths incase she makes an attempt to scream. He was pleased that she didn't scream or did anything funny for now.

She was much more clever than he had expected. Although peace haven't done anything yet, the man still kept his guard high to see if she would try anything silly.

Unexpectedly, she didn't take any funny move. Instead, she started her car despite her shaking hands. He could still see them since, some rays of light outside shone down on her.

"Baby lock the door and turn the lights off", the moment peace started her car engine, her lights automatically turned on shining all over. She would have loved to turn her back and see who was in the car, with her but she was too scared to to that.

However, instead of turning off she tdidn't and turned on the music to calm her nerves. Music somehow calms her most if the time. Hence, at a time like this, unless her demands turns off, she wouldn't.

After all she needed to clear her head if she wished to survive tonight. Christ, she was really passing through oceans just to fine her Mr. Right.

"Calm down, self. Inhale and exhale and then breath", peace repeated her mantra inwardly as she slowly drove out of the The parking lot. Fortunately, the man didn't complain and remained silent from the back seat.

Only the 2021Hit song  from Enisa suffered the car, attempting to lighten up the mood but to no avail. No matter how cute the song was, it failed to completely easy the atmosphere.

Perhaps singing along with it to stop her anxious heart. Thus peace, with her shaky flat voice join the song in a whisper.

"You've got me stucked in the....

Love cycle.

Lo lo lo lo love cycle".

But how ever because she could continue the man intervened.

"Please don't sing", with the pains from his wounds he could not bear his ears being in pain at the same time with his arms. "Please" he added again when he saw that she was looking at him like she was not going to stop.

"Okay" peace said and kept her cool.

If it was a normal day, she would have dragged him out of her car and Even kick his dumbass. But this case was definitely different because here she was the hostage. She was at his Mercy, for that she didn't feel any bit of insult.

Soon peace reached her first destination for tonight. The man didn't give her a specific address nor did he tell her to take him anywhere.

He just remained silent all through the ride, like he was not even there in the first place. Silently suffering there at the passengers back seat. So peace could not think of any other place to go than to continue with I first plan of going to the funeral parlor.

Yes, the funeral parlor.

"We... I am here sir" peace whispered with fear as she informed him that she had gotten to her destination.

She didn't dwell on his earlier promise simply because peace never had the habits of believing in people's promise. All she wanted to do was to observe for a while so she could gravitate on her next move.

The man slowly opened his one eyes and peeked outside, carefully blinking for a clearer veiw. Moving his face up, his brows slightly creased upon seeing the blinking singage of the establishment,"heavens call funeral home".

"Why was she here? Dose she think he was dying? The man was so out of words that he could only stabilize his breath and forced himself to move. By the looks of it, he was abiding by his promise to leave her alone if she took him far away.

Regardless if this was her real destination or not. The man was grateful enough for her help.

"By the way thanks" just as the man reached for the car doors handle. He expressed his sincerity with great efforts.

"I will surely re....." Behold before he could complete his sentence, his vision shook before it went blur and his head felt lightened.

In the next second, blackness was the last thing he saw before he lost consciousness. Since he already unlocked the door and slightly opened it, it caused his body to fall out of the car which made peace scared.

"Sir?" Glancing at the side mirror. Peace could not see the man's figure outside and also he was not inside the car so where could he be.

She took courage and turned to look at what happened at the back seat.

Upon seeing the seemingly nice injured guy has collapsed, she got a little bit more scared and quickly unbuckled her seatbelt before rushing out.

Peace gasped, covering her mouth with the both of her hands as she thought that the man's landing must have been very painful. Not to mention, his current state was obviously in a bad situation.

"Sir?" Without any wasting of Time. Peace rushed to him as she helped him back to the seat .

"Hey.... Wake up". peace panicked. She never knew she would ever do something like this but she did, she picked up the injured man with strengths that she didn't expect that she had.

"Oh ... My" peace said out of breath. She buckled her seatbelt the only thought in her head right now was to take him to the nearest hospital for medical assistant. However, for a moment. Time ticked at a funeral pace as, "as the slow motion moment" took place.

When peace glanced, set her eyes, and was graced to see his glorious features. His face seems to glimmer, just like when pirates opens up a chest full of golds and it glows. Shining brightly with a choir singing in the background.

"Groom".
