Happy birthday

It's been ten days since Peace's first encounter with the man she call Browny, during that time, she will occasionally drop by and check on his health. Because of the ever righteous and immaculate favour, peace was forced to make it has an oath to keep her romantic intensions on hold until he recovers.

And to make that possible, peace kept her distance by not going into the hospital room. She will just peek inside and then she will leave.

However, this particular day peace didn't hesitate to enter were he was resting as if it was her home. Glancing at the man, he was leaning his back on the beds  headboard and had his eyes on her figure.

The moment she entered the room and until she dropped herself on the couch not far from the bed, he just kept staring at her without saying anything.

"Don't worry, I won't eat you today", without looking at him peace could feel his eyes on her so she defended herself.

"I am not worrying, I am wondering why you are here", blinking once, he responded. His tone was flat unlike that night and their conversation days ago.

By the looks of it , this was what it truly was. A stiff, boring guy who was too honest for his own good. Yet, peace could never care less. She had encountered a variety of weirdo's and meeting another one wasn't that if a big deal to her.

"You're wondering why I go to places I am paying for?" Peace stretched and tilted her head back that was resting on the sofa armrest, by this she could see him, although upside-down.

"Don't get too cocky, Browny. I still pay for this room and all your fees since you can't pay for it just yet", closing her eyes, peace muttered as blunt as possible.

For some reason, peace wasn't as cheerful or playful just like the usaul. She seem tired and slightly queit which was more intriguing to him.

"Roy, my name is Roy ", He corrected. He doesn't have a say to her other statement as she was doing him a huge favour for financing his medical bills and needs.

"Don't hear you", obviously lying, peace responded as her shoulders relaxed. She preffered the nickname she had given him just because it sounded cute, at least to her, it sounded cute.

After that last remarks, silence resounded across every corner of the hospital room. Roy, not saying anything yet, continued to stare at her unmoving head.

"Is she sleeping?",he wondered inwardly.

Slowly, the man carefully assisted himself out of bed. Dragging the IV stand with him, he carefully approached the unmoving figure.

As soon as he drew closer, the man saw an angelic sleeping face. If she is like this, one would think how pure and innocent she was.

However, after the dangerous stunt she pulled, the time she preffered his service. Roy will not be deceived at how kind she is looked when sleeping.

As the man looked at her,he sniffed which made him drew a little bit closer to her. But, just as he head was just a ruler away from hers, he instantly retracted his head why waving his hand in front of his nose as she reeked of alcohol.

Just then, a loud ring broke the silence around and caused her at slowly open her eyes. As she regained her vision, she saw a pair of reddish brown eyes looking at her.

"You really have nice eyes", without short notice, no pause and hints, peace said as she stared at him, particularly his eyes.

"Your phone", instead of falling for her compliment, he reminded as the ringing continued.

"Ohh..." Snapping back to reality, peace rolled her body to her side with great difficulty, reaching for her phone on the back pocket of her jeans.

When she successfully pulled her phone out, peace didn't check the caller  as she answered almost immediately."my friend".

"Happy birthday, peace". Favour's lively voice came from the other end of the phone. "Wait , are you drunk?", Instantly her cheerfulness vanished as she distinguished the difference in peace's voice.

"I am not. I am not drunk but I had a few drinks",

" Peace" A heavy sigh escaped from favors lips as she frowned. It was peace's 25 birthday today and yet, Favour as usual couldn't celebrate with her as she was in the country side, celebrating her father's birthday.

That's why she is always celebrate with peace next day or days after the birthday when finally they were less busy. Still, she felt bad for not being with her for her birthday all the time.

"Yeah, feel bad you heartless friend would be sentiments, peace sabotage it by living her sarcastic humor.

"Uh... Peace how could you do that?" Frustrated Favour didn't take it to the heart but instead, but instead she humored back.

"Because you disturb my sleep. Anyways, I am catching up as much sleep as I can before my leave would end ", peace chuckled and listened to whatever Favour said before the call ended.

As soon as she cut the line short, peace tossed her phone to her feet and turned her head to the side, arching her brows that Roy sat at the opposite couch.

"Hey, do you want to eat out?" Without further ado, peace inquired which made him crease his brows. He felt that peace's mouth most have spil the wrong words.

"Apparently",

"My treat", just before he could refuse, peace offered and without batting an eyes, the man responded.

"Alright",
