Silas's point of view

The conference room smelled faintly of polished wood and something sharper lingered in the air. Clove oil, maybe. Severin sat across from me, posture as rigid as the high-backed chair he occupied. Everything about the man screamed control, from the even tone of his voice to the way he held his glass without spilling a single drop.

"So.. How you have been. I heard your ex-mate will become your luna." Ah, the nerve touch but I resisted the gut wrenching punch to his throat.

"She was never ex, always my mate. And, we are her for not having a dicussion about my mate, Alpha Severin." I growled and he lifted his hands up in aurrender.

We exchanged the standard greetings, the kind politicians and Alphas used to mask the fact they’d rather be anywhere else.

“Your borders are looking… sturdy,” Severin said, sipping his drink like we were old friends catching up.

I gave him a thin smile. “I’d return the compliment, but half your patrol didn’t notice I walked in.”

  • CHASING HIS LUNA BACK   THE TRAP THEY SET FOR ME

Silas's point of viewIt didn’t take long to slip into Severin’s chambers. The man clearly believed his own propaganda about “impenetrable security” , which made it all the easier for Dalton and me to stroll right past the last guard like we owned the place. I barely had to touch the handle before the door gave a soft click.Inside, Severin was hunched over his desk, scratching away at parchment. Probably some desperate plea for help or an apology in florid handwriting. His nostrils twitched a fraction of a second before his eyes snapped up, scenting me in the air.He startled. The pen clattered from his hand, the parchment crumpled in his fist like a guilty child hiding stolen sweets.“What?” He rose halfway from his chair. “What are you doing?”“Cut the question.” I stepped forward, blade in hand, the moonlight glinting off the wolfsbane coating. “Let’s start with what you’re hiding.”He froze. Then, like an idiot, he glanced toward the fireplace. Which, of course, was where I’d be

  • CHASING HIS LUNA BACK   THE WHITEMOON PACK

Silas's point of viewThe weight of my departure sat heavy on my shoulders as I stood in the war room, buckling the last strap on my leather harness. The air outside the open window carried the tang of the early evening breeze, but it didn’t ease the tension knotting my chest. Every instinct I had was screaming that leaving Aurelia behind right now was a risk. She had tried to hide it, but I’d seen the flicker of worry in her eyes when I told her I’d be heading to Whitemoon Pack. Concern was something she rarely wore on her face, at least, not openly but this morning, it had been there, raw and unmasked. When I kissed her before heading out, it was meant to reassure her. A brief press of lips, lingering just enough to promise I’d come back in one piece. She didn’t speak, just held my gaze for a moment that said everything her lips didn’t... Don’t die. Don’t let this swallow you.But this mission couldn’t wait. Roderick was a growing infection, spreading through the rogue ranks like ro

  • CHASING HIS LUNA BACK   FEELING HOME

Aurelia's point of viewThe chambers were warmer than I remembered, the air thick with the faint scent of cedarwood and something richer, like an earthy undertone that always clung to Silas. It was in the walls, in the folds of the curtains, in the fibers of the carpet. It was home, in its own strange, dangerous way.I closed the door behind me and let my eyes sweep over the space. A wide bed dominated the far side, draped in charcoal-grey sheets that looked as if they’d been smoothed with military precision. The fireplace crackled with a slow, steady flame, sending shadows dancing across the walls. This was his space, his sanctuary, but starting today, it was ours. That thought sent a small flutter through my chest.Crossing the room, I stopped at the tall oak cupboard in the corner. It looked ancient but well cared for, the wood polished to a deep sheen. I opened it, and a faint creak escaped as if the cupboard itself was adjusting to my presence. Inside, his clothes were arranged i

  • CHASING HIS LUNA BACK   THE STORM BEFORE THE SILENCE

Silas's point of viewAs I turned to head back toward the upper levels of the packhouse, I stopped by the infirmary briefly. Aurelia wasn’t there anymore. Of course she wasn’t. She hated the sterile air and bright lights. She preferred the earth beneath her feet and wind on her skin.I found her later in the backyard of the estate, playing with our children. Sara was laughing as Kael chased her, his little legs thumping across the grass. Aurelia knelt down, helping Sara ti

  • CHASING HIS LUNA BACK   STILL SILENCE

Silas's point of viewThe sun had barely begun its ascent when I stood at the window of my chamber, watching the orange hue spread across the Blackfang territory. The wind carried the scent of pine, earth, and faintly, the warmth of home. For the first time in years, that scent wasn’t hollow. Not entirely.Aurelia had returned. Not just in body but in spirit. She smiled more. She laughed again. There was something new in her, something I
