My heart raced rapidly as I walked into the company. It has always been from one problem to another and this time around, it's about my mom. She's dying and I needed money urgently for her surgery. I can't risk losing her again just like I lost my Dad years ago.

Three days ago, on visiting her house, I found her lying lifelessly on the floor. Having her rushed to the hospital, the doctor confirmed she was diagnosed with cancer.

Luckily, it's still at the early stage and the doctor advised me to pay half a million as part deposit for her surgery as soon as possible so they can commence the treatment immediately else, it will get deteriorate.

I tried raising the money by myself but all to avail. I might have been married to the richest businessman in the country but that's just it. There's nothing enjoyable about him. Sky Locason, is a very young talented man. He's very good looking and every girl in this country lick his feet, including me his wife but, that's just it.

Not having any other choice, I rushed to my boss's office also my husband with a sense of desperation. I have never done this ever since we became married. I have never asked for anything from him even though he's rich and can afford anything in the whole world. He controls all of his late father's wealth including the one he owned personally before his demise. On the other hand, I was still nothing but a secretary to him.

On arriving at his office, I knocked on the door and not waiting for a response from him, I barged in. In my mind, all that matters is how to save my dying mother.

"Sky, I nee-" I stopped in my mid-sentence as my jaw dropped from the scene in front of me.

I just caught my husband with another woman, both naked on the couch.

She's not just an ordinary girl, she's Angelina- The only heiress of Mr Smith Hamilton; The CEO of Walmart & Co. Ltd.

"S...S... Sky?!!!" I shrieked.

No, no, no. This can't be happening- I mentally said to myself as tears began to well up in my eyes. I looked from my husband to the girl he was cheating on me with whilst shaking my head vigorously.

I tried not to believe what I just saw but it's the reality. I can't believe that he can cheat on me. Yes, I know he doesn't love me as much as I do. I love him so much but to him, I mean nothing.

He never liked me because I was a girl forced on him by his father. It was an arranged marriage set by his father 3 years ago who used to be my boss and my late father's best friend before his demise. To Sky, I was nothing but a nanny to his daughter.

Yes, he used to have a girlfriend who had a baby for him but unfortunately, she died after giving birth to their beautiful daughter- Hailey.

Hailey is like my blood. I love her so much and I can do anything in the whole world for her sake. I nurtured her right from when she was a month old so, I see her as my child.

"W... Wh... What do you think you're doing?!!" I burst in anger. I balled my hand into a fist as I tried to control my temper even though my eyes filled with nothing but daggers right now.

He didn't answer me and neither did he seem bothered about the fact that I just caught him with another woman. I watched as he got up from the couch to pick up his dress from the floor.

"And who allowed you in, bitch?!" The girl he was with fumed whilst I still stood there glaring at Sky.

I turned to look at her as my lip twisted in a scoff. "What?!" I furrowed my eyebrow at her. "You have the gut to ask who let me in when you're busy sleeping with a married man?!" I bursted again. My face already red from anger- I could tell.

"Shut the fuck up, Kyla Jackson. How dare you raise your voice in my office?! Do not forget your position in this company, you're just a mere employee- my assistant. Don't do anything to jeopardize your job. You wouldn't want to get fired, would you?" i heard Sky asked with no sign of remorse in his tone.

"W... What?" I stuttered whilst I stared at him stunned. There was no sign of remorse in his eyes or in his voice.

How could he do this to me?

"How dare you even barge into my office without my permission? You still seem to forget that I'm still your boss no matter what. Now, get out and knock properly. Wait until I tell you to come in before doing that" he ordered.

"Yo... you're... Tell me you're joking?" I stammered.

"Does this look like a joke to you, bitch? He ordered you to leave. Just fucking do it without arguing. Get out! OUT!!" The girl ordered.

My eyes widened in shock. I shifted my gaze from her to Sky who raised his brow at me questionably and then, uses his head to signal me to leave. I wanted to disobey him, slap him and this crazy girl in their faces, leave a bruise on her but then, I can't afford to lose my job. I take care of my mom and other expenses from this job.

I have to always figure things out by myself despite being married to the richest man in the country. He wasn't supportive or concerned about my existence.

I slowly walked out of the room with tears gushing out of my eyes and down my cheeks. My legs begin to tremble alongside my entire body. It's just hard to get the scenario I had just witnessed out of my head. I know he never liked me but, never in my wildest dream have I thought he would cheat on me.

I waited for a few seconds to calm myself down before banging on the door this time around but I got no response from them. Tightening my hand more into a fist, I banged on the door again for the second time and heard Angelina's voice yell mockingly. "Come in, bitch!"

I twist the doorknob and walk in slowly. My legs were shaking but I tried my best not to make it obvious. Walking in, Sky was already fully dressed and now sitting right close to Angel. No sign of remorse on his face.

"Now tell me Ms Kyla, what brought you to my boyfriend's office?" Angel asked, a wicked smirk plastered on her face.

Boyfriend?!!!

I glared hard at her as I tightened my hand into a fist again. "I'm not here for you. Can you just stay out of this!" I replied through gritted teeth.

"Then I believe you're not ready to solve whatever problem brought you here. Leave my office now and come in only when I ask for you" Sky said to me in a bossy tone.

"SKY PLEASE..." I started in a hard tone but stopped in my mid-sentence as I tried to control my temper. "Please, this is about life and death. I need to speak with you urgently. Just you... and I, privately" I beseeched him, my eyes lashing with desperation.

"Babe, can you leave for now? I will come over to your place later in the day" As I heard him say that last sentence, my anger rose again but unfortunately, there was nothing I could do. My priority at this moment is my mother. I need to save her at all costs.

"What?! But why should I leave? " She whined.

"I know. And that's why I'm making a request. Please, just understand the situation" He beseeches her, leaning closer to her, and steals a kiss from her.

My heart struck from pain. He has never looked at me with such beautiful gaze. All I ever got from him was complaints and anger.

"Fine" She got up from her seat and took her bag. Giving me a hard glare one last time, she walked out of the room, now leaving Sky and I all alone in the room. I watched as he walked arrogantly to his chair and took a sit there.

"So, what do you want to talk to me about, Ms Kyla?" He questioned in an emotionless tone.

I can't believe he could do this to me. Despite all the terrible things he's done to me in the past, this is the worst of it all. It was known to everyone that I was his secretary but despite my low status, I was still good at my job. I studied Economics and I'm very good when it comes to business strategies. I did a good job to stabilize the company while Angel got the credit for it.

I should have known that something was going on between them.

I sauntered closer to him and said. "I need your help. Please, lend me some money. I promise to pay back as soon as I can" I begged in desperation.

He stared at me for a few seconds and suddenly burst into laughter. This is the first time in our three years of marriage I saw him laugh because of my words.

I ended up furrowing my eyebrow in confusion.

What's wrong with him? Did I say anything funny?- I thought. And before I could say anything again, he beat him to it.

"You want me to do what? Lend you my money?! Tell me you're joking" he said amidst chuckling.

"No, I'm not! I desperately need this money. I will pay you back please" I begged again desperately. This is all I can do. To save my mother, I'm ready to let go of my ego before him. He's the only one who can save my mom.

"You would return my money, you say? And how do you plan on doing that?" He asked me, mockingly.

"Please Sky, this is not the time to make a joke out of me. MY MOM IS DYING!" I yelled out the last statement as tears finally fell out of my eyes.

He stared at me for a few seconds and a sigh escaped his lip. Believing that he was going to be a human for once and help me out, I was about to thank him even before he could give me the money when I heard him say. "I don't care to know what's wrong with your mother. My money is meant for business only and not to take care of sick people" He said without sparing me a glance and no emotion laced in his tone.

"W... What?!!!"

"You heard me right. I can't help you"

"Sky please, you can hate me all you want. Do anything you want but please, just save my mom. She's the only one I've got... PLEASE!" I begged and in a swift move, I was already kneeling before him.

I just need to save my mom. I will go through anything for her.

He suddenly got up from his seat, picked an envelope from his drawer and then stood in front of me. "Fine! You want me to help you? Of course, I will but, only on one condition" he said, looking deep into my eyes.

"Co... Condition? What condition is that?" I stuttered.

"Here" He threw the envelope at me.

"What's this?" I questioned, a confused look plastered on my face.

"Our divorce papers. Sign them and I will give you the money"

"What?!!!"
