PRISCILLA’S POV

Brent opens the door to a room and I enter, the sense of foreboding not leaving my chest. I take a deep breath and look around the room trying to ground myself and realize that this giant room that could pass as a suite is a bar???

I follow Brent with my eyes as he takes a seat at the bar table and opens a bottle of wine. I take another deep breath since the previous one didn’t do anything and go and meet him, the bottle of wine bringing unwanted memories to my mind. We had met for the first time at a bar and after that, everything had gone downhill seemingly. I couldn’t believe he would think us taking alcohol right now could even be considered.

“I’m not drinking with you.” I called harshly and sat down. The earlier we talked, the earlier I could go and meet my babies.

Brent glanced at me emotionlessly. “There’s no alcohol in this wine and I remember you don’t like drinking soda when it’s late.”

I scoffed internally. That was years ago. While struggling to make s

I have a meeting with some investors.” She replied in a shaky voice and paled even further as she realized her word slip.“I don't care that you picked your life back or have a meeting with investors so you can stop looking like I'm trying to ruin your life.” I responded harshly, a little insulted by her scared look.Priscilla nodded. “I'll move back but I will need a few weeks to pack up and settle our lives before we'll be ready to move.”I narrowed my eyes, she sounded genuine but I wasn't sure I could believe that. “You'll forgive me if I find it difficult to believe your word given that a cheater is no different from a liar but I'll need to be more involved in your move. I looked for you and couldn't find you so it's reasonable that I fear that you'll disappear

PRISCILLA’S POVI dropped the dress I was folding and dragged Aiden from where he was scattering the clothes I’d already folded. “Will you stop that? Please.” I added since I knew he was doing it because he was in pain.Avery glared at me and dragged Aiden towards her. “We don’t want to go. What of our teacher? And our friends?” She ended in a wail which almost made me smile, but I kept it in. I didn’t want them thinking I was making fun of them. Here in California, they had friends from school as well as a large area to play and have fun with each other and their brief stay in New York only had them staring out of the city in a car and through the hotel window which didn’t help since we were on the twelfth floor, and they were convinced they would be miserable in New York.I squatted until I was eye level with my babies and grabbed their hands. “We have to move to New York because mummy’s new office will be there.” I hadn’t told them about their father, and they had eventually stoppe

PRISCILLA’S POVI kissed Avery as her eyes closed and she settled into sleep and turned to her twin brother who was staring at me in expectation.I rubbed my nose against his and snuggled him closer to me. This wasn't their first rodeo on an airplane as I'd had to travel for so many work meetings and the only person I could trust to take care of my babies also had problems of her own and wasn't in the situation to take care of mine in addition.“Are you ready?” I asked Aiden whose eyes were already lit up in excitement and he nodded.I smiled and picked up the book we'd started reading earlier that week. Aiden could read perfectly by himself but he preferred it when I read to him and I consider it an honor as well as a time to destress and spend time with my baby. Avery was a little different in her likes and dislikes and while she didn't mind reading books, she much preferred drawing and painting. Another thing that the two didn't have in common was the fact that Avery fell asleep im

BRENT'S POVI followed Priscilla with my eyes as she suddenly turned to the back. I couldn't exactly turn back to see what had startled her, but I could guess the kids were the reason. My guess was confirmed when she turned back to the front and whispered. “Later.”I nodded and refocused on taking my wife and our kids to the house they will call home, hopefully for a long time. The most important thing to me right now was getting closer to my kids, and I could see that it was going to be a difficult undertaking, since Priscilla probably wasn't on my side in this journey. Either way, I was going to make this work and make her understand that I only wanted the best for them.I slowly pulled into the house and parked the car, not surprised when Priscilla opened her door immediately and came down as soon as I turned to her. I swallowed the laugh at that expected behaviour and watched as she helped the kids down. She was doing a great job at distancing herself away from me and as much as

BRENT'S POVI swallowed down the frustration I was fast losing control of and held my hands down to help Priscilla up, which she ignored.“Why don't they like me? Have you said something about me to make them decide that?”She sucked in a breath and stood up by herself. “Why would I do that? They usually take to new people easily. Maybe you should have a look at what makes two 5-year-olds not like you.” She replied, angry fire filling her eyes.I took a deep breath to control my anger, regretting the words as soon as they came out of my mouth. “Then I'll have to wonder how you've been raising them.”Priscilla turned to him, and her palm would have landed against his cheek if he hadn't been fast. “Don't you dare tell me how to raise my kids. I've taken care of them for the past five years without your help, so you have no right to tell me how to raise my kids. You should be grateful I decided to move here. Any more insult and I may just disappear, just like before.” She added, the hate

PRISCILLA’S POV“As we’re well aware that the fashion show is in one month, please, I want us to hurry up and focus on our preparations. Nothing must go wrong. Please, let’s put all our plans into action, is that understood?” I urged my employees via a Zoom meeting. My fabric manager, Lexi, raised her hand to say something and I focused on her, giving her the chance to talk. Since I moved to New York a month ago, we’ve had to meet virtually, which honestly wasn’t bad, but nothing could beat our physical meetings. I’ve then learnt not to complain, as it didn’t change anything. “About the materials and patterns we agreed on, I went to see some of the suppliers here but some of them have been bought so it won’t be enough.”I pulled the laptop closer to myself. “Didn’t you make a reservation for it the last time?” I asked, confused. Those were our regular suppliers.Lexi nodded from the screen. “I did, but they said someone also made a reservation for that same pattern, and they had misca

BRENT’S POVI dropped the file I’d been reading, looked at the time on my clock and decided to call Priscilla knowing she would be home alone since the kids would still be in school.I was about to dial her number when my secretary, Evelyn, knocked and entered my office.“Sir, your next appointment is in thirty minutes time.”I checked my calendar and saw that I had a meeting with some potential business partners. I was looking to expand my business into technology in addition to our diversified products. Originally, the company had been built by my grandfather and he had majored in resorts and hotels, as well as some luxury products like sunglasses. When my father had taken over, he had added some brand management to the business as well as restaurants and when I’d taken over, I’d added fitness products, health supplements as well as arts into the scope. Now I wanted to expand more into sustainable technology and I wanted to work with someone already established, however small. As lo

I shuddered out a breath and shook my head. “That’s not what I was after.”Brent smiled and nodded. “Sure. I just thought you might have been feeling that way. If not, then, that’s also okay. So are we in?” He asked, referring to the insurance plan.I needed a moment to think about it, which was all I’d done since he’d mentioned it on the phone. He had sounded pretty sincere about not wanting to take the kids away from me but rather fulfilling his own paternal responsibility, so I could trust him on that, at least a little, but I still had some things to worry about. The most important issue on that list was Avery’s hearing aids. Since Avery was still growing, she had to change her hearing aids often to suit her ear size and improve comfortability and while I wasn’t in any way ashamed of my daughter’s hearing inability, it still sometimes made me feel like I’d failed her as a mother and God forbid I admit that to Brent, so I did the best thing I could, accept his offer.“Sure. We can

PRISCILLA’S POVI was on cloud nine! My head and heart was going through the roof as his tongue and fingers worked wonders in me. I grabbed the chair tightly, hoping I wouldn't scream louder than I already am. He took his tongue off, giving me a moment to breathe only to get back to it immediately in a way that sent jolts flying through my body. I moaned and screamed even louder but somehow his hands managed to reach up to my neck and choked me. I coughed slightly with tears dripping out of my eyes but he suddenly started driving his finger and tongue, in and out of me at the same time and I lost it. I screamed, almost ripping off the fabric of the couch. My hands flew to the head on impulse and buried him even deeper between my legs. I was dying! He didn't stop despite my screams for him to stop, of course I didn't want him to but I was becoming breathless as time passed and it felt like life was seeping away from me until he added a third finger and drove it slowly inside me be

BRENT’S POV“Brent stop. You're holding me too tightly. Why the hell are you dragging me out? What is wrong with you?” She yelled but the loud music drowned mostly half of her voice. I couldn't stand seeing or hearing her speak to that creep shoes eyes were undressing and fucking her already so I stormed off, pulling her closely behind me and the only thing on my mind at that moment were things I wanted to do that in private and have the name of that idiot wiped from her memory. She obviously didn't understand why I was pulling her out if the event that'd barely just gotten started like five year old but at least the only thing she was doing was complaining and not kicking and throwing tantrums like an actual five year old. “You'll thank me later” was the only thing I muttered in response when we finally made it to the parking lot. She snatched her hand away from me at the slightest chance she got and was about to return to the party when I pulled her fast and dangerously close to

  • CHASING MY EX-CONTRACT WIFE   Chapter Sixty-Seven

BRENT’S POVI was losing my mind, but in a positive way. God! She looked so ethereal. In all of my entire life, I'd never seen anyone look this good. The dress was everything it could be but her body killed it. I could barely take my eyes off her as she kissed the twins goodbye and for the first time, their presence didn't matter a lot to me. All I wanted at that moment was to take her right there. I felt a bulge rising in my pants just by looking at her. Everything about her screamed beauty but what stood out most to me was the slits on the dress. It went both ways and exposed a fairly dangerous amount of her thighs, my eyes roamed all over her body as I just couldn't get enough. She looked like a goddess! My goddess! After this night, Evelyn was definitely getting a raise for picking out such an incredibly amazing dress. She watched the car drive away with the kids before turning to come into the car and the way her curves fit and swayed perfectly in the dress, I could only t

CLARA’S POVI don't know what came over me at that moment but all I knew was that I wanted to get back at Brent. I knew my dress would be sent in a couple of hours so I decided to do as much work as I could before leaving. I called Claire again but she didn't answer so I made a mental note to call her later. After cleaning the house and disinfecting the kids room to avoid getting a relapse in Aiden’s health, I decided to do something I never thought I would. I called Anna, Sam's wife and bit my fingers nervously before she answered. “Hi, who's this?” Her sweet voice came up and I almost ended the call. “Uhm, hi, it's Priscilla. Brent's ex wife.” it sucked to introduce myself as his ex wife and not the head of the biggest fashion brand in the world but that would soon happen. “Oh, hi, Priscilla. It's been awhile since I heard from you. How are you and how are the kids?” She asked and her calm demeanor made me feel relaxed for a bit. “We're fine, thank you. Actually, the reason I'm

PAMELA’S POVThe next time I woke up, I was in the hospital with tubes and monitors connected to my body and all sorts of foreign sounds ringing in my head. I couldn't look around because it felt like my head was stuck in place. All of a sudden, my head started to ache and my heart started beating faster. I clutched my chest tightly while slapping on the bed to call for help. The monitor beside me was blaring loud and I became even more scared. Am I dying? I asked myself. I peeked as much as I could but there were no doctors around me and tears started falling from my eyes. Finally, a doctor noticed what was happening and rushed into the room. Shit! I heard him mutter. “Her heart rate is dropping. Intubate her.” That was the last thing I heard before I crashed out. I found myself in a dark place with no form, no wound, no light, nothing, it even felt like I was an alien for being there. Out of nowhere, I felt a deep gash through my stomach and when I looked back, I found Kent hol

  • CHASING MY EX-CONTRACT WIFE   Chapter Sixty-Four

BRENT’S POVI couldn't believe Priscilla just ended the call on me. She sounded so upset like we had an argument that last time we met. All through the ride to the office, I kept thinking and wondering what could be gone wrong but there was nothing in my head. When I got to the office, Evelyn was already in my office and she had a big grin on her face. I, on the other hand, wasn't too excited to do anything. “Uh uh, someone doesn't look too happy to be here today. Looks like you had a bad night, well that's not my fault is it? Let's get down to today's business.” She said and I hurried to my chair. “What are we doing?” I asked, pulling apart the chunk of files on my table. “You still have about twenty minutes before your first meeting so I'd suggest that you go through some of these paperwork before then. That way you won't have to return to excess work later.” She read out. “Okay, great, where do I start from?” I asked, confused on what was happening. My head suddenly felt hazy

  • CHASING MY EX-CONTRACT WIFE   Chapter Sixty-One

PRISCILLA’S POVMy heart was screaming fear and the hope of Brent helping her was the only thing keeping me going. Brent assured me he's had men sent to help her but I still couldn't bring myself to a relieved stop. Claire's boyfriend kept throwing things around and yelling and I could hear Claire's tiny whimpering and it almost made me break into tears. Balls of sweat were trickling down my entire body despite the full air conditioning in my room. After a while, I finally heard what sounded like doors opening and eventually a fight. Ten minutes later, Claire's boyfriend's voice disappeared into oblivion. It was then that I finally heard Claire's full breathing which eventually turned into a bout of tears. I couldn't bring myself to say anything because my tears were also stuck in my throat and crying together won't solve anything so I stayed quiet while waiting for her to be calm. “We've gotten to her, ma’am. She's safe now.” I heard one of the men speak into the phone. “T…than
