CONNOR

I watched as Athena's figure disappeared into the shadows of my hall, the scent of dark magic and deceit she carried on her like an intoxicating perfume. Witches. Always scheming. Always thinking they're the smartest in the room, believing every other person beneath them. Fools. If only she knew....but two can play the game. I'd keep acting a fool just to get what I need; there's no point pointing out her exaggerated assumptions, not now.

She is wrong on so many levels but on one thing, she was right-I did want more.

Hailey.

She was more than a queen-the woman was a force of nature, raw and untamed. The way she had humiliated me in front of the council… the way she had made me kneel without lifting a single finger… it should have enraged me. Should have made me want to rip her apart.

Instead, it had done something much worse.

It had made me want her.

Not to see her broken or defeated, but to others closer, take that untouchable power away and make her mine.

A slow dark smirk sp

JACKSON The silence after Hailey's departure hit like a tidal wave, crashing down on every soul in that grand chamber. Even the walls, laced in gold and draped in ancient silks, felt like they were holding their breath. My mother's last words rang in my ears: firm, cold, unforgiving."Serenia will leave with her children. Ryan remains."And then she was gone, her regal gown sweeping the marble floor as if daring anyone to challenge her command.I couldn’t move. I stared at the empty space she'd walked through, heat rising to my face, my jaw tight. I wasn’t even aware I had clenched my fists until I saw my own knuckles turning white. Every ounce of respect I had for my father drained out of me like a slow leak of poison. But worse than Ryan's betrayal? The fact that Jaden had known. And said nothing.I turned toward him.He stood with his arms crossed, posture infuriatingly calm. Alexia was by his side, tension radiating from her as she glanced nervously between us. Jermaine remained seate

ISAIAH The heavens were too blue. Too ideal. The kind of day poets composed about and lovers longed for.But in all its perfection, I felt it—like a crack in the foundation of an ideal world.Something wasn't quite right.I stood just outside the grand hall, a ceremonial blast swooping around the red pennants that fluttered from the palace turrets. Hailey's re-coronation was already underway, and despite the rumours of recent betrayals and whispers behind velvet curtains, she stood tall and radiant. The Queen of all sorts—unsullied by time, untainted by scandal.Until they arrived.I needed no foresight to feel that something terrible was coming. I knew it in my bones. My stomach churned. My heart ached.A shift in the wind—a cooler, heavier wind. The music stumbled. The crowd's hum was replaced by anxious silence. And then they came through the ceremonial arch.Audacious.With a triumphant smirk plastered across his ageless face. The same smirk I’d seen before every destruction he orchestrated

SERENIAI stood at the edge of the royal garden, clad in flowing silk and flashy jewelry I hadn’t earned, my three beautiful sons cooing beside me. Each a perfect replica of Ryan—the way his jaw cut like granite, his dark, tempestuous eyes, and the wolfish smirk that could melt the resolve of the most disciplined soldier. Jaden is shocked speechless as he watches them avoid his attack by taking up a force filled shield. They were flawless. And they were mine. Mine. Not Hailey’s. Not the Council's, not Marissa, Lyna, Logan or any of the busy bodies, not that sickening brat Turtela. Mine.I smoothed my hair and squared my shoulders. Today was supposed to be Hailey’s big day—the pompous, over-the-top recoronation of the so-called Queen of All Species. What a joke. Three years of secrecy, three years of keeping my children out of sight, and for what? To spare her feelings? To preserve some illusion of her perfect little dynasty? No more.I strolled onto the dais without invitation, without

AUDACUSThree years.Three long, measured years since Serenia arrived at my doorstep, eyes wide with terror and something far more useful: desperation. She came to me broken, bleeding fear, dragging the consequences of her betrayal like a chain around her ankle. Pregnant. With Ryan’s children. It was divine. I had planned a different way to rule, yet she brought me a simple and swift solution to steal control of our world, and boy, the irony of it all! In spite of his claims of never-ending love, Ryan betrays Hailey, and it stuns even me when I reflect on the fact that the idiot doesn't understand that she never had a choice when it came to the children she had with me and she was thoroughly unconscious when the whole ordeal happened. Yet instead of helping her heal, he turned his back and went to Serenia's bed then the fool got her pregnant. Hailey buries the story, but I don't react, for three years I raised his kids as mine, got their loyalties, and made them my foot soldiers to do

RYANI’d never known silence could be so deafening. The hum of the engine, the crunch of gravel under the tyres, the faint creak of the old gate as I stepped into the palace grounds—all of it felt unreal and surreal. Like I was walking through someone else’s nightmare. Except it was mine. All mine.I didn’t expect the event to feel so heavy. My limbs dragged with every step I took, my chest felt constricted, and the palace loomed ahead; a place that once meant sanctuary now felt like judgement incarnate. The guards straightened as I passed. They didn’t say a word. I didn’t need them to. My shame was written in every line of my body.I walked in. My boots echoed against the marble. Hailey’s scent still lingered—jasmine and something wild. I paused outside the study door. For a second, I thought about turning back. Pretending none of this had happened. But that wasn’t who I was. No matter how badly I wanted to crawl out of my skin.I opened the door. She was sitting by the fire, wrapped in h

  • CLAIMING HAILEY    CHAPTER 217: SERENIA FLEES

ISAIAH The scent of incense lingered as I stirred awake in the candlelit silence of my chamber. Visions don’t ask permission—they come like tidal waves, dragging you under with their weight just as always. Tonight, one had come with fire, grief, and a cold truth I could no longer ignore.I sat upright, my head pounding as the echoes of the vision lingered in my mind. Serenia. Ryan. A kiss stolen in shadow. A motel room drenched in guilt and silence. The look in Ryan's eyes—vacant, then furious with self-loathing. And Serenia's… triumphant. Calculated. There was more. A darkness that slithered from their moment, fracturing bonds not just between lovers, but across the pack, across the realms. Nothing will ever remain the same after this as he has broken the most sacred bond. The vision had come like a storm, not with the usual whisper of the future, but like a scream. A scream from the balance of hidden depths itself.I rose, drawing on a simple shirt and cloak, leaving the sanctity o
