Ava's POV

The journey was long and tiring. It made me sick of carriages.

The familiar sound of hooves and the erratic bumping of the carriage forced me awake as I stared out through the window with a frown.

"We still aren't there yet?"

"Unfortunately, no," Avala said as she bit into her breakfast—if you could even call it that.

Avala packed beef jerky rations, and that was all we had for food. She wouldn't allow us to go into any of the Packs we came across because it was going to leave a trail, and we couldn't have Dravin sniffing out that trail.

Instead, we rationed our already meager supply, and I couldn't help but feel starved, even though I actually ate the lion’s share of each day's ration. My morning sickness was becoming much worse with each passing day, and now all I could think of was getting this child out of me. I felt weak and irritable every morning, and I suspected Avala only tolerated me because she understood my situation.

"I can give you some of my ration for the da

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    You can't Die, Elora

Dravin's POV Dread clothed me as I grabbed the wheels, my knuckles turning white. I dreaded going out to check if it was truly Elora lying on the forest ground. But I knew the importance of time. A few seconds could be the line between death and survival.I bit down my lips and jumped down my horse. The forest was still filled with morning fog that settled in the air and leaves. Each step towards the sight ahead was heavy. My heart froze. But my feet couldn't. I hoped it wasn't Elora. Losing Elora would mean losing her and the chance to make things right. I didn't know if I could bear the losses. As I approached the figure, I saw the blood pooling around it before I realised it was a wolf. A wolf. I started breathing again while I tried to think around common sense. Elora though a princess. She couldn't shift. She couldn't be that wolf. I crouched over the wolf. A rogue wolf. It was dead. But the sight didn't alleviate my fears. If anything, it made me more scared. This scene co

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    I loved You

Corvin's POV I saw out Ben and Vivian, following them downstairs and escorting them to their car as we chatted briefly. I was unable to take my eyes off them as it made me uncomfortable to see the way Ben had his arm wrapped around Vivian's shoulder. He also seemed to be quite affectionate towards her, asking her how she was feeling almost every minute as we walked. The jealousy I felt only increased every second I spent with them.Vivian had introduced him as a friend and judging from his lack of reaction to that, I could tell that she wasn't lying. I just don't trust Ben's presence.I don't know if he truly only sees Vivian as a friend and with how hands on he's been with her since he hugged her, I was sure there was more to it for him."Oh, Corvin," Ben turned to me like he just remembered something. "What can I give to reward you for taking care of her? I can understand that it can be tasking to care for a stranger you know almost nothing about? I would like to do something to

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    Quit That

Corvin's POVThe mere utterance of those words had put the whole room in a tense mood that day. Linda's face darkened and Vivian narrowed her eyes while I simply kept my poker face, choosing to observe rather than react."How can we be sure that you both are not the traitors working together to ruin while acting like our allies?" Linda asked with a deep frown etched unto her face. "Personally, I don't trust you two one bit."Vivian gave her a deadpan glare in response."Look no one is after your husband. I'm only helping out.""Maybe because those bastards killed my father, ruined my life and I've been locked in freaking white room while battling with my mental stability while all of this was going on! Is that enough reason?"Vivian seemed taken aback by her outburst but didn't reply to her. Instead, she turned her attention to me."I don't trust you.""I know that," I replied. "You don't like me either, anything else, Luna?" "I'm pretty sure you are the culprit," she hissed. "I know

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    When Life Crumbles

TEN MONTHS AGOAvala's POV The past few days since my altercation with Corvin went by uneventfully. I avoided any interaction with people throughout these days. Living in isolation helped me think about a lot of things and I needed to think since my altercation with Corvin has caused my thoughts to be all jumbled up and made me quite a wreck.I've never seen Corvin like that. He has surprised me a few times by showing emotions I thought he was incapable of expressing, but he has never been that shaken before. I understand that he must be troubled with all the information we got from Jace, that vile bitch, but I can't help but think that a huge part of it had to do with me. And that kiss......It's been so long since I've felt his lips. I could never forget the feel of his lips but I was still mesmerized by them when our lips connected. And that annoys me.I should hate Darrell. He's living his life with a woman who warms his bed whenever he wants while I'm stuck here longing for h

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    True Colors

Lyanna's POV"Ugh," I groaned at the sound of those words. The last thing I wanted right now was having to meet anyone after getting into my residence."She's coming upstairs, sir," Soren said and the door opened slightly as the familiar blue eyes peeked in. "Busy?" she asked from the door."It's not like you care if you came all the way up here without asking first," I sighed as I sat up. "What do you want?""Brought you some food," she smiled, walking in and revealing herself completely. She was dressed in a strapless short black gown, that exposed a good portion of her cleavage and barely covered her ass. She also had a flask which apparently contains the food."Which one is it?" I asked. "You or the flask?"She looked behind her at Cara who still stood at the door waiting for an order. "You can leave now, Cara. Go get some rest.""Oh, yes, ma'am," Cara nodded and hurried away. "You can choose," she said looking back at me. "Just keep your primal instincts in check and don't mark

  • COME BACK OF THE SCARFACE PRINCESS    When The First Became Lasts

Avala's POVFlashbackI laid back on my bed when my phone rang and to my pleasant surprise, it was Dravin who was calling."Hey, Dravin," I said excitedly. "How have you been? It's been a while since we talked.""Yeah," he replied. "I've been okay, and I'm sorry I took so long to call. I've had a lot going on since the last time I saw you.""I understand," I laughed it off. "So, how has things been for you?""I should be asking you that," he replied. "You're the one who was in a pretty precarious situation the last time we met. How has things been? Is Ben making good of his promise to protect you?" "He's trying his best," I shrugged. "He isn't omniscient, you know, and he's a busy man too. He can't watch over me 24/7. But I'm handling myself just fine so you have nothing to worry about.""I need to make sure of it," he replied. "I wanna see you again and be sure that you are okay. We should go out today.""Oh," I smiled. "Are you asking me out, Dravin""Just for a wellness check," he
