Liam was still holding me tightly, as if he was afraid that if he let go, all of this would turn into a dream that would disappear. His embrace was warm, calming, and slowly melted the exhaustion that had piled up over the last few days.

I exhaled softly against his chest. “I didn’t expect you to prepare all of this. I even forgot today is my birthday.”

Liam loosened his arms and looked at my face, still wet with tears.
