The next day.

My thoughts still lingered on the memory from a few months ago, when I finally found my father in the forest, only to lose him again. Until now, I hadn’t dared to search for him, honoring Liam’s and my mother’s request.

My reverie shattered when Dr. Jonathan called me. “Come with me to the delivery room. There’s an interesting case.”

I immediately followed him. The moment we stepped inside, the air hit me antiseptic mingled with sweat and the tense atmosphere unique to labor wards.

On one bed lay a she-wolf mother, pale and drenched in sweat. Her belly was large, and the monitor beside her showed unstable vital signs.

“This is rare. She’s carrying three wolf pups, all in full wolf form. Normally, we’re born as human infants first, only later able to shift. This is beyond the norm.”

“Will they survive?” I asked quietly.

“There’s no certainty. That’s why you must pay close attention today,” he said briefly, his eyes never leaving the patient.

I stepped closer, watching the

The ballroom was still alive with laughter and the clinking of glasses, yet the sound of approaching footsteps from the bar made me instinctively turn my head. A familiar scent—masculine, laced with cedar and bourbon hit me before I even saw the face emerging through the crowd.Gregor.He walked with his usual steady gait, posture straight and confident. His black suit was immaculate, his sharp eyes cutting through the noise and light. A faint smile tugged at his lips, though his gaze remained cold, deliberate, and calculating. In his hand was a glass of amber liquid.“Luna Sienna, you’re alone tonight?”“Yes. Liam’s busy. There’s an internal pack meeting he couldn’t leave.”Gregor raised an eyebrow. He lifted his glass slowly, studying the drink before taking a small sip. “Busy, hm? That’s odd. As far as I remember, Liam never misses Ronny’s birthday parties. He’s usually seated right in front, in the place of honor. Strange, isn’t it? That he’s not here this year.”His tone carried

The evening sky was painted in shades of orange when I arrived at the apartment door. My neck still felt stiff after a long, tense day at the hospital. As soon as I opened the door, the aroma of home-cooked food greeted me. In the dining room, Liam was setting two plates of rice and warm chicken soup. He turned when he heard my footsteps, a small smile curving his lips.“You’re home later than usual. I almost thought you got pulled into an extra shift.”I set my bag on the chair and exhaled deeply. “Honestly, I almost didn’t make it home early either.”He raised an eyebrow. “What happened?”I gave a faint smile and sat down at the table. “I ran into someone today.”Liam took the seat across from me, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Who?”“Kayla.”“Kayla?”I nodded slowly. “Yes. I met her by chance. She’s heavily pregnant now.”Liam leaned back, eyes fixed on me not angry, but wary. “And then?”I told him everything how I saw Kayla in front of a flower shop, how pale she looked before

It had been several days since Ronny handed me that birthday invitation. At first, I was certain I wouldn’t go. I thought there was no reason to attend a party thrown by someone who had left behind so many wounds. But gossip spreads fast in a hospital.Every time I passed the nurse station or sat in the cafeteria, I’d hear the same murmurs.“They say everyone in the hospital’s invited.”“Rumor has it Dr. Jonathan’s going too.”“Wow, Ronny’s really pulling out all the stops. The party’s at the city center hotel ballroom.”I could only pretend not to care, but deep down, a small unease began to grow.In the medical world, good relationships are sometimes more valuable than grades. If I didn’t go, it might stir new rumors and even if I did go, I had no intention of having fun. I just wanted to show up briefly, offer a polite greeting, then leave. But one thing I knew for sure, Liam would never approve. The image of his serious face every time Ronny’s name came up was warning enough. If I

Now we’re on the hotel balcony, and I’m on a video call with my mother. Her life is already well taken care of by Liam, so I don’t have to worry about her anymore. That video call left a warm smile on my face, but the mood quickly shifted when a somber aura suddenly came from Liam. He fell silent, staring blankly at the shimmering city lights stretching as far as the eye could see.“I miss my mom. It’s been a long time, but sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday.”I know his mother passed away from a chronic illness that still has no cure to this day. Without saying a word, I rose from my chair and approached him from the side. His body felt tense. Gently, I lifted my hand and brushed his cold cheek.“Baby, I’m here. Now and always, you have me.”I leaned closer, softly pressing my lips against his. At first, he stayed still, simply receiving the comfort I offered. But slowly, his body began to respond. His once-limp arms moved, wrapping around my waist and pulling me closer.H

That afternoon, I had just finished at the hospital, my body weary after a full day of clerkship. I thought Liam would take us straight back to the apartment as usual. But instead, his car stopped in front of a five-star hotel.I stared at him with a furrowed brow. "Liam, why are we stopping here?"He just gave a faint smile, got out of the car, and opened the door for me. "Just come along. You ask too many questions."I obeyed. As we entered, the magnificent hotel lobby with its crystal chandeliers welcomed us. Piano music flowed through the air, and I felt as if I had stepped into another world, far from the exhaustion of the hospital wards and the scent of antiseptic. In the spacious room with large windows overlooking the city at night, Liam took off his white coat, then unbuttoned his shirt, one button at a time. I stared wide-eyed."Liam! It's freezing outside. And you're—""I just feel hot."I fell silent. Deep down, I knew what he meant. Lately, I had been too busy with clerks
