Juliette's Point of View

Three days passed quickly.

On the morning of the deadline, a carriage arrived at Silvercrest bearing the Ashvale crest. My father's Beta, Jonathan stepped out, looking uncomfortable and sweaty despite the cool weather.

Behind him, servants unloaded ten large wooden boxes.

I met them in the main hall, Rosie at my side with her notebook ready.

"Luna Juliette." The Beta bowed stiffly. "Alpha Marlowe sends his regards and presents these items as fulfillment of his obligatio

Juliette’s point of view.“Why is she screaming?” Whispers started echoing through the crowd, everyone turning to look at her and exchanging weird glances with each other. “Did she just say she pushed someone and didn’t expect them to die?” a man asked loudly. That’s when the realization of her words finally sank in on them and more whispering started echoing.“Oh my goodness, did she kill someone?” another voice joined in.“But why is she screaming because of her stepdaughter?” a woman nearby said, her tone full of shock.Everyone started exchanging glances with each other, their voices growing louder as more people leaned in to hear. The entire hall buzzed with questions. “This can’t be real,” someone muttered. “Not at the grandmother’s birthday banquet.”This is just the beginning Cordelia, even if I can’t kill you by myself. I will make sure you wish for death. You will beg for mercy but find none. For every pain and humiliation you have caused my family and I, I will pay back a

Juliette’s point of view.My heart felt lighter than it had in a long time. “Currently, our plan is 90% successful,” Rosie said. I let out a satisfied smile while applying my eyeliner in the mirror. My stepmother is now seeing ghosts in the daylight. She can’t even leave her room now. The satisfaction that gave me was more than anything. Hold on, not exactly more than the one Lucian gives me but close.Today was my grandmother’s birthday banquet and I have just the right gift for her. I stared at my makeup, satisfied, and turned to Rosie. “Dress me up.”By the time I was done, I could hardly differentiate between my mother’s picture I was staring at and me. I had gone to that woman I met on her grave again, to ask about all her favorite things and how she dressed. Blue. I knew there was a reason I liked that color and turns out it was my mother’s favorite color as well. I also made sure my hair perfectly matched her. I stared at her picture and caressed it. “It saddens me you’re no

Natalie’s point of view.My heart raced with millions of thoughts. My hands were trembling slightly as I chewed my nails, barely paying any attention to how bitter it tasted. This is bad. Really bad. Now that Caleb has failed his exam, everything feels like it is slipping away. All the thoughts of him being an alpha are gone. Do I still want to be with him? I had thought being with him would guarantee my good life, but now? I am not so sure anymore.I was nothing more than a mistress. Not only that, Caleb has also lost the favor he gets from the important people around him. Now we were almost the same in status. But unlike me, he still gets to live as the alpha’s failed son. He can still dine in the finest wine and sleep in comfort. While I have to return to my maid’s quarters every night. Every effort I put into being with him was now meaningless. All the nights I stayed up, all the ways I tried to please him, the risks I took. It feels like it was all for nothing.“Don’t worry…”

Caleb’s point of view.I gripped my fork tightly as I tried to keep my expression and rage under control. Sitting across the table as everyone was busy celebrating Charles’s result. Piling food all over his plate. My father’s entire focus was on Juliette, completely forgetting about me or how I felt about all of these. I know they were rubbing it on my face, that I failed and he passed. The laughter and cheers kept coming, and each one hit me harder. I sat there watching it all, my hand shaking a bit on the fork. How could things turn like this? I had worked for this. I had pushed myself, and now it felt like the whole room was against me. They kept talking about Charles like he was the big success, the one who mattered. I kept my mouth shut, but inside it was building up. This wasn’t just a bad day. This was everything falling apart right in front of me. I thought about all the times I had been the center, the one they looked up to. Now it was Charles getting the attention, and I

Juliette’s point of view.“What?” I asked. I mean I wasn’t surprised he wouldn't do well but I didn’t expect he would be that bad. I had thought he would rank like ninety or ninety something. Because ranking any higher would be a threat to the entire pack. The power would get into his head so much he would start misusing it. I mean what if he abandoned the pack like he did to me on the altar?I stood there thinking about how everything had led to this moment. The exam results were supposed to change things for the pack, and for Caleb especially. But now it felt like a weight had been lifted in a way I hadn’t planned for. He had always carried himself with that kind of confidence that made people around him uneasy. I remembered all the times he talked about his future and how he would lead. Those words echoed in my mind as I processed the news. He wasn’t even close to making the list. It wasn’t just a small miss. It was a complete failure in every sense. I kept my face steady whil

Juliette’s point of view.Later in the evening, Lucian and I made our way to Mother Vivienne’s manor for some discussion. I still hadn’t asked what Caleb scored, but from the tight look on Lucian’s face, he didn’t seem happy at all. I didn’t know if he already knew the results, but I stayed quiet. No point stirring things up before we got there. Even if I don’t ask now, we are still gonna hear about this result when we are done here. I feel mother vivienne knows something because I don’t understand why she would want to speak to Lucian few minutes before Caleb’s result would be announced. Still, we made our way into her manor. She was already dressed and waiting for us. We greeted and Lucian didn’t even bother much with the formalities before saying. “If he doesn’t do well, Mother, I have no intention of giving him my title,” Lucian said firmly as we settled into the sitting room.“No matter how he does, as his father and me as his grandmother, I will plead with you to give him on

Lucian's Point of ViewI watched them from the end of the corridor.Juliette and Caleb, facing off like two wolves circling each other. Their voices carried clearly in the empty hallway, sharp and heated.George stood beside me, shifting uncomfortably."Alpha, should we intervene?" he asked quietly

Juliette's Point of ViewI accepted the book from Charles with genuine delight."The History of the Northern Territories," I read aloud, running my fingers over the worn leather cover. The binding was old but well-preserved, the pages yellowed with age. "Charles, this is wonderful. I've been lookin

Caleb's Point of ViewI couldn't get to Natasha fast enough. My legs carried me through the corridors, past startled servants, down the stairs to the modest quarters where she had been staying during my confinement. My heart pounded with excitement. With relief. With desperate need to see her face.

Juliette's Point of ViewI watched Caleb's retreating figure disappear through the doors.Something nagged at the back of my mind. These past few days, Diana had been unusually kind to me. Suspiciously kind. The woman who had barely concealed her contempt for me since my arrival was suddenly offeri
