I looked at him one last time before heading out and I heard him saying to stop. My heart completely sink in my stomach but I didn't dare to look back at him or stop.
I fasten up my pace and saw a beautiful sign, and the names of bride groom written in to beautiful lettering outside of the venue. As I step out onto the rooftop, I am immediately struck by the breathtaking view. The city skyline stretches out before me, with skyscrapers and buildings of all shapes and sizes. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow over everything and making the sky a beautiful shade of pink and orange. The rooftop itself is beautifully decorated for the wedding. White chairs are arranged in neat rows, facing a small stage where the ceremony will take place. Flowers and greenery are everywhere, adding to the natural beauty of the space. To one side, there is a bar set up, with bartenders mixing drinks and serving guests. On the other side, there is a buffet table laden with delicious food. The smell of the food wafts over to me, making my mouth water. As I walk around, I can hear the sound of laughter and chatter as guests mingle and enjoy themselves. Everyone is dressed in their finest clothes, looking elegant and happy." Oh, I need to call Robin before Ed recognized me and what he is doing here in the first place? And why good always make me suffer.I think, problems interest in me." I thought. And I pulled my phone out to call Robin but my phone begin blarring when I took out, glancing at the screen I find Robin was calling me. I picked up the call and we spoke both at the same time." I've got into a problem and I need your help." we both said the same thing to each other." What happened to you? Stassie don't tell me you did something crazy again."" NO! I didn't do anything and what happened to you? Why you need my help? Did something happen to the cake?"" I can't tell you on the phone and will you come here in the lobby and where you just disappear leaving me alone?"" Okay, be right there. I am coming down." I said and hung up the call, in worrying.I turned around and headed back towards the elevator, but quickly changed my mind. I was afraid of running into Ed again, which was the last thing I wanted. Instead, I decided to take the stairs, even though it was a long and tiring route for me. After taking a deep breath, I started descending. Finally, I reached the ground floor, sweating profusely. I made my way to the lobby where I saw Robin surrounded by a group of men in suits and the receiptionest I met earlier. I approached her and asked, “What’s going on here?”“Thank goodness you’re here,” she replied. “Can you please tell these fools that we’re here to deliver the wedding cake? They’re claiming that it’s already been delivered.”“What? How is that possible? We have the cake in the van,” I said, confused.Just then, the manager of the venue approached us, looking angry. “What’s going on here?” he demanded. “I told you, the cake has already been delivered. You need to leave now or I’ll call the police.”Robin and I exchanged a worried look. We had no idea how this could have happened. We tried to explain to the manager that there must have been some mistake, but he wouldn’t listen. He continued to threaten us, telling us to leave the premises immediately. We were at a loss for what to do. We knew we had the cake in the van, but the manager was adamant that it had already been delivered. And if I don't deliver this cake I would be homeless and probably lost my job and hope.Robin and I tried to argue with the manager, but he wouldn’t listen to reason.“Please, sir, there must be some mistake,” Robin pleaded. “We have the cake in the van. Can’t you just check?”The manager expressed his frustration. “I can’t deal with this right now. The cake has already arrived. You must leave immediately or I will contact the authorities.”He summoned security to escort us out of the building, and one of the guards approached me.“I won’t tolerate any physical contact! I won’t leave until I’ve delivered this cake and received my payment!” I declared.“Ma’am, please don’t make this difficult for yourself. Just cooperate with us.”The guard advanced towards me, and I stopped him by saying, " Don't come closer to me. I'll kill you if you took another step closer"" You’ll have to come with me,” he said, tightening his grip.Panic set in as I realized the danger of the situation. I knew I had to act fast. Summoning all my strength, I twisted my arm out of his grasp and delivered a swift kick to his shin. He stumbled back, momentarily stunned by the sudden attack. But the second Guard seized my forearm. He disregarded my warning and began to drag me out of the lobby. I screamed at the top of my lungs.“SOMEONE HELP ME! PLEASE, HELP ME!”My cries caught the attention of everyone in the lobby, but none of them had the courage to intervene. Robin was also tackled, and I struggled to break free from the guard’s grasp, because he was too strong.Suddenly, a deep, gravelly voice spoke up.“What is happening here?”The guard halted and the manager turned to see who had spoken. My eyes darted towards my rescuer, and when our gazes met, it felt like my soul left my body.I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My mind went blank and my body felt numb. I tried to speak, but no words came out. My thoughts were jumbled and I couldn’t make sense of anything. It was like I was in a fog, unable to process the information that was being presented to me. My heart was racing and my hands were shaking. I felt like the ground had been pulled out from under me. I was in shock, struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation.I can't believe this is happening to me. Why does everything always go wrong? I thought I had it all figured out, but no, the universe just had to throw me another curve ball. I'm so sick of this. Why can't I catch a break? Just once, I want things to go my way. Is that too much to ask? Ugh, I hate my luck. It's like I'm cursed or something." I am asking you what is happening in here?" He asked the manager and Robin looked at me in disbelief. Like, I've intentionally brought Ed here. I don't know what he is doing here in the first place. She shoot a glare into my direction and I shrugged off and returned my eyes back on Ed who was looking me. The manager step forward to answer him." These two girls are causing trouble. They want to enter into Miss Rebecca w party and when I refused to let them enter and call the security. They begin screaming and this one attack the security guard."The manager point the finger at me and I squeeze my eyes shut o
I cussed Robin for leaving me alone. I thought, She is going to help me but nah why would she do that? Because I have created this mess and now, I have to clean it. I heard Ed cleared his throat to caught my attention.I turned around hesitantly to face him, finding it impossible to meet his gaze. Guilt washed over me as I thought about how much I had lied to him. I felt like a terrible person.“Hey… again,” I said, waving my hand awkwardly and forcing a smile. I cringed at my own behavior, feeling ridiculous as I stood there waving my hand in front of him. I quickly grabbed my own hand to stop the waving.“So, I haven’t heard a thank you from you… Oh, wait, I forgot. I’m that kind of man who doesn’t treat women properly! Right?” he taunted, referring to our unexpected encounter in the elevator. My face flushed with embarrassment as I stood there, wishing I could disappear. But all I could do was take a deep breath and try to mainta
I call for a cab and get in the car before Ed comes back and try to stop me.I sat in the back of the taxi, tears streaming down my face. The cab driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror, concern etched on his face."What's wrong?" he asked gently.I sniffled and wiped my eyes. "Everything," I said, my voice choked with emotion. "I'm just a horrible person."The cab driver shook his head. "No one is a horrible person," he said. "We all make mistakes. It's how we learn and grow."I shook my head, not believing him. "You don't understand," I said. "I've hurt so many people. I don't know how to make it right."The cab driver was silent for a moment, then he spoke again. "It's never too late to make amends," he said. "It takes courage to admit your mistakes and try to fix them. But it's worth it in the end."I looked at him, considering his words. Maybe he was right. Maybe there was still hope for me.The cab driver nodded and started the car, pulling away from the curb. "Where to?" he
I walked into the bakery where I work, the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries filling my nose. As I made my way to the back, I saw Jared, my coworker, working at the cash register. He looked up and our eyes met, but he didn’t seem excited to see me.“Hey, Jared!” I greeted him with a smile.“Hey,” he replied, his tone flat. “Wait, you can’t go in there yet.”I stopped in my tracks, confused. “What do you mean? Why not?”Jared sighed. “The boss wants to talk to you first”" For, What?"" I don't know. He told me when you come to the bakery send you to his office. He wants to talk to you." He replied.“Oh,” I said, feeling a little deflated. I had been looking forward to starting my shift and getting to work in the kitchen. “Okay, thanks for letting me know."I turned around and headed back to the front of the bakery to find the paul and see what was going on. As the guards entered Paul’s office, I could hear their muffled voices through the door. “Sir, there’s been some damage to your property,” one of them said. Paul’s voice was angry as he replied, “What? Who did it?”I knew I had to get out of there fast. My heart was pounding as I made a run for my car, which was parked near the bakery. I fumbled with my keys, trying to unlock the door.Once I was inside, I let out a sigh of relief and started the engine. But just as I was about to pull out, Paul appeared in front of my car, his face red with anger.“Stop!” he shouted, banging on the hood of my car. “You can’t just leave like this!”But I was determined to get away. With a surge of adrenaline, I managed to maneuver my car around him and pull out onto the street. As I drove away, I could see Paul in my rearview mirror, shaking his fist at me.I was shaking as I drove, my emotions all over the place. Part of me felt guilty for what I had done, but another part of me felt exhilarated by t
I turned around to go to the elevator and everyone was still looking me like I am a alien or something. And seriously, this making me thinking that I shouldn't have got into a fight with Paul. I am regretting a little bit but he deserves it. He is a dickhead. I couldn’t believe how shitty he had been to me. I had worked for him for five years at the bakery, pouring my heart and soul into my job. And what had he done at the end? Fired me.I clenched my fists, feeling a surge of anger and frustration. All those early mornings, all those long hours, all those burnt cakes and ruined pastries. It had all been for nothing. I will never go back to him and beg him to give me my job. Never, after what he had done and insulted me.I hurried towards the elevator, my heart pounding with anticipation. I had to get to the 10th floor and I couldn’t afford to be late. As I reached the elevator, my eyes fell on the sign that read “Out of Order”. My heart sank. I am chubby girl and the thought of climb
As I finish hanging the dresses in the dressing room and returned back on the set before I could tell the stylist that I finished my job.I heard a model saying, " Oh no, I ripped the dress."I quickly went to see what had happened and found the stylist, photographer, and director gathered around the model. She was crying uncontrollably, and everyone was trying to calm her down, but she couldn’t stop. I saw that her dress was completely ripped from the side and it didn’t look salvageable. It was a terrible situation. The stylist said, “Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out.” The photographer added, “We can try to fix it or find a replacement dress.” The director tried to reassure her, “It’s not your fault, these things happen.”But the model just kept crying, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to ruin everything. It’s my first photoshoot and I wanted everything to be perfect.” I could feel her despair and embarrassment. It was heartbreaking to see her so upset. The stylist asked her gentl
