Chapter 4

“What if in the end, I don’t want to divorce you!”

Felicia shook her head, then rubbed her forehead slowly. This was not right. Edward’s words yesterday were ringing in Felicia’s head right now.

All this time the girl knew where she stood. She knew what to do and what not to do while being Edward’s wife, and Felicia had never expected more.

“Instead of daydreaming, you’d better help me with this project,” Diana said, carrying a stack of papers. Felicia was astonished.

“I’m already busy enough with my own work. How can you add to my life with this annoying pile of papers!” she protested.

“If you’re busy, you won’t have time to smile to yourself,” Diana said.

Smile to yourself. Really? Felicia didn’t realize that at all. Was it because she was thinking about Edward. In the three years of their secret marriage, it seemed that Felicia had never behaved like this.

“Oh no, I seem to have forgotten something. Don’t tell me you’re in love. Oh my God, this is great. Come on, tell me who it is!” Diana asked half-insistently.

“I can’t fall in love with anyone, Diana. I’m married,” Felicia said casually.

“Oyah, you’re good at bragging. Who is your husband?”

“Mr. Edward Collin,” Felicia replied casually.

Diana pouted, and pointed a middle finger at Felicia.

“If you’re Mr. Edward’s wife, then I’m his lover,” Diana said.

Felicia shrugged and said, “Whatever if you don’t believe me.”

Even the whole world might not have believed that Felicia was Edward’s wife if Edward himself had not admitted it. But certainly, if that had happened then Felicia would have been the center of attention in the news media.

But suddenly, something strange happened. Felicia, who initially felt fine, suddenly felt dizzy in her head. She held her head in pain as her vision began to blur.

“Why is my head so dizzy,” Felicia said quietly.

Diana realized something strange was happening to Felicia. She quickly tapped Felicia on the shoulder and asked, “Fel, are you okay? You look terrible.”

“I’m fine, Diana. Really,” Felicia replied. That was Felicia’s attitude, she always didn’t want to make the people around her worry. But this time, Felicia couldn’t lie anymore.

Because after Felicia said she was fine. Her vision became even more blurry. Her vision turned dark, until she finally fell down, accompanied by the sound of Diana screaming in panic because of her situation.

“Are you awake?” The question came from the male doctor beside Felicia.

Felicia had just opened her eyes after fainting in her office a few moments ago.

“Who brought me here, Doctor?” Felicia asked.

“Your friend Diana. She brought you here, but left in a hurry because she had some business to attend to. But... she asked me to call her when you regained consciousness,” the doctor explained.

Felicia understood that Diana had a lot of work to do. That’s why she had to leave in a hurry. But really, Diana didn’t mean to intentionally leave Felicia behind.

“You should rest more, and take care of your current condition. A young pregnant woman’s health is very sensitive,” the doctor said again.

Felicia opened her eyes wide with her mouth agape after hearing the doctor’s explanation. A young pregnant woman? Who is a young pregnant woman anyway.

“What did you say, doctor? Young pregnant? But... who?” Felicia didn’t understand, or was just trying to escape reality.

“Of course you are. You’re about 7 or 8 weeks pregnant right now,” the doctor said.

By God, Felicia could face all the cruelties of the world on her own. But for now, getting pregnant was not a wise choice.

“You don’t have a good look on your face. Is there a problem? You have a husband, don’t you?” the doctor asked.

Felicia took a moment to compose herself. For her, this was a surprise. One of the things she had to avoid in this marriage was not to have feelings, and not to get pregnant. But it seemed that Felicia had violated both. She was now pregnant and... probably also had feelings for Edward.

“Yes... I have a husband,” Felicia replied then.

“Ohh, that’s good. A child should grow up in a good environment. Tell your husband to pay extra attention,” the Doctor ordered.

This was probably the first time Felicia had actually admitted that she had a husband. Usually, she would just joke about it with her friends.

“But what would Edward do if he knew about this pregnancy. Would he accept it, or would he... kill her,” Felicia thought.

For some reason, Felicia wasn’t sure. Even though Edward had said that he might not want a divorce from Felicia. It didn’t feel like love. Edward probably just thought that he still needed Felicia for now. But what would happen afterward?

“No... I won’t let the child in my womb die. I will tell Edward about this pregnancy once I am sure enough. If he doesn’t want this child, then I will raise it by myself.

Just when her mind was in turmoil, Felicia received a phone call from her husband. It was a pretty good chemistry. It seemed that whenever Felicia thought about Edward, he would immediately call her.

“Are you busy?” asked Edwrard as Felicia picked up the phone.

“Yes... quite. Mr. Steve gave me a lot of assignments after I managed to impress you during the presentation yesterday,” Felicia replied confidently. She even lied and didn’t mention the hospital at all.

“Really?” replied Edward.

“Of course. That’s why, as a good husband, you should make it easier for me to get a promotion in the office,” Felicia said again.

“You know yourself, I don’t like nepotism, dear.”

“Can you make an exception?”

“Uhmm... well, that depends on how good you are at teasing me. But...forget about that for now. Tonight, I want to take you out.”

Felicia frowned,

“Go?”

“Yes... go to the Blue Moon Hotel tonight,” Edward ordered.

“Wow, finally, you have the courage to expose the existence of your secret wife,”

“Remember one thing, Felicia. I have never wanted our relationship to be exposed by the media.”

Felicia had almost forgotten one thing. In reality it was true, she was the one who gave Edward the condition that his name not be exposed by the media. Because for Felicia, the less people knew, the better.
