LOGINFor six years, Bradly had believed his wife was gone. Now he knew his daughter was somewhere inside Nihan's Dream Place Café in Antipolo, and one wrong move could make him lose them both again.
Ashley had told him Varany owned the café. The moment Bradly stepped inside, he felt her presence in the warm colors, handwritten signs, and small details that made the place feel welcoming. It was the kind of place Varany might have built after everything she had been through.
Bradly wanted to find her immediately, but Ashley had warned him not to rush. If he handled this badly, Varany might disappear again.
His wife. His daughter.
Even now, those words barely felt real.
Learning that Varany was alive and that they had a daughter had filled him with shock, joy, and regret. He had missed Nihan's birth, her first steps and words, her birthdays, and every other moment he should have shared with her. Varany had raised their daughter alone while building a new life without him.
Bradly lowered his eyes. For six years, he had carried one memory he could never escape: the night Varany disappeared.
He remembered every detail.
Bradly had come home late that night.
Bradly had come home determined to finally talk to Varany, put aside his pride, and try to fix their marriage.
But when he entered their bedroom, something felt wrong.
The closet was open, and most of Varany's clothes were gone. The drawers were empty too.
She had not left in anger. She had planned this.
Bradly grabbed his phone and called her, but she did not answer. After several attempts, he noticed a folded piece of paper behind their wedding picture.
His hands went numb as he opened it.
Bradly, I am tired. Let us end this. I am setting you free.
He read it again, hoping he had misunderstood.
He hadn't.
Then he saw her wedding ring on the table.
Beside it was the jewelry box he had given her years ago. Inside were all the gifts and letters he had given her over the years, including the little things he had left behind whenever he could not find the words to express himself.
She had left everything.
Bradly sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her ring.
This was what he had always feared.
Not her anger or even her leaving.
He had feared the day Varany would stop waiting for him, and that was exactly what she had done.
Back inside the café, Bradly closed his eyes. Even after six years, the memory still hurt because he had seen Varany slipping away and kept telling himself there would be time to apologize and fix things.
If he had spoken to her that night and put his pride aside, perhaps she would still be beside him. Perhaps Nihan would have grown up with both parents.
But six years later, all he had were maybes.
Bradly knew he was responsible. He had hurt Varany, pushed her away, and given her every reason to leave. There had never been anyone else to blame.
That night, he had thought about Ashley. If anyone knew where Varany had gone, it would have been her. Ashley and Varany had always been close, but Bradly doubted she would have trusted him with another chance.
He wouldn't have trusted himself either.
Bradly remembered turning off his phone and sitting alone in their bedroom. For the first time, he had no excuses or pride left to hide behind.
He had failed his wife.
The memory faded, and Bradly found himself back inside Nihan's Dream Place Café.
Then he heard a child's laughter.
He lowered the newspaper and looked up.
Varany was standing only a few steps away.
“Varany…” Her name escaped him before he could stop it.
Six years of regret and searching disappeared in an instant. She was still Varany, but motherhood and the life she had built had changed her. She carried herself with a quiet confidence that made Bradly admire her even more.
Then he saw the little girl beside her.
His daughter.
Nihan.
Ashley lifted Nihan onto her lap and tickled her until she laughed. Bradly stared at the child, recognizing pieces of himself in her smile and eyes, while so much of Varany was there too.
He gripped the edge of the table and stayed where he was. He had no right to interrupt them yet. For now, he could only watch the family he had missed for six years.
Varany, Ashley, and Nihan sat together, talking and laughing as if they had always belonged together.
“So, how was Italy?” Varany asked. “Did you bring me anything?”
Hearing her voice again after six years left Bradly struggling to stay still.
Ashley glanced toward him for a moment before quickly looking away.
“Sorry, Sis. No souvenirs,” Ashley said. “My brother would have killed me if I brought too much.”
Bradly almost laughed, but the thought quickly disappeared. He had spent six years afraid of losing Varany again, yet he knew he could not simply hold on to her. He had already learned what happened when love became something he tried to control.
Then Nihan spoke.
“Um… Auntie?”
Bradly went still.
“What is it, sweetheart?” Ashley asked.
Nihan looked at her. “Why didn't Daddy bring me a gift?”
Ashley froze, and Varany quickly tried to change the subject.
“Sweetheart, why don't we get some cake? Or ice cream?”
“No.” Nihan shook her head. “I want my Daddy.”
Bradly stared at her from his hiding place.
“Does he not love me?” Nihan asked, tears filling her eyes. “I am a good girl, right?”
Bradly's hands tightened around the edge of the table.
His daughter was crying for him without knowing he was only a few feet away.
He wanted to go to her, hold her, and tell her that none of this was her fault. If he had known about Nihan, he would have searched for her years ago.
But Bradly stayed where he was.
He could stop her tears.
He could walk over to her.
Bradly wanted to pull Nihan into his arms and tell her everything, but he knew one wrong move could make Varany disappear again. He had already lost six years with them and could not risk losing them twice.
Ashley pulled Nihan onto her lap. “No, baby. Daddy loves you. He's just busy. One day, he'll come and see you.”
Bradly knew it was a lie meant to protect Nihan, but hearing it still hurt. His daughter had grown up believing her father was somewhere out there, simply too busy to come home.
Then Nihan went to Varany.
“Mommy, are you mad at me?” she asked through her tears. “Why are you crying?”
Varany struggled to answer.
“I promise I won't look for Dad anymore,” Nihan said. “I'm sorry.”
Bradly lowered his head. His daughter had decided to stop looking for him while he sat only a few steps away.
He wanted to go to them, but Ashley glanced over her shoulder and gave him a clear warning.
Not yet.
Bradly closed his eyes and stayed where he was. Following his emotions without Bradly stayed where he was. If he rushed things or frightened Varany, he could lose them again.
After a few minutes, Varany wiped her tears and composed herself. “I have to go. Can you watch her for a while?”
“Of course,” Ashley replied.
Varany kissed Nihan's forehead and walked away. Bradly watched her leave, just as he had six years ago, but this time he stayed hidden.
Then the café door opened.
A man walked in, and Nihan immediately ran toward him.
“Uncle Mike!”
Bradly frowned. Who was he, and how close was he to Varany and Nihan?
Before he could think much about it, his phone vibrated. It was Ashley.
We are at Dairy Queen.
Bradly was already on his feet.
I'll be there in a minute.
He hurried through the mall, focused on one thing: seeing his daughter.
Then he heard it.
“Daddy!”
Bradly looked up.
Nihan was running toward him with a bright smile. For a moment, he could only stare before dropping to his knees and opening his arms.
Nihan rushed into them.
Bradly held her tightly, barely believing that the little girl he had spent six years not knowing was finally in his arms.
His daughter was real.
And she was calling him Daddy.
Nihan stayed in his arms, warm and real, and for the first time in six years, Bradly felt something inside him settle. She kissed his cheek several times, making him laugh in a way he had not in years. His eyes filled with tears, but this time they came from happiness.
Across the table, Ashley watched them with tears in her eyes. Bradly mouthed, “Thank you,” and she simply nodded.
Nihan refused to let go of his hand as they walked around the mall and stopped for ice cream. Bradly wanted to make up for every birthday, school event, and childhood memory he had missed, but he knew he had to take things slowly.
“Another day, Princess,” he promised. “We'll do more another day.”
Nihan smiled and kissed his cheek again.
By lunchtime, she was telling him everything about her cartoons, toys, favorite snacks, friends, and life at the café. Bradly listened to every word because, after six years, he finally had the chance to know his daughter.
When Ashley gave them some time alone, Bradly leaned closer.
“Princess, who's Uncle Mike?”
Nihan's face lit up. “He's Mommy's friend. He's nice. I like him.”
Bradly kept his expression calm, but jealousy stirred immediately.
He had no right to feel that way after six years and everything he had done.
“Who do you like more, Uncle Mike or Daddy?”
Nihan tilted her head, then giggled. “I like Uncle Mike because he's nice, and we play together.”
Bradly tried to hide his disappointment.
Then Nihan wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, “But I love you, Daddy.”
The jealousy disappeared instantly. Bradly hugged her, wanting to remember every second of their first day together.
“Do you really love Daddy?” he asked.
“Yes. I love you, Daddy.”
“I'm happy you're back,” Nihan added. “Mommy said you're busy, so that's why we can't visit. She said you're working hard so I can go to a good school and we can buy toys and dresses.”
Bradly closed his eyes.
Even after everything, Varany had never taught Nihan to hate him. She had protected his image instead of making him the villain.
“Daddy…”
Bradly looked at her.
“Don't leave, okay? I have two piggy banks. We have money.” Nihan squeezed his hand. “You don't have to go away anymore. Mommy said when we have enough money, you'll come home.”
Bradly pulled her into his arms.
“Daddy isn't going anywhere,” he said. “I promise.”
Nihan smiled and hugged him again.
For the first time, Bradly made a decision instead of another promise.
He would not leave his daughter again.
Bradly knew he could not fix everything by demanding a place in Varany's life. He would have to earn their trust, no matter how long it took.
He looked down at Nihan and held her close.
This time, I will not fail the people I love.
Then a shaken voice came from behind him.
“Bradly?”
His entire body went still.
Nihan tightened her arms around his neck. “Daddy?”
Bradly slowly turned.
Varany stood only a few steps away, pale and frozen as she stared at him. Then her eyes dropped to Nihan, who was holding Bradly as if she had known him all her life.
“Daddy?” Nihan repeated.
Varany's lips parted in shock.
Six years of secrets had led to this moment. Bradly was finally standing face-to-face with the woman he had spent years searching for, with the daughter she had kept hidden from him in his arms.
There was nowhere left to hide.
Now Bradly had only one question:
Would Varany let him stay, or would she take Nihan and disappear again?
“Calix, I don’t think this position is right,” Nihan whispered between unsteady breaths.“What’s wrong with it?”His lips moved across the sensitive skin of her neck.Nihan sat across his lap with her back pressed against his chest. The mirror above the bed reflected everything, from her flushed face to the way Calix held her close.“This is too much,” she admitted. “I can see everything.”“Then look at yourself.”“No.”But her eyes moved toward the mirror anyway. For a moment, Nihan barely recognized the woman staring back at her.Her cheeks were flushed. Her lips were parted, and several strands of hair had fallen across her forehead. She looked nervous and overwhelmed. But she also looked happy. When her eyes moved toward Calix’s reflection, her breath caught. He was watching her.His dark gaze
Calix tapped a card against the elevator sensor and pressed the button for the highest floor. The moment the doors closed, he pulled Nihan into his arms and kissed her.Her eyes widened as her back gently touched the wall. Calix kissed her as if he had been waiting far too long to taste her again.“Calix,” she whispered when their lips finally parted. “We’re still inside the elevator.”“This elevator goes directly to the penthouse,” he murmured before kissing her again. His kiss deepened, drawing a soft sound from Nihan before she could stop it.She quickly placed one hand against his chest.“If someone sees us, I’ll never recover.”Calix did not seem concerned. He kissed her again as though they were the only two people in the world. Then Nihan suddenly remembered something.“Have you even eaten?”“No.”She pulled ba
The uncomfortable silence that had filled the hall while Carmen insulted Nihan changed into complete shock.Even Nihan could not believe Calix had arrived at that exact moment. His hand slipped into hers, pulling her back to reality.“You’re here?” she managed to ask.Calix nodded.“I’m sorry I’m late.”“You shouldn’t have rushed.”Nihan instinctively patted his shoulder. The moment her hand touched him, Calix flinched. It was a small reaction, but she noticed it.Her eyes narrowed.“I became stiff from driving for so long,” he quickly explained.“Calix,” Nihan warned softly. She did not believe him. Before she could question him further, Carmen hurried toward them.“Calix Godwin, hello!” she greeted with a bright smile. “I’m Carmen Madden. I’m the woman who sent you
Nihan had not expected to be called to work on the morning of the reunion.Of all days, why did it have to be today? She had slept peacefully the night before. Jerome asked if Nihan could cover the shift.Since she had nothing planned for the morning, she agreed.Unfortunately, Jerome had not been exaggerating when he warned her that the center would be busy.Nihan barely had time to breathe. The moment she arrived home, she dropped onto the couch and released a long, tired breath. Then she looked at the clock. It was already four in the afternoon. Her shift had ended an hour late. The reunion would begin in three hours, so she still had time to rest

The man of the entire season!” Scott shouted the moment he saw Calix.Vhong made loud cheering sounds behind him.Calix sighed and shook his head.“Are you already drunk?”“Who’s drunk?” Scott asked, looking around in confusion. “I don’t see anyone drunk.”The team was celebrating at a private bar Ruztom had rented for the night.Calix had not planned to attend. He needed to leave early in the morning if he wanted to reach Nihan’s reunion on time. But Ruztom had called him and talked endlessly about team spirit. He had even threatened to pick Calix up himself and bother him all night if he refused.Spending one hour at the party seemed easier than dealing with that.Calix had called Nihan before leaving. The bowl of popcorn nearly fell as Nihan jumped from the couch.Everything around her blurred. Her hands trembled as the final ten seconds appeared on the television. One goal would decide everything. The game would either go into overtime or end with a victory.Hannah stood beside her, her eyes fixed on the screen.
