The elders meeting

last update Last Updated: 2025-12-07 23:53:27

Aria stood by the window sorting through a wooden box filled with jewelry. My jewelry, apparently. Silver bracelets, soft leather bands, delicate chains with small stones… all laid out neatly on the bed beside a row of dresses I had never seen before. Simple but beautiful gowns, far different from the oversized clothes my aunt used to force on me.

I blinked, confused, watching her move with quick but careful hands. She hummed softly under her breath as she worked, lifting each necklace toward the light to see how it shone.

“What… exactly are you doing?” I asked, pulling myself up on the bed.

Aria didn’t look up. “Preparing your outfits, my lady.”

I frowned. “Outfits for what?”

She paused, the necklace in her hand dropping a little. Then she turned to me with a small, careful smile.

“You are going with the Alpha tomorrow.”

My stomach dropped. “Going with him where?”

“To the Elders’ Meeting,” she said gently. “It is an important council gathering. All high-ranking wolves must attend.”

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    The pack run

The pack square feels different today. Lighter. For the first time since I arrived here, laughter rings freely through the air. Children dart between adults, their shrill giggles echoing as they chase one another. Bright balloons sway above the square, tied to wooden poles and tree branches, their colors catching the sun setting . At the far end, men work together skinning fresh meat, their movements practiced, their voices loud with jokes and teasing. This evening is the month’s pack run. I had heard whispers about it before, how it was one of the oldest traditions of the Red Moon Pack. A night of freedom, of bonding, of wolves being wolves. All morning, the pack has been alive with preparation. Omegas cooking large pots of food, warriors polishing boots and weapons they won’t even carry tonight, women sorting through their finest dresses and cloaks. And me? I spent most of the day right here in the square. Walking around and talking and Smiling. By late afternoon, my feet ac

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    Vulnerability

The library grows quieter after Aria leaves. Her footsteps fade down the corridor, swallowed by the thick stone walls, and suddenly I’m alone with the shelves, the shadows, and the book resting heavily in my hands.I sit at one of the long wooden tables, the surface scarred by time and claw marks. The candle beside me flickers as if reacting to my presence. I hesitate for a moment, then open the book fully. The pages are old. Fragile and written in ink so dark it has almost bled into the parchment. The Era of Blood and Moon. That is the title of the first chapter.I begin to read.At first, it is history. Names. Dates. Treaties that failed. Alliances broken. Wolves and witches who once guarded the forests together, who shared moon rituals and sacred ground. Then the tone shifts. Fear creeps into the words. It speaks of wolves growing restless, suspicious of magic they could not control. Of alphas who feared losing dominance. Of witches accused of curses they never cast, blamed for fai

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    The vision

I can’t breathe inside the pack house. The walls feel too close, the air too heavy with memory and truth. After leaving my aunt’s house, my chest hasn’t stopped aching, but not with grief, but with something restless and alive beneath my skin. So I walk into the garden. The moon hangs low above the trees, bathing the flowers and stone paths in pale silver. Night-blooming roses release their scent, sweet and sharp at the same time. Normally, this place calms me. Ever since I stepped foot into this garden, I felt a surge of peace rushing over me. This place was one of the few places where my size didn’t matter, at least to nature. Tonight, it doesn’t. I place a hand over my stomach, inhaling slowly. That’s when it happens. A sudden surge of hot and electric energy rushes through my veins. My knees nearly buckle as the world tilts. “Lena…” The whisper brushes against my mind. Not my ears. My head snaps up. “Who’s there?” No one answers. The garden blurs at the edges. My visi

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    The truth

The forest feels different today. Quieter and heavier. Every step toward the seer’s cabin makes my heart beat faster, as if it already knows the truths waiting for me. I didn’t tell Damon where I was going. Not because I wanted to deceive him,but because this is something I need to face alone. The small cabin appears between the trees, exactly as before. Old wood. Moss along the edges. Smoke curling gently from the chimney. She’s expecting me. The door opens before I knock. “You’ve come for yourself this time,” the seer says calmly. I step inside, my hands clenched. “I need answers.” She gestures for me to sit. The room smells of dried herbs and earth. Moonlight filters through the window, silver and soft. “My mother,” I say immediately. “Was she… like me?” The seer studies my face for a long moment, then nods. “Yes.” My breath catches. “She was a wolf,” the seer continues, “but she carried witch blood.” Tears sting my eyes. “And my father?” “A full wolf. Loyal to the

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    Marcela

The training ground is quiet. Too quiet for a place meant for strength and sweat and survival. I like it this way. The sun is still low, casting long shadows across the packed earth. A few practice dummies stand at the edges, scarred and worn. I move slowly, deliberately, repeating the same strikes Antonio once showed me. They were awkward, imperfect, but determined. My arms ache. Sweat slides down my spine. I miss my footing once and nearly fall. I steady myself, breathing hard. “You’re wasting energy.” The voice is sharp. Cold. I look up. She stands across the field, tall and straight-backed, muscles coiled beneath fitted training clothes. Brunette hair is tied tightly at the nape of her neck. Her eyes are dark and assessing, cutting into me like blades. She wasn’t there before. “Who are you?” I ask, wiping sweat from my brow. A slow smile curves her lips. Not kind. Not amused. “Marcela,” she says. “High-ranking she-wolf. Commander of the eastern patrol.” The name ri

  • Chosen by the cursed Alpha king    Me for me

Antonio arrives just after dawn, his expression tight, shoulders tense in a way that tells me the news isn’t good.“Alpha,” he says, bowing slightly. “The surveillance cameras at the northern border picked up movement last night. Not pack. Not animal either. But the face was obscured.”Damon is already on his feet before Antonio finishes.“Prepare the patrol,” he orders. “I’ll meet them at the border.”The air around him shifts. It is focused, dangerous, and Alpha like.“I’m coming with you,” I say immediately.Damon turns sharply. “No don’t ““I wasn’t asking.”He exhales slowly, clearly fighting his temper. “Lena, this isn’t…”“I know what it is,” I cut in. “And I won’t be locked away every time danger shows its face.”Antonio looks between us, wisely silent.Damon studies me for a long moment, golden eyes searching. Finally, he turns away.“Do as you wish,” he says curtly. “But stay close.”The border smells wrong.Even before we arrive, my skin prickles. The forest stands too stil
