13 - Bring your mate home

Meagia opened the front door, her eyes red and puffy. She took one last look back at the home she grew up in, a mix of love and pain reflected in her gaze. With a deep breath, she stepped outside, into the bright sunlight. “I never knew I would be kicked out like this from my own home.”

Meagia found herself on the footpath, feeling lost and vulnerable. “Why? Why moon goddess, why? Why do you have to do this to me? I lost everything one day.” The weight of her father's words hung over her like a dark cloud.

She collapsed onto the ground, her tears flowing freely. The pain of rejection consumed her. “I…I cannot let them live freely like this. They have to pay for what they have done to me.” Meagia wiped off her eyes and then stood up from the footpath.

Meagia reached into her pocket and retrieves her cell phone. “Aargh!” She completely forgot about that cut over her palm caused by the shard. Perhaps the emotional pain she had been having was more impactful than the physical one.
