Maya's POV

I felt a shiver go down my spine. “Something about them feels off,” I admitted. “Like maybe they weren’t just random party crashers. Maybe they’re connected to… everything else.”

Theresa rolled her eyes. “Oh my god, Maya. Don’t tell me you’re turning this into some conspiracy theory. They were hot. I was drunk. It happened. End of story.”

I shook my head. “No. There’s more to it. Don’t you see? They showed up out of nowhere, paid you to sleep with them, and then vanished. And now Regan’s in jail for murder and—”

Theresa held up a hand. “Stop. Maya, seriously. I get that you’re worried about Regan, but this has nothing to do with those guys. It was just sex.”

I clenched my fists, trying to hold back my frustration. “You’re not listening. What if they were connected to the murder? Or to Regan? Maybe they were there for a reason, Theresa.”

She snorted laughably. "You're reading way too much into this. Look, I don't know who they were, alright? I never even got their names. Al

Maya's POV"This way," he whispered, leading us toward the admin block.A few students still lingered around the gardens, but no one was near the main offices. Most of the staff had probably left after the memorial. We moved swiftly, staying in the shadows as we moved along the building side. Regan led us to a service door, one that was little used. He attempted the handle, locked."Wait," he said, digging in his pocket. A small kit of tools."You know how to pick locks?" I asked, surprised."You learn a thing or two when your father is demanding and your curiosity is bigger than your sense of self-preservation," he said with a wry smile. A few seconds later, the door creaked open. He pushed it slowly, peering in first before calling us to come along. The hall was dimly lit, the only source of light the occasional flickering fluorescent light. Our footsteps softly echoed off the tile floor. I followed closely behind Regan, Theresa's hand tightly in mine.As we turned a corner, we he

Maya's POVThe door creaked open.We all held our breath. But it wasn't one of the strange men.It was Professor Logan.Regan's face eased immediately. "Dad."Professor Logan nodded and entered calmly, holding a small bag in one hand. He scanned the room and saw me and Theresa. "Good afternoon," he said politely."Good afternoon, sir," we both replied in unison. He did not show any sign that something unusual had just taken place. No strange glances. Not even a hint of recognition in my direction. It was as if nothing had ever happened between us.We heard what happened to Ben," he said, his voice stern but gentle. "It's a terrible thing. Everyone is outraged. Just be careful, okay? People are dying for stupid reasons. Don't get caught up in anything that could get you into trouble."We all nodded. He looked at the beverage on the table. "And drink responsibly," he said with a slight smile before walking past us and into his room. The moment his door closed, Theresa stood up."I don't

Maya's POVRegan shut the fridge quietly and leaned against the counter, facing me fully now.“I mean…” He folded his arms. “It’s one thing for someone random to die, but this is someone tied to a secret you’ve kept. And now he’s dead. Strangled. On school property. That’s not coincidence, Maya. That’s a message.”My mouth went dry. I hadn’t even thought that far, not clearly. He continued, his voice low and even. “Whoever killed Ben might know he was involved with your kidnapping. Maybe they think he talked. Maybe he was going to. Or maybe they know you could recognized him."I swallowed. “So you think, someone silenced him?”Regan didn’t answer immediately. Just looked at me hard.“I think,” he said slowly, “you need to be very careful who you trust. Starting now.”I nodded slowly, my fingers tightening around the plate of cake. And suddenly, the envelope in my bag felt heavier than ever.We returned to the living room. Regan handed Theresa a mug and a small plate with the slice of

Maya's POVI couldn't help it, I had to know. The man who had been trailing behind us was still there when I stopped and went straight up to him.He raised an eyebrow as I stood a moment's distance from him, my arms crossed. "Can I help you?" he said, sounding casual but overly rehearsed."Yeah," I said, crossing my arms. "What were we doing at the memorial service just then? You're not a student, do you seem to be? And you clearly didn't seem to come to mourn."A third man appeared beside him, a smirk dancing on his lips. "We're friends of Ben's," he stated. "From home.""Home?" I asked. "Where is home?""Does it make any difference?" said the third one, a little too hastily.I attempted to push for more before someone took hold of my arm and pulled me back."Maya," Theresa said firmly. "Come on. Let's go.""But,"No buts." She didn't let me complain. She jerked on my wrist and led me past them, along the corridor to the science building.I glanced back over my shoulder. The men

Maya's POVThe class was off the minute we entered. The familiar buzz was missing. Heads were lowered, eyes puffy, the mood somber."Something terrible occurred. I'm certain of it," Theresa said as her hand clutched her bag."There's only one way to know," I said, looking over at a guy sitting in front of me.I frowned and leaned forward. "What's wrong? Why is everyone like we're at a funeral."He slowly turned, talking softly. "You don't know? Ben… Ben is dead.""What?" I blinked. "No, that can't be."Theresa also turned, her face crumbling. "No. He's lying.".But just as I was getting a chance to reply, the door creaked open and Professor Sarah entered. She wore all black. She swept the room with her voice firm. "I know some of you might have already heard, but it's my duty to confirm. One of ours was lost this morning. Benjamin Hartley. His mother, Professor Rose, has requested privacy. A short memorial will be conducted later today in the hall. After that, you're free to go home

  • Claimed By My Professor,Loved By His Son:A forbidden bond   Love Triangle

Maya's POV I blinked, caught off guard by Andrew’s question. A date? Now? I looked at him from the back seat, unsure of what to say. Theresa turned to me, eyebrows raised with a sly smile like she had been waiting for this moment. “I mean…” Andrew chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, “only if you’re down for it. No pressure.” I tried to smile, but my lips barely moved. “We’ll talk about it later,” I said softly, glancing out the window to avoid meeting his eyes. Theresa let out a small laugh. “Somebody’s nervous.” I elbowed her gently. “Stop it.” Andrew said nothing after that, but the car grew quiet. The kind of quiet that made me wish I was anywhere else. My thoughts spun wildly, Regan’s quiet strength earlier today, Andrew’s loyalty, his timing, the hotel room tension… and now this question. I wasn’t ready. Not for decisions. Not for this triangle. “We’ll stop at my place first,” Theresa said after a while, breaking the silence. “Won’t take more than a few minutes.
