Thorne

I was awake by six the next morning.

Sleep had been impossible. I had spent the entire night going over the same things in my head—the name Eira had been hiding, the threats, and the look on her face when I found the message.

None of it made sense.

Father and my brothers were already awake when I came downstairs. Judging by their faces, none of us had gotten much rest.

The drive to Beta Cassian’s house didn’t take long. A few minutes later, we were standing at his front door.

He opened i

Kael’s POVThe final day of the Conclave had arrived, but I couldn’t stop pacing around the room. My father’s revelations kept replaying in my head, leaving me with more questions than answers.Being in my position suddenly felt heavier than ever. Everything around us seemed to be falling apart, and yet I had no idea what the right move was. I knew I couldn’t just sit back and watch Alpha Darius frame us while driving the packs further apart. But the more I thought about it, the more complicated everything became.I grabbed my phone and called Soren, my fingers slightly unsteady. After a few rings, he picked up.“Kael, what’s going on?”I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. “You’re not going to believe this,” I said. “At the Conclave meeting, Father proved that Alpha Darius had been setting us up all along. He brought out the documents. There was clear evidence that everything had been planned.”“So… is that good news or bad news?” Soren asked.“Are you serious?” I snapped. “It’s b

Kael’s POVI sat at the far end of the long oak table in the grand council room, my hands clasped tightly beneath the table so no one would notice how tense I was.The air was heavy with power.Seven Alphas from the seven packs occupied the seats around the table, each one carrying a quiet dominance that seemed to make the room feel smaller. My father, Alpha Ronan, sat at the head of the table as he always did. Calm. Unreadable. Completely in control. This was my first time attending one of these meetings.Honestly, I felt like a kid who had accidentally wandered into a room filled with wolves who had already decided whether I belonged there or not.So I kept my head down, stayed quiet, and listened. For now, watching was the only way I could learn.Alpha Darius of the Frostfang Pack leaned back in his chair, his sharp features set into a cold expression as his eyes remained fixed on me.There was something mocking in his gaze.Something ugly.I knew he still hadn’t gotten over the fa

Kael The morning sun streamed through the windows of my father’s study, reflecting off the wooden panels and bathing the room in a warm golden glow.I sat stiffly in the leather chair across from his desk, my fists clenched so tightly that my knuckles hurt. I was doing everything I could to keep my hands from trembling. The atmosphere felt suffocating.Alpha Ronan watched me from across the desk, his expression impossible to read. It was as if he were studying me piece by piece, searching for something I wasn’t even sure I had.“Do you trust her?”His voice was calm, but there was something sharp underneath it that immediately made me straighten.“Who?” I asked, even though we both knew exactly who he meant.“Eira.”Her name settled heavily in my chest. The truth was, I didn’t know what I felt about her.The mate bond had made everything complicated. One moment, I could feel myself being pulled toward her. The next, I was filled with coldness and disgust. Some days, her courage almos

I walked slowly along the winding path outside the pack house, my feet dragging as I tried to shake the uncomfortable knot in my stomach.I didn’t want to feel this way.But every time Eira crossed my mind, I felt like the air around me grew tighter. She was dangerous. The attacker had made that painfully obvious.Still, something about her kept challenging every instinct I had. There was this quiet pull toward her that I couldn’t explain, and I already hated it.“Soren.”I stopped. My stomach dropped as I turned around.Elara stood a few feet away with her arms crossed, her expression impossible to read. She always had a way of making me feel like I was already standing before a judge.“Hey.”My voice came out cold and flat.I wasn’t sure I wanted to have this conversation, but walking away didn’t feel like an option either.“You’ve been avoiding me.”Her voice was soft, but the accusation underneath it was obvious.I shrugged, trying to keep my expression neutral.“I’ve been busy.”

EiraThe cold night air slapped against my face as I stumbled through the trees. My legs were still trembling from the adrenaline that hadn’t completely faded.I couldn’t make sense of what had just happened. The rustling leaves, croaking frogs, and wind whipping through the branches all sounded distant, almost unreal. The only things that felt real were those red eyes and that low, mocking voice—the voice of a man who somehow already knew my name.I glanced over my shoulder. The triplets weren’t far behind me, but somehow, their presence did nothing to pull me out of the thoughts spiraling through my head.Who was that man?Why did he know my name?I could feel their eyes on me, cold and suspicious, carrying the same distrust they always seemed to have whenever it came to me. It felt like their judgment was closing in from every direction.Footsteps approached from behind.Thorne caught up with me quickly, his breathing slightly uneven. He stopped directly behind me.“Eira. We need t

ThorneAt exactly 9 p.m. the games started.Capture the Flag had been around for centuries, and everyone knew the rules by heart. Both teams set their bases deep in the woods, miles apart. A gunshot cracked through the air, and that was the signal. Whichever side grabbed the other team’s flag first won.It was a tricky game. Over the years packs had come up with all kinds of strategies. Most went for the divide-and-conquer approach, splitting into pairs to hunt. We stuck with the old way hold a strong position and wait for the other side to come to us.Our base sat right beside a stream at the edge of the woods. Kael jammed our bright red flag into the ground, and we settled in to wait for the Frostfang Pack. The silence dragged on for a long time. I didn’t really feel like talking, but somebody had to keep everyone awake so we wouldn’t get ambushed.“How long do you think it’ll take them to find us?” I asked Kael.“Shouldn’t be long,” he shrugged. “Our base is pretty open.”“Yeah,”
