I froze when I turned to face him and saw that he was furious, really furious. I initially thought it was because of our last encounter, but I realized it was deeper than that. I knew I had to play my cards right if I wanted to survive, and I couldn't have Clara getting in the way; her obsession with Silvio could obstruct my path to him.

“Thanks for showing me the room. I think I’d prefer to be alone,” I said dismissively, not wanting to engage in a conversation with him.

“Answer me!” he shouted, and I turned to meet his gaze.

“And what? Yes, I did. She had to pay for what she did to me,” I replied, glaring at him.

“That’s not true. I was there, and I saw that there wasn’t a bruise on your cheek. If there was, it had faded, and it’s been over twenty-four hours. You lied to the Don to get revenge on her,” Sam said, and I held his stare, refusing to back down.

“What are you going to do? Are you going to tell him?” I asked, looking at him as he studied me intently.

My fists clenched in anger as she approached me,Without a word, I turned and walked away, unwilling to engage with her. The events in the conference room that had transpired earlier had left me furious. As I paused and glanced back at her, frustration washed over me. I rolled my eyes and headed down the corridor, I wasn’t in a mood to talk to her, and I wanted her to know that she couldn’t control me.But her loud, commanding voice pierced the silence, ordering me to halt.“Don’t you dare take another step, or you know what will happen!” she shouted, and I found myself frozen. My fists tightened with rage as I stood still. She moved in front of me, and I spat out my words, laced with disdain."What do you want?" I asked rudely, looking at her with disgust. Her eyes burned with anger as she glared back at me."Have some respect for yourself, young lady. You know the repercussions of your actions. I can destroy you with

"My father married his nurse, an outsider and a maid, and I know he did it out of love, not obligation. Are you going to claim my blood isn't pure, Matteo? I'm waiting for you to say that," Silvio replied, and I could see fear creeping into Matteo's expression. His words stunned me; his mother was a maid and an employee of the mafia. No one seemed to be above this revelation, which meant everyone must have known. I could see the fear he instilled in others, and I didn't want to know the reasons behind it. I understood he was ruthless and commanded respect."She accused my daughter, my own child, of hitting her when that wasn't the case. She is a nun. Forgive me, Don, but we cannot accept whatever this is. We have no issue if she stays in the bedroom; this meeting is for family only, not outsiders," Matteo spat, glaring at me.I could now see the resemblance, both in demeanor and appearance; he was the father of Sam and Clara. I knew they wouldn't want me here, but I w

Silvio POVI still recall the moment I saw her in my room; I could have killed her right then, but as I gazed at her, I froze. Memories crashed over me like waves, leaving me in shock. She resembled her, my deceased mother, the woman I had longed for and cried out for in pain, who had abandoned me in this harsh world.Reality hit me when she took me into her mouth and began to suck. I was mesmerized by her beauty, and in that instant, I realized she was a gift from my mother, my angel.I would have claimed her then and there, but I noticed she enjoyed the tease, leaving me hanging and aroused. If it had been another woman, I would have acted differently, but with her, I couldn't.Not a moment passed without me recalling her on her knees, taking me in her mouth. I thought she would return, as they often do when seeking my attention, but she never did.Growing tired of waiting, I focused on my work. That night, I saw her again; she seemed like a siren, ca

I stood there in shock, my hands trembling as I held the picture. I knew everyone would see it as a coincidence, but I understood the truth; it was much deeper than that.Whatever Ruth said after that, I knew I didn’t grasp it, but the last thing I remembered was my head hitting the ground as my eyes closed and darkness enveloped me.I sighed as I opened my eyes and felt someone touching my face. The first person I saw was him, Silvio. His hair fell over his eyes as he looked at me.“You're awake,” he said as I sighed and sat up with his help, my head pounding as I recalled what had caused me to faint in the first place.“What happened?” I moaned as I held my head.“You fainted. As soon as I heard, I had to come for you,” he said, and I sighed again.“I’m okay,” I replied, but he shook his head.“No, you’re not. Don’t tell me that. You’re not. Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t get treated earlier today? You lied when I asked,” he said, and I looked away in shame.“The doctor was rude,

“What!” I asked him, as if I had no idea what he was talking about.“I have a camera in my room, and I can clearly see Vespera trying the codes,” he whispered, and my eyes widened at his words.“I’m sorry, I didn’t have time to tell you. She pushed me off the stairs because she found out I caught her,” I said, and he nodded.“That’s settled. It’s probably Max who sent her that” he mumbled.“ Now come here,” he said as he pulled me onto his lap. I tried to hide my wince, as my body still hurt.He could see my expression, and as he looked at my face, he said, “You’re hurt. I thought you said you…” but I silenced him with a kiss. He kissed me deeper while holding me close.“I never got to thank you for standing up for me today. I wasn’t expecting it, and seeing as you’ve done that twice within twenty-four hours, I can’t help
