She threw her hands at me, but I held them in the air and pushed her back down, showing how weak her defense was. She even attacked without holding herself down.
“You need to sit down and listen to me. You’re a member of this family. You’re a Steele, so act like it.!”My dominant voice sent her to the right door. She wanted to be far away from me.
“I don’t know why you did what you did. You took out my SIM card and tossed my phone. Come on, who does that to a wife? If I were the wife and I did this to your phone, what would you do?” She sobbed as she showed me both hands, sh; folded them into fists, but she knew better than to hit me.
I’d make her look weaker than before. I might even try to snap her hand a bit.
“You don’t know how to throw punches whi, which means you don’t even know how to defend yourself. There’s a lot you need to learn, Suzy, and I’d get you a new phone before you wake up tomorrow morning. Are you hungry?”
“Don’t ask me a question you know the answer to.” She hissed. I knew she wasn’t hungry because she had had her satisfaction, and that was enough for her.
Returning to the house with Suzy will cause a lot of reactions, especially with my father, because he’ll start putting the pieces together to figure out why his son is with another lady.
“Lead her to my room,” I ordered one of the guards before turning to my father at the dining table.
“I have to be sure that you returned to the castle in one piece. Is that one of the whores you brought from that brothel at the outskirts of this pack?” He uttered under his breath, I was only relieved that she wasn’t here. She’s lucky that I didn’t see her, or else I’d have made her repeat those words before the council.
“First off, she’s not a whore, and secondly, you love going to the brothel, but I’m the opposite of what you are.”
“Are you trying to insult your father?” He replied to me with a question,n but I wanted to know exactly what Quinn said to them.
“So you’ve been making plans with Quinn, and you refused to tell anyone about it. Quinn told us that you both have planned an expensive trip outside this pack, and not only that y, but you both are also making plans for marriage.” My father’s words amused me. I wonder what his reaction would be when he figures out that I’m getting married to Suzy and not Quinn.
She adds no value to my life, all she do it take and doesn’t have the caliber to work for her wealth. She’s depending solely on her inheritance, and I wonder how her father copes with her.
I remembered the first time we had a date, she made me spend so much that I had to reflect on whether leaving the house was the right decision to make. She loves a luxurious life and expects to always have a big bank account to grant that wish.
She’s never asked about my wins or my losses, but on Suzy’s first day at work, she saves me from making a wrong move.
“I didn’t even say a word to your father because I was so scared.” She mentioned that immediately I walked into the room, I could tell she was afraid.
“You don’t need to worry about my father; the only problem you’d have to worry about in this household is someone named Quinn.” I tried to embrace her, but she had both hands stretched out, revealing the distance she wanted to keep between us.
This isn’t part of the contract; she’s meant to be my wife.
“Is she your wife?” She inquired, scanning her eyes around the room at the pictures on the wall. I’d never keep Quinn’s picture in my room; it’s uncalled for, and it’s better off if I put a picture of Suzy on my wall rather than Quinn.
“If I were married to her, you wouldn’t be here, you wouldn’t have the job I gave to you.” I avoided telling her that Quinn and I had some sort of connection in the past. It was not worth telling.
“So what’s the next play?” She asked as she pointed both hands to the bed, ; she wanted to know if she would be sharing the same bed with me.
“We’re married, so we have to share this bed.” I chuckled, wondering if she was acting this up.
“I can take the floor while you take the bed,” S, he proposed fol,, folding her arms and waiting for my response. Inse, I wondered why she wasn’t smiling.
“No one is sleeping on the floor, it’s big enough for four people, and we’re just two.” I declined her proposition, and it made me wonder if she didn’t want my arms wrapped around her.
“This is the time to sleep, so I don’t want you touching me p, please. I'd have to wake up early in the morning so we can both prep for work since we have to take turns using the washroom.” She got into the sheets and turned her back on me.
“The washroom is big enough for our kids and us. You don’t need to make a fuss about it because this isn’t Olivia’s rickety home.” I laughed it off the moment she turned to look at me directly.
“That’s my residence, so don’t make fun of it just because you’re financially stable.” She let out a warning, keeping her eyes glued to me.
“I’m not financially stable, you know that rig,, right?” I smirked, trying to reach for her arm when she pushed my hand back.
“You’re rich, you don’t have to rub it on my face.”
“You’re going to be rich too.” I tried to make her laugh, but she had a hardened look on her face. It looked like a wall that I couldn’t break at that time.
“By association. If I never agreed to that contract I w, I wouldn’t be here, so I’m not rich yet. I’m not independent like you.” Suzy was right, but deep down I wished she’d understand how much she makes me feel.
“You know the condition of the weather yet, you want me to beg you. It’s your duty to protect me; it’s stated in the contract that you should open your arms and wrap them around me. Isn’t that right?”
“Is that an order?”
Enzo POV What’s he doing here? I never knew Alaric would show up again. He wants to be everywhere I am, trying to create a fuss that no one is seeing. I knew Suzy was worried when she saw him because he’s the reason why she left that day, but I was surprised when she held my hand and danced with me. Suzy acted like he wasn’t there, and I was the only one; she danced more than before. It felt like she had mastered every step I taught her back in my office. I didn’t even realize that everyone had stopped dancing and focused their attention on us. When the music stopped, I looked into her eyes and planted a kiss on her lips before turning around to see Quinn and her father sitting at the place reserved for them. “Now that’s what we call a dance that will be remembered. You did well at your first trial, Suzy.” My father praised her. “This is my second trial. He showed me the steps, and I copied them. It’s simple logic, nothing to be worried about.” I pulled out the seat for her and
Amber POV “Let’s have a glass of wine. What’s a party without wine?”“But we’re not at the event yet; we’re still home.”“I’ve got nothing to worry about since I’m not the one driving.” He downed everything in his cup before going out of the house.I didn’t take a sip out of the glass he gave me; I dropped it back on the table and followed him. By the time I got into the back of the SUV, his father strolled out of the house. “Where is Quinn?”“I have someone filling in her position for now, Father. Let’s go; we’re running late. This is a family friend occasion, and we have to be present throughout every process.” I heard every word he said to his father because he left the door open to respond to him. He got in and planted a kiss on my cheek. “You look absolutely stunning. They only added extra because you’re so pretty.” He turned to his phone, and there was a message from his supposed wife, Quinn. WE SHOULD ATTEND THE BIRTHDAY OCCASION TOGETHER. WHAT COLOR OF DRESS SHOULD I GET?
Amber POVOpening my eyes and feeling the warmth of his arms around me is the best feeling ever. He waited for me to wake up before he stood up from the bed because I could see how he wrapped me in his left arm and used his right hand to press his phone.“You’re awake, my princess. How’s your sleep?” He chuckled as he dropped his phone and then picked up something from the other side of the bed that was unknown to me. “A flower, a small note written by me, and an outfit for the occasion today.” He dropped the box between us and handed the letter and the flower to me. “What occasion?” I imagined the last time I ever received a gift from a man. Ryan only gave me little things while we were dating, but the moment we got married, it felt like the whole game had changed. He treated me like I was a burden to him. I feel so relieved that I don’t have to be in his shoes anymore. “There’s a birthday celebration. The Eastwood Pack has a new heir, and his wife just conceived a male cub, whic
