LOGINTyrel (Third-person POV) Both wolves move like lightning. One minute they are yards away in the distance. The next, their shadows are upon the White one and Tyrel like a tree shade. The latter's teeth has barely touched Kerris' neck when something hit him like a giant brick, sending him to his knees. The pain from the blow blurs Ty's vision. For a few long moments, all he can see is stars in murky darkness. Kerris must have been hit, too. No doubt, by mistake. When Ty blinks to clear his sight, he sees her falling, only to be caught in Ares' arms. Meanwhile the creature stands over him, about to launch another attack. He drags himself away on all fours while trying to force Kaelan out, but his wolf seems unwilling to emerge. Or maybe the crushing pain is making it hard to focus so he can shift. The monster towers behind him and is about to pin him with thick metal claws. But Ty rolls away in a swift move and finally, inhaling deeply, Kaelan, his wolf comes out. He rises, lifting
Kerris POV I forget all about my worries about Zach. What could be the problem now? The Yellow Corn Grill is a local restaurant just outside the Moon Shadow. Why's dad asking to meet there instead of coming here or to the house I now live? "Dad..." My heart starts to thump. When will all the worries end? I thought I was past the point of trouble by now, especially after catching the male who poisoned me. I steal a glance at Caleb while still holding the phone to my ear. He looks away. As a high-born warrior wolf, it's quite possible that he can hear dad on the other end. "Kerris?" Dad says. "I need you to get here in ten minutes. Remember what I told you? That you're a very special--" He stops. Or did someone snatch the phone from him? What follows is a beep sound and the call ends. I tap the redial but can't get through. "Is everything alright, Miss Hart," Caleb asks. One foot is between the elevator door, and his expression doesn't betray whether he heard dad's words or not.
Tyrel (Third-person POV)Tyrel shifts back to human form and walks bare feet into the Moon Shadow pack for the first time in a whole week. He has been running the pack by proxy because he needs time away from everyone. He needed the space to deal with what he just learned.Zach Stone is not Zach Stone. A demon is wearing his uncle's skin. How long has it been so? Weeks? Months? Years? It doesn't matter. The Alpha King is the creature he must capture. This is probably a good thing. A stronger reason to cleanse the throne.Ty is aware that pack elders believe he's hiding due to shame. Emily, the idıõt cūńt, truly is pregnant, and they're all disappointed. The old bãståŕds, sniffing around things that aren't their business. Only a few of them know she's being detained for drugs. None of them know the drugs in question is a deadly poison, and so they don't realize that Emily Hart may never return to the Moon shadow. She won't keep the bãstârd child either. The consequences for her crim
Zach POVJustin's sharp gasp is a distant sound when I let my wolf out. Because he fears it's the beast that would emerge if I shift. It is Ares who pushes out of my skin, diving into the woods to begin the hunt. Apart from my Beta, I can't tell who else is following behind as we race deeper into the forest. I don't spare a moment to look back. If Emily truly escaped close to dawn like they said, that's less that twenty minutes ago. Being an ordinary wolf, she could not have gone far in that time. Goddess forbid that she's made it out of the kingdom. I can sense other wolves around and guess they're the search party who went after her earlier. Barely ten minutes into the hunt, I cross the border into the Crow Moon Pack with Justin sticking close. It is Chief Gamma who comes to greet me first, dragging with him, my person of interest. He pulls the prisoner out by the arm and make her fall on her knees before me. "Your majesty," he bows in greeting. 'Gamma Simon,' I return. "Sh
Zach POVThose people deserved to die! I don't spare the time to think of how, why or when I came to the conclusion. It just feels true. They all got what they deserved. More words continue to fall out of my mouth as Justin stares at me with terror in his eyes, "Emily, whose last name should not be Hart, is going to die, too. She'll get divine retribution for plotting evil against someone who called her family." The old me would feel as horrified as my Beta for saying this aloud. Two weeks ago, it was unthinkable that I would shamelessly own those killings the way I'm doing now. I'm supposed to be wallowing in guilt. Those were all people I should've watched over as their warrior and king.Am I finally coming to terms with the fact that I'm evil and nothing can change it? Not even my beloved white wolf? Or is it that Kerris giving herself to me in spite of the beast has changed how I feel about myself. If she wants me despite the monster, it means I was wrong about the tough guy.
Zach POV'I should have taken the woods.'I watch the trees speed past my Cadillac, feeling a strong need to be out there among them. "I know the moon is waning," Justin says. "But I'm glad you're riding instead of racing. It's safer." It's the first time he has spoken since we got in the car. I'm about to tell him that I'm no longer in danger of having the beast come out to do violence, but another thought hit me. Every passing day feels more and more like my days of worrying about the monster are now behind me. I glance at Justin in the driver's seat. His expression has been odd ever since he received the package. No. He's been like this since we got the call from Caleb. I refused to believe he has any sympathy for the person we're going to meet. I would rather not hear him try to talk me out of hurting them, so I haven't asked what's on his mind. All I want right now is to get to that prison and do my duty. "You don't agree?" He asks. "Nope. Racing's always better than ridin
Kerris POV“Does your girlfriend know?" I ask, feeling bitter. My voice comes out sharper than I want it to be. "Does she approve of you touching and kissing another just so you can lure the other wolf out to hurt him?” His eyes harden. A expression turns cold as he replies, “No, she doesn't. Let'
Kerris POVNemesis? The single word does not make sense to me. Not immediately. Not when the rest of his words are stirring a powerful heat in my core. My body quivers with an overwhelming need for him to do all he says he will do. His warmth surrounds me as iridescent eyes hold me spellbound. "We
Zach POVMoments later, Ty and I are alone in one of the ground floor meeting rooms. "You know, you're really starting to piss me off," I point a warning finger at him.His lips tightens before he remarks,"With all due respect, uncle, I could say the same. That girl belongs to--""You don't wan

It's how he addresses me in front of our human acquaintances. Very friendly and informal. Everyone else calls me Miste
