"You're late, Aurora," Lucian spat, his yellow eyes gleaming even in the gloom. "I was starting to think you wouldn't come to see the show."

Cael growled, tightening his claw around Lucian's throat.

"Say one more word to her and I'll rip your tongue out by the root."

Aurora entered the room, the pistol aimed at Lucian's head.

"Where is the rest of your pack?"

Lucian laughed, a wet, broken sound.

"Having a party in your backyard, darling. But don't worry..." His eyes roamed over her body with sick possessiveness. "I saved the best parts for myself."

It was then that Aurora noticed—the strange smell in the air, the pieces of flesh scattered on the floor. Lucian hadn't brought just Gavin's heart.

He had brought gifts.

Cael let out a roar that shattered the remaining glass.

"That was your last mistake."

The fight resumed, more brutal than before, and Aurora knew only one of them would leave that room alive.

She raised her gun, waiting for her opening.

Tonight, an Alpha would die.

And she

And then she began to sing.It was no ordinary song, but an ancestral melody in a forgotten tongue. The runes responded immediately, glowing blood-red. The revenants halted, as if recognizing the voice.Cael seized the moment of hesitation to attack, this time tearing an arm from the nearest creature. The limb did not regenerate."Keep going!" he ordered, shielding Aurora as she worked.Aurora's chant grew in intensity, her voice now reverberating off the basement walls. The runes began to dissolve, the clotted blood running down the stone like tears. With each rune that vanished, a revenant crumbled, this time for good. But the effort was taking its toll. Aurora felt warm blood trickling from her nose, her vision darkening at the edges."Just a little more," Cael encouraged, his body as solid as a rock beside her.The last revenant howled, a sound echoing with ancient pain, before dissolving into dust. And then silence.Aurora collapsed into Cael's arms, her song ceasing abruptly."T

Aurora and Cael began their inspection of the territory. The traces of the fight were still everywhere—claw marks on the trees, dark stains of dried blood on the earth, the acrid smell of ashes and death.Aurora walked beside Cael, her fingers interlaced with his. The touch was more than a gesture of affection; it was a silent affirmation of their union before the watchful eyes of the pack."The first repairs must begin with the southern fence," Cael pointed to the destroyed barrier. "Without it, we are vulnerable to attacks from other packs."Aurora agreed with a nod, but her eyes were fixed on something beyond the fence. Among the trees, a group of wolves watched—the newly integrated members from Lucian's pack. They kept their distance, but their eyes shone with a mix of curiosity and distrust."They need time," she murmured, squeezing Cael's hand."Time is a luxury we don't have," he replied, lowering his voice. "We need to secure their loyalty before other Alphas catch the scent o

The morning light arrived pale and cold over the pack's territory. The air still carried the smell of smoke and blood, now mixed with the salt of unshed tears. Aurora stood on the funeral hill, the wind stirring her black overcoat—the same one Cael had worn that night in the underground.Behind her, rows of bodies lay on funeral pyres. Gavin was at the center, wrapped in black silk, his face finally at peace. The other warriors who fell in battle lay around him, each with their weapons upon their chest.Cael stepped forward, his torso still marked by the wounds of the fight. He carried a torch, the flames dancing in his golden eyes."They did not die for nothing," his voice echoed over the silent assembly. "Each one chose to fight. Each one chose to protect what is ours."Aurora felt the knot in her throat tighten. She looked at Jarek, still pale but standing, his wound bandaged beneath his ceremonial clothes. Marcos was beside him, with his arm in a sling, his eyes red with anger and

The blood froze in Aurora's veins."Lucian is here?"Marcos opened the bag, revealing grenades and extra magazines."He sent a message for you." His eyes met hers. "'Come claim your redemption, omega. Or hide like the cowardly bitch you've always been.'"Aurora didn't think. She grabbed a pistol from the table and cocked it."Then let's give my mate a reason to hurry back."Marcos smiled, wild."Now you're speaking my language."Outside, a new sound echoed—not gunfire, not screams. The long, furious howl of an Alpha wolf.Cael.And he sounded hungry.Cael's howl echoed again, closer this time, and the answer came immediately—a series of guttural snarls that made the walls tremble. Lucian wasn't alone. He had brought his pack.Aurora felt instinct pull her toward the door, her fingers tingling with the need to shift. But Marcos blocked her path."Wait, Luna. You go out that door now, you become a moving target." He threw a bulletproof vest at her. "Cael would kill me if I let you go ou

The elevator stopped with a jolt that made Aurora swallow hard. The doors opened to reveal a narrow corridor, lit by red emergency lights that painted everything in a bloody hue. The air was colder here, heavy with the smell of damp concrete and static electricity.Jarek stepped out first, his stride quick and sure. Aurora followed, her bare feet bristling against the icy floor."Where are we going?" she whispered, her eyes scanning every shadow."Alpha Security Room," Jarek answered without looking back. "Reinforced, no windows, no blind spots. Cael built it personally after you two fled from Lucian."Aurora's heart tightened at the enemy's name. Six months. Six months since she and Cael had narrowly escaped Lucian's territory, leaving behind allies, blood, and broken promises. And now, the past was back to collect its debt.A solid steel door appeared at the end of the corridor, marked only by a discreet symbol—a wolf and a moon intertwined. Jarek pressed his palm against a hidden p
