Chapter 13

Roxanne

“You look beautiful, love." I look up at Isaac and give him a poker face. “Give me a smile. You look marvellous when you smile."

“I will smile when I get rid of you. Maybe…." I give him a smile. “then you will see me smiling. Genuinely."

His face falls and his hold on my palm increases. I wince.

“You are hurting me." That snaps him out and his hold loosens. I have seen how he gets affected by my pain, maybe someday I will use that against him.

I look around at the people present in the hall. Many of them are from his side. My eyes catch Mr Rodriguez talking with some people along with dad.

He was not that happy with Isaac's decision I guess because when he came to congratulate us he had said to Isaac what a big mistake he is making by marrying me.

Among them I saw a man maybe in his late twenties or early thirties. Among all of them he was the only, who looked like he could be somewhere else than here. With shoulder length hair in a half bun, he looked handsome.
