NATHANIEL STORM

“Mr. Storm, wait,” Amir stopped me before I could reach the door.

“What?” I snapped.

“Calling Amaya up here will be better,” he reasoned.

However, I wasn’t swayed by that reason.

I turned and asked, “Why are you being nice? You do know that this woman’s behaviour tracks, right? She has never hidden how obsessed she is with me, so it makes sense that she sent that package. Now, acting stupidly obsessed in my face is something I can forgive, but extending that stupidity to Sarah, sending her nonsense to threaten her? That’s something I can’t forgive.”

“Mr. Storm,” Amir sighed. “I’m not saying that because of her. We have to be quiet about this as much as possible.. If not, we will attract unnecessary noise. Remember, not everyone in this company is faithful.”

“True.” The eagerness in my feet reduced, so did the anger in my voice. “If you put it that way, you have a point.” So, I went back to my seat. Once seated, I instructed, “Call her up here. And come with the imag

(Trigger Warning; Mild imagery related to SA.)AMIR JAMEELI have always been a simple person. I became simpler after I won my fight against cancer. With my might, I took life seriously yet easily. I didn’t stress when my father strayed further from my mother and I, and I didn’t break down when I realised that my illness had pushed me back many years behind my peers. I soldiered on and found a new beginning in S.L. Storm Entertainment. Even though the remnants of the lovely past I used to have occasionally seeped into my mind, I started to enjoy my fresh start. But that day… The good thing I found was tainted. After it happened, I thought I remembered it wrong. I said to myself, ‘Maybe I gave them a reason to act like that. Maybe I didn’t say no loud enough. Maybe I…’But I said no. I know that much. I can still hear myself screaming my refusal. I refused and refused, I even tore myself away when they managed to pin me down while sharing intoxicated giggles. And, they had their

SARAH PIERCE“So, Amaya was your Head of Projects, who just returned from vacation?” I asked after returning from the bathroom, where I just spat a chunk of saliva because the images of the butchered woman triggered terrible feelings within my body. “And her fingerprints were found on the package I received the other day?”“That evidence was enough to hand her over to the police,” Nathaniel replied, shifting so I could sit next to him. Once I was seated, he continued, “However, the vehicle transporting her was attacked. It seems someone else is our real culprit.”“But, why?” My fingers rested beneath my chin as my soul struggled with the thought of someone crazy threatening my life. “If there’s another culprit out there, they could have allowed Amaya to take the fall. Right? Why bother killing her?”“Maybe the psycho doesn’t like to share credit for their crime,” Amir suggested.“Why bother using Amaya in the first place? They must have chosen to use Amaya’s fingerprints to cover up t

SARAH PIERCEI swear, each time this woman, called Evelyn Storm, appears before me, I always wish for a boulder to fall from the sky and crush her mouth. She always has something crazy to say.Just what does she mean by I’m planning to kill her son? What have I done to warrant her calling me a criminal?“Nathaniel,” she said to her son, “divorce her right away. She’s plotting to ruin you.”“Coming here to speak nonsense is not a good look, Mother,” he replied. “I knew you would act this way. That’s why I came with evidence.” She pointed to the image on the phone. “Do you see how she openly hugs another man in public?”I stretched my neck to see that it was an image from yesterday, when Mr. Peter helped me from falling. The picture was captured so that it looked like we were having a romantic moment. But that’s laughable. The picture doesn’t prove anything solid, yet this woman has decided to hold on to it, making it a big deal.“Mother,” Nathaniel scoffed, “even if that’s what she’s

SARAH PIERCEWhen I heard Nathaniel’s door close, the rapid throbbing in my heart reduced. The thing is, when he walked in earlier, he looked so fine. His hair was roughened, perhaps because of the day’s work, and his eyes, even though they were a bit sunken, were as gorgeous as always. Basically, he was so fine that I lost composure and started smiling at him. Thank God I regained my senses before they could go haywire. Can you see now that continuing to live in this house could eventually get dangerous? I want this new arc of my life to be all about self-development and raising Raya without having to compromise. Chasing romance with my ex or any man is not something I picture. After concluding in my heart what I wanted for myself, a light exhale left me, my eyes shifting to Raya, who stirred in her sleep. Then, my phone vibrated.I took it out of my bag, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that it was Amir calling. It has been more than twenty-four hours since my mother reve

NATHANIEL STORMWhile I was unsure about telling Sarah about Amaya Sanquez, who should be in interrogation by now, I certainly wasn’t feeling pleased that I would be talking to her about our annulment. But, it is what it is. I must man up and do this. So, after a firm exhale left me, I unlocked the front door and went in. Sarah and Raya were both in the living room, but it seemed like they were asleep. However, when I moved closer, Raya was the only one sleeping. Sarah’s eyes were creepily wide open because, without blinking, she just kept staring at the ceiling.“Uh… Sarah?” I won’t lie, she scares me sometimes. Just calling out her name felt like I was doing something sacred that would ruin me. I can only blame my guilt for that feeling.“Oh,” she sat up, “you are back. How was work?” she strangely asked.“Uhm, fine?”“Good,” she replied with a smile. Why does she seem excited? What is responsible for that excitement? I want to learn it so that my days of pissing her off can fi

ROSALINE PIERCE“What’s your progress?” I asked the man on the other end of the call.‘I need five hours more,’ he replied, typing noises accompanying his response. ‘The security system is quite tight. It’s not going to be as easy as I thought.’“But is it doable?” I questioned so that I could know whether to start panicking or not.‘Of course it is doable. Don’t underestimate me, Rosa. I will deliver as usual. Just make sure you deliver your part when I am done.’“I will. Your package will be intact as long as you give me good news. So, work faster. I’ll call you later.”‘Sure.’ And he rudely ended the call. That was the leader of the hackers I contacted to alter the security videos from the day of the accident (Wasn’t that yesterday? It feels like it happened days ago. Honestly, it still feels like a dream).Anyway, I can’t wait to receive the good news that my face has been replaced with Sarah’s. Once I get that confirmation, I’ll swing into action and disrupt that bitch’s life.“
