NATHANIEL STORM

Seconds passed, and Sarah leaned more and more into our hug. And it fluttered my heart that she wasn’t backing away. And, I became a bit greedy.

One of my hands swiftly and carefully travelled to the back of her head, which I caressed slowly while my chin nuzzled the top of her lovely-scenting hair.

“I hate that this feels good,” she admitted, and my heart went crazy with excitement that I fought to contain.

Then, I asked, “Do you want to stop?”

“Not yet.”

My excitement turned wilder. Her response encouraged me so much that with a little smile playing on my lips, I decided to take things further.

I asked, “Do you mind us going to the living room?”

She stirred. “To sit?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay.”

That single word led me to lift her bridal style, and as her scent continued to play with my senses, I became greedier. My head started to imagine us walking down the wedding aisle.

However, I cautioned myself.

The moment was not about me but her and her search for a means to soothe

ROSALINE PIERCE“Do you think she’s playing a game with us?” I deliberated as Edward sank into his chair after his call with Nathaniel, who informed him that his wife was missing. “Maybe she planned this to fuck us up.”“I think the same,” he answered, but the weakness in his voice suggested otherwise.I then hurried to his side. “You have to stay calm, baby. I’m sure she’s fine.”“I don’t care if she’s fine or not.” He looked up at me as I perched on the arm of the sofa. “There’s something important I need to get from her. I have been trying to get my hands on it for ages. I bet she’s hiding it somewhere close. But I don’t know where.”“Maybe I can help you look for it.”He hissed in refusal as he wrapped his hands around my waist. “It’s not easy to find. Don’t stress yourself. But this is bad. Now that Eve is missing, how do we pin the accident on Sarah’s blabber mouth?”“We can still blame her in other ways,” I said with a little smirk.“What does that even mean, Ro-Ro?” he asked,

SARAH PIERCE“His number is still unreachable,” I said after helping Nathaniel dial his father’s number again because he was driving us back home. “I can’t believe that man,” Nathaniel sighed. “How could he be so irresponsible?”“Do you have Rosaline’s number? Maybe they are together.”“I don’t.” He then shook his head as he reached for his phone and set it down. “Let’s forget about those two. Hearing updates from the hospital and the police is more important.”“It is,” I replied as I turned to check on Raya, who was buckled into the car seat Nathaniel apparently bought after our last visit to the hospital. That is super thoughtful of him, I won’t lie. And I like that that trait about him hasn’t changed. He was always super quiet with his niceness, and that always made his actions more impactful. Just like when he bought new clothes for Raya and me. “Huh,” Nathaniel grunted as his body inclined forward. “Who’s that in front of our house?”I looked ahead. “Oh. That’s my mother.” How

NATHANIEL STORMWhile I was unable to erase the intense yet short conversation with that strange man who thought threatening Sarah was some sort of power move, what Amir just said made my head spin. It was not what I was expecting to hear. My hands falling to hold my waist, I shifted closer and asked, “Missing how?”‘According to the call, one of the nurses went to check on her about thirty minutes ago, but her room was empty. She’s still missing.’“What about my father? Isn’t he there?” I asked as I took Sarah’s phone from her hand so her arm wouldn’t hurt. ‘They said he left about two hours ago.’Oh, that freaking cheat. He just had to crawl back to that woman, didn’t he? “I still don’t understand,” I gulped while a little frown formed because I was indeed trying to understand his statement, “how on earth did she go missing from the hospital? Did she wake up and walk out by herself?”‘No, she didn’t. The hospital needs you to come in before they take further action. They tried r

SARAH PIERCEThat certainly played out unexpectedly.I don’t know what changed things and made me more receptive to Nathaniel's presence. Maybe it was the hug? Or the way his penis reacted? Or was it the great calm I felt in his presence? Or the tiredness that had built in my soul?Whatever it was, it crumbled my frustrations towards him, and all of my senses became open to listening to him, so much so that I began to picture the future he was talking about. But I know better than to entertain that imagination to the point of blindly saying yes.As I said, I will take my time to think about everything. Who knows? Despite my decisions in the past few weeks, I might heed the deep love I still have towards Nathaniel and end up wanting to do life with him again. If not. Oh well. “Mummy, eat,” Raya almost screamed into my ears as she slurped her spaghetti. “I’m eating, baby,” I said, my eyes flickering to Nathaniel, who was seated opposite us, working like he didn’t work all day. “Do you

NATHANIEL STORM“Based on the images you received, it is clear that Miss Amaya was murdered and then moved to her apartment, where we found her,” Detective Dave explained.I nodded while pinching my thigh to help me focus. My mind was still in a struggling space, and I would have gone home straight from the hospital if I had not gotten a call from the detective asking to come down to give my statement. He continued, saying, “Forensics are still analysing the scene and other factors, but we’ve gotten nothing so far regarding the new suspect. However, before we get those results, we need something to work with before this case becomes tangled. Is there anyone you have in mind? Someone who has ill intentions towards you, perhaps?”“Well, there’s someone. She’s very unhinged, yes. But murder? That’s a whole different level. I don’t think she’s capable of that much madness.”“One madness often leads to another,” he replied. “We shouldn’t rule this person out. Can we get her name?”“Rosali
