Chapter 6: I won't let you go this time

Veronica's Point of View

"Ouch!"

"Ahh...! Ughh! Stop!"

"Ngh... Yes! There!"

“Shut up!” I strongly shoved the Alpha jerk because of the strange meaning of each of his grunts. He instructed me to massage his back and because I was tired and didn’t want any argument, I did what I was told. But… this man was shameful! “If you don't stop, someone else might overhear you and have a strange thought—”

My speech was cut short when he gripped my waist, rubbed it down, and drew his face so near to mine. "Sorry to break it to you, Miss little wolf but you’re the only one thinking of worldly things here between the two of us."

He grinned at me before giving me a gentle nudge that nearly caused my ankle to trip. He turned his back on me as I fanned my face to show that I was uninterested in the caress he gave me—I could feel the heat there—and moved over to Morgan's crib.

If you wanted to know where this crib came from, you should know that the haughty Alpha Jaxon just bought it to impress me with his wealth and what he could afford to buy. He seemed to want to tell me that I couldn't live without him because I couldn't afford to buy them for my son. Would you believe it? Obviously not. Who would think he had consideration after what he did to us two days ago?

I couldn't help but think of what the doctor who checked me up said the day after Alpha Jaxon declared his dominion over me as I watched Morgan's long eyelashes.

The Doctor’s words repeated to me as if they were a mantra.

“Two days from now, your heat will come out along with your wolf. You know what Alphas can do when they can sniff a she-wolf? They tend to knot them.”

“Two days from now, your heat will come out along with your wolf. You know what Alphas can do when they can sniff a she-wolf? They tend to knot them.”

My blood ran cold on my veins as my heart thundered.

I should be more thrilled that my wolf would emerge soon, and that when it does, I would finally be able to protect Morgan and myself. However, why did my mind set on the thought that he would knot me? Thinking about it made me want to hurry up and wait for that day to come.

"By the way, are you certain I'm going to let Caroline go?" I cut off on my thoughts with a sudden voice.

I stood up straight when I heard that name again. When I thought back to what had transpired on the day we were supposed to leave the Dark Blood pack's territory, it felt as if someone had stabbed me in the back of the neck.

Caroline Lark. The Princess of Midnight pack. They had a reputation for being the best spies and could assassinate you covertly. Although they are frequently suspected of homicides in several packs, the superiors were unable to apprehend them due to the lack of proof.

On that day, she attacked me. And even though I descended from the Alpha bloodline, I was powerless to stop any of that as she pointed at Morgan and her jagged claws. My hands and fingers began to shake, and my knees began to buckle. It was the first time I felt worthless and powerless. My life depended on Morgan, so I couldn't stand to lose him. I was unable to envision my existence without him.

I knew exactly why she had treated Morgan and I that way. I cocked my head slightly to look at Alpha Jaxon, who I had no idea was also staring at me. He was waiting for my response, his knees crossed, and his forehead creased.

I get chills just thinking about that chick. I sighed and tightened my fist. I needed to relax. I opened my mouth after exhaling a little of stress, "I don't care what you will do to her. Do anything you want, it is your duty anyhow."

I heard the rustle of him standing up and turned my attention back to Morgan. I had no idea where the bitterness that I felt in my heart's side came from. It kept trying to penetrate into my veins like poison.

He ceased speaking once more and left the room. After a few minutes of not hearing his steps anymore, something electrifying struck my entire body.

"Agh...!"

I knelt on the floor with my hand on the crib for support. I couldn't hold my breath, it was choking me as my heart was being squeezed. It's like my whole body was burning with a strange heat that had no source.

Don't tell me...

"Hey, stupid woman—"

When the door burst open, I looked up to see Alpha Jaxon staring at me but still composed. His eyes went back to being frigid as though they had been fun just now as I lifted my hand to ask for assistance.

Tears streamed from the corners of my eyes as I cried out, "H-help... Me... It's itchy.  It itches everywhere."

This... I was informed of this by the doctor. I should’ve taken it seriously since he was correct; all my preconceptions about what he meant when he mentioned "heat"—that it was simply a simple fever—had been debunked.

He shut the door and leaned against it, "What do you want me to do?" he asked. He inserted both hands into his pockets before giving me a grave look. “Do you want me to rub this "thing" inside of you? Where should I scratch you?”

"Inside... Inside me."

"Why will I do that? Even if you're already on your knees, your plea is not enough. I want you to beg for it."

"B-beg?" My jaw dropped at what he said. "Ugh..." Once more, I collapsed to the ground as my body started to tingle and heat up. My body was perspiring, and the combination of electricity coursing through me made me feel as though I was about to combust.

“Yes, woman. Beg me. Beg for it. Say how you want it.”

The lust in his eyes was indescribable, exactly like the first time we shared a bed before Morgan was born, and it's so strong that he could seemingly melt me with one look. No woman could withstand the consuming lust he had.

I gulped before I parted my lips and nervously begged, "A-Alpha Jaxon. Touch me... Ngh! D-devour me, right now—"

I almost lost my breath when he scooped me up in a bride style way. The only things that remained in my memory after my brain went entirely blank were his scorching touches on my skin and his pleasant scent, which was usual yet unique for me. The lavender scent that stole my insanity nine months ago…

I buried my face in his chest as we walked out the door. He also squeezed me harder. I heard Uriel's voice before we really arrived at the location where he intended to take me.

"Alpha, I'm back."

“Uriel, the protection of my son is in your hands. You are aware that your life is not enough to settle everything if something happens to him.”

I didn’t hear Uriel’s answer, I just felt Alpha Jaxon continued to walk again.

Two minutes later, I heard the door squeak and looked up without thinking. The dark space with the drawn curtain became visible to me. But despite the pitch-black surroundings, I couldn't take my eyes off the large bed that could fit the entire family.

“Veronica…” His tickling breath struck my ear down to my neck, which was the reason why my center grew even more wet, as my head began to sink in panic and excitement. He licked the side of my neck, bit it a little, and declared, “Veronica… I won’t let you go this time. Take all my shoots inside of your womb until you beg me to stop. You put this upon yourself. Don’t regret it.”

Along with those lines were his bright crimson eyes that anytime… anywhere would engulf me.
