7: Annabelle

For the first time since I met these Alphas, I felt scared of them.

Eden's hands were bloody as he drove away.

Meshack's mouth tasted like blood when he got back into the car and started kissing me.

Even though I loved his lips, I still pulled back.

"What's wrong?"Meshack asked. "Did you hate the fangs?"

I shook my head, but indeed the fangs are a little bit sharp and uncomfortable. "It's not the fang, Meshack. It's how you people seemed to enjoy the fight"

Hosea who'd been more jovial and lively than he'd ever been answered this time. "You'd soon enjoy what it feels like to decimate your enemies"

"But..."

"This is who we are" Meshack reminded me. "Fights are inevitable for us, get used to it"

I stopped asking then. But I wasn't satisfied with the answer.

Did they like fighting this much or was this just normal?

My mind was only at rest after we got away from the expressway to the lively city.

"Are you still scared?" Hosea asked, staring at me through the rare view mirror. "You look as if a dead body resurrected before you"

"That would have been easier," I confessed my fear at last. "Those guys are dangerous, I couldn't believe you could finish them off"

Seriously I was scared of how dangerous they were and not the other way round. But I mustn't tell them what I really fear, hence I don't know what they might do for real.

Meshack pulled me to himself, his fangs still showing. "You have me here. Pretend nothing happened"

I wish I could but I didn't say anything.

"Why is this place so different? Is this a part of Megaton City?"

Throughout my whole life here in the city, I'd never been to this part before just like I was ignorant of the existence of werewolves.

"This is Dynera Pack. A city ruled by us — the werewolves" Hosea said at last. "Jericho street, which seemed to be near the capital is a part of our land that the human government tried to hijack"

"So you guys made it your street?"

"Exactly"

I felt lost looking at the new world I'd just entered. Tall building with either a moon or wolf symbol, the atmosphere is more daring and conducive than the capital, with less traffic and congestion. If I were told that there's a place ruled by wolves I'd never believe it. Meshack further explained that humans are more than wolves here, and it was still a community Megaton City, but in reality— it was their land.

"No human police must step thier foots here. Humans here learn to abide by our rules and we respect them just as much" he concluded.

"And the hatred?"

"Active as hell" he laughed.

The car rolled into an exquisite giant gate that screams power and elegance.

I gasped, wound down the window just to be able to look and ogle properly.

"W...Where is this?"

"Our place. The Dynera mansion" Hosea answered, killing the car engine.

I couldn't stop the ogle and gasp. This was too good to be true.

Meshack held the car handle for me as I got out of the car, staring at the gigantic building.

'THE DYNERA FAMILY MANOR' was inscribed at the top, and a lot of uniformed servants walked up and down.

It all smelled different, powerful, and addictive. The kind of scent that dignified a place like this.

"Let's go in" Hosea said and took my hand.

Just as we turned to proceed to leave, a bike roared madly in before the gate could close.

It was Eden. No more blood on his hand, his dreadlocks messy but still sexy and hot as he'd always been.

"Heyyy" he said, throwing the key to a servant. "Park it"

He joined us and took my second hand. Together, we matched into the mansion with a black floor and immaculate white walls.

The servants rushed to bow before us as we passed the hallway to the main living room.

The raw power radiating from the guards made me nauseous with fear, but the sight of gold and marble turned it into an obsession.

Soon, we go to the living room screaming with opulence.

"Welcome to our turf, Caro. Love it?" Hosea asked sinking into the sofa with a heavy growl.

I couldn't even find my voice. The living room wasn't a room; it was a cathedral of wealth.

The ceilings were so high they disappeared into shadows, held by pillars of black obsidian.

Everything smelled of expensive sandalwood, aged leather, and power— the kind of scent that only clings to fresh money and young dangerous men.

I felt small — not only as a human but as a person.

"Love?" I giggled, still in a daze of the surroundings. "I'm obsessed!"

I sat down carefully as if the sofa would bite me, but Eden wouldn't let me be.

He pulled me to his lap. "Now that we're here, what else did you need to know before letting us claim you fully?"

I snapped my hand from his gently. "What other claiming do you need? Your mark is enough"

"You have to meet the Royal court" Meshack ventured, his phone slanting again, and his hand moving fast and wild. "A human must not enter here, so we need to explain things to them"

Fear tried to set in again. "Are they scary?"

"They...."

"Alpha Eden!!" A lady interrupted, running into the living room.

She stopped abruptly upon seeing me on his lap, her face sank and she quickly held her nose.

"A....A human in the Dynera Manor?"

I tried getting up quickly, but Eden held me back, throwing his arms around my waist. "Sit still"

"Eden is this what you had to choose?" She released her nose and pointed at me. "This stinking human?"

"Language, Annabelle" Hosea spoke. "Mind that sharp tongue of yours. Remember I hate it"

She looked at Hosea but glanced away quickly like she was really scared.

Faced Eden again. "Eden talk to me! Who is this broken human trash?!"

"Ours" Meshack stood up, locking his phone, coming to our seat. "She's not a thing. She belongs to us. And yes, she's human. So...?"

Annabelle became frustrated. The look in her eyes sent chills down my spine in a way I'd never felt before.

If not for Eden's reassurance, I'd definitely be on my heels, running away now.

"Eden say something!" She cried. "I'm tired of chasing after you and..."

"I never asked you to chase after me" Eden cut her short without courtesy. "Your infatuation with me has to stop, because I've marked this human and will not mark another lady. A wolf or not"

She was shocked. Shocked in a way that her smoky green eyes flashed for a second. "You..." She faced Meshack. "You guys know about this?"

"Did you have an ear problem?" Meshack trolled. "I said she's ours. Three of us!!"

Now her eyes weren't only flashing, her claws and fangs appeared. She lunged at me, but Hosea caught her from behind and held her back.

"Let me scratch this annoying face!" She cried "Alpha Eden must be mine!"

"Not when I hate you as much as I hate morning sun" Hosea said quietly and pushed her aside. "Your father being a Beta doesn't mean you could walk around like a princess!"

Tears traced her cheeks, for a second, I felt her sadness. I know what it feels like to love a man you can't have just like Flynn. Facing Eden, I kissed his cheeks. "This is a brutal rejection. She's really in love"

"Don't interfere in this, Caro. She's getting what she deserved" Meshack touched my cheek.

What does she deserve? I looked at her still sobbing. Is she that bad or what?

She got up still furiously, facing Eden. "Your brothers are the reasons why you can't progress in life! Look at them supporting you to date a human and even..."

"Mind your language, Annabelle!" Eden talked again. '"We're one soul in three bodies, Annabelle. What touches one belongs to all. And she? She's our soul"

"Is this human better than me?" She cried. "Why is Alpha Meshack and Hosea against me!?"

"You're nothing but a gold digger!" Meshack affirmed. "Your corrupt father sent you to seduce Eden for a reason"

"I was different from my father!" She cried "I was real. I just loved him and..."

"That was the reason why you spied on us and told your father about how we're planning to overthrow him?" Eden raised his lips. "Or that was the reason why you cut a strand of my hair for some black magic that never worked"

Hearing this, all the sympathy I felt for her melted and all that was left was hatred. So she was this bad and vicious?

She left without any argument, but before she left, she pointed at me. "I shall personally supervise your tormenting and then you'll realize the kind of shit you walked into"
