Thirty two

April stepped into the abandoned-looking house as cautiously as she could. She checked the room looking for kat, surprised that the place looked deserted. The hairs on the back of her neck stood in dread as she heard a soft murmur. She took a deep breath, heading towards the door where the sound had come from. She pushed it open slowly and stepped in, her gaze darting around the space.

"Well hi, beauty" the voice boomed behind her startling her. She whirled around to face him, realizing at the last moment that Brian had set a trap for her. A hard object collided with her head. The world tilted on its axis, her gaze darkening as her head throbbed in pain. She fell to the floor as the black dots swam around her eyes. She felt his hand on her hair, petting her like she was a dog.

"Finally mine" he murmured darkly.
