Prince Arthur was relieved when he learnt that the monster king was yet to arrive at the dinner because he had overslept because of how exhausted he was from the journey.

After dressing he hurriedly towards the dining hall praying that the king shouldn't be there yet, since it won't be leaving a good impression of him..

Just a few steps and they would be joining other envoys in there, just a few steps.

His steps came to a sudden stop, on seeing the group of people in front of the giant door. His heartbeat immediately dropped on realizing who was at the entrance.

Prince Arthur shielded his sister behind him on seeing the pair of bloody eyes fixed on them.

“She's here!, my mate." The king could feel how excited his beast was over his new founding, but that wasn't the case with him.

He couldn't believe it. After all his efforts to put her to death, his human mate managed to escape. Will he become a cause for laughter to his people?,‘ Zeus, this is your work right?, don't think you've won.’

“Greetings, my king." Someone greeted from behind him, on hearing the familiar voice, calmness was restored back to the king’s eyes and it went back to being green.

“ Greetings, lady Morgana." The guards greeted with a bow, but the lady didn't even bat an eye, her attention was on the king standing in front of her, thus she elegantly took her place behind him.

“Did I keep you waiting for long?" She asked her pair of silver eyes sparkling as she fixed them on his green ones.

Her heart throb loudly in her as the king spares her his enchanting smile. Every little gesture or words from the king were always enough to double her love for him. She would trade anything in her possession just to break his curse. She badly wants to feel his hand on her skin, she badly wants those lips on hers and she knows she's not alone, the king also feels this way towards her but sadly none of them could realize this fantasy of theirs.

Even from where he was standing, Prince Arthur could feel the unspoken affection these people had for each other. Just seeing them lose in own world he couldn't buy the fact that the monster king was madly in love with the great kingdom sorcerer.

Behind him princess Mira, could only breathe as she watched the pair walk into the golden door. Her legs failed her making her stagger forward but thanks to her brother she regained her footing.

“Are you okay?" Arthur panicked on seeing how pale she had become, but she shook her head.

“Don't worry I'm fine."

“Are you certain about that?Would you like to go back and get some rest?."

“I'm really fine, we should better start heading in, we wouldn't want to be the center of attention, do we?.” Even though they went in immediately after Mira made that statement, Arthur still managed to gain the attention of everyone in attendance. Those princes from far kingdoms who only knew about him from rumors and stories, were stupefied by his beauty. But the good news tonight was that he was not alone on this tonight.

Just as the rumors said the supreme king possessed an unearthly beauty just like him.

Arthur bowed to the supreme King before taking a seat.

The dinner was an awkward one, since the supreme King was unusually calm and only spoke when the sorcerer beside him said something.

This was never Xerxes plan for calling this meeting, he wanted to address this people but his beast was on the edge awaiting the right time to take control.

He couldn't risk it since they were humans in their midst, not to mention how much the beast disapproves of his relationship with lady Morgana. Every now and then he kept looking at the maid behind the prince of DeHaven, how can he be punished this way, even if he were to accept a human mate shouldn't she at least be born of a royal blood? What was he supposed to do with a servant, a low life.

∆∆∆∆∆

That night Arthur couldn't get a wink of sleep, he was rolling and turning restlessly on the bed.

Different thoughts running through his mind. The welcome party ended so awkwardly, because the king was not in a good mood, but he couldn't forget how the king's eyes were all over his sister, it was as if he would pounce on her at the slightest provocation.

‘ I should have known bringing her here wasn't a good idea, how will I protect her if the supreme King picks interest in her.’

While Arthur was restlessly rolling on his bed.

In the room assigned to the maids, something strange was going on.

Xerxes couldn't believe he's doing this, how could he stub so low as to sneak into a maids room.

But he has suppressed the beast for so long, that he could no longer do so.

The beast made his way into the maids room, without attracting unnecessary attention.

He stood on the bed side watching the young maiden sleep with little clothing covering her privates.

No doubt she's a beauty, but he can't accept her, he will have to do something about her before the news goes out.

He stretched out his hand to move her so that he could search for the only thing that would confirm her as his mate but surprisingly just like any other woman he couldn't lay his hand on her.

“ What's going on?!" Xerxes ask from within on feeling the powerful electric jolt his fingers released on getting contact with the maid.

If he were to be a little slow that jolt would have caused the girl her life.

“ Strange."

“Strange?! You almost caused someone her life and all I could say was strange.” Xerxes was partly happy but more angry at his beast, what if he didn't step?.

“ I clearly felt her presence and I'm sure you also did." The beast snapped at him.

He couldn't be wrong, he could feel his mate's presence, this was a feeling he has never felt before, so why can't he touch her?, why?!, what went wrong?!. The beast was confused and so was Xerxes.

“Or?, could it be?"

“Could it be what?!."

“Maybe it's the prince?"

Xerxes almost pass out on hearing what his beast has to say, without being told twice he disappeared from the room.
