Chapter Seventy-nine

Bridgette sighed and leaned against the porch railing. Her mind was swimming with many thoughts as she tried to get in the right frame of mind. At this point she was just hoping that all of this madness would be over with.

“What’s on your mind?” Kane asked, coming to stand next to her.

“I just want all of this to be over with.” She whispered, looking out into the afternoon sky. 

‘I know.” Kane said, sitting on the porch steps. 

“Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep after this.” She whispered. “Once this is all over I might take a vacation.” 

Kane chuckled. He could understand how she felt.  She had been dealing with this for years. There was finally a light at the end of the tunnel for  her.
