"Can you trust me with this, Giselle?" I tried to convince her for the umpteenth time.

"Why don't you just go ahead and do whatever you want to do?" She replied. "Why are you even asking me? Why does my opinion even count?"

"Because you are my wife!" I said with a harsh whisper. "And if you are not happy about something I cannot go ahead and do it."

"Really?" She said with a gasp and mock shock. "So why are you trying to convince me out of my feelings?"

"I care about your feelings, and I respect them, but I am also trying to communicate how I feel in the best way. I cannot just decide not to attend the meeting with no tangible reason, and you know this is not just any kind of meeting."

She sighed and her face folded sadly.

"Now, you are making me feel selfish because I don't want you to go, but the thing is, I just don't feel right about this. I don't want you to go. I don't want you to leave me."
