Sebastian

I thought now was going to be different. She promised she had finally changed—and I was dumb enough to believe her.

All I got in return for loving Olivia was her running back to Phillip after stealing from me. We were supposed to be a team. I thought we finally had that connection. Boy, was I wrong.

My vodka burned my throat as I slouched on the bar, elbows leaning on the countertop, shoulders heavy like the world had been shoved on top of them. So many thoughts ran through my head—each one more bitter than the last, slicing through the buzz the alcohol failed to blur.

The dim lights flickered above me, casting golden shadows on the bottles lining the shelves. Even they seemed to mock me.

I heard footsteps coming from behind me.

“Go away, Olivia.”

I kept my gaze on the glass, even though every fibre of my being screamed at me to turn around.

“So you can’t even look at me, Sebastian?” Her voice was thick from crying, raw, broken. It stabbed me right in the chest.

“No, I can’

Kaylee What in the actual hell was I seeing?I froze, eyes locked on the TV screen as Sebastian’s name blared across the headlines—fraud. The anchor’s voice sliced through me like cold water down my spine. Sebastian Lancaster, exposed, dissected, dragged. My stomach turned. This had Philip written all over it.But this… this wasn’t the plan. We’d talked about targeting his finances—bleeding him dry behind the scenes. Not blasting him on national freaking television. What the hell was he thinking?Fumbling for my phone, I called Philip. Once. Twice. Voicemail. Again. Still nothing. “Goddammit!” I hissed, pacing the room, heart clawing against my ribs.I didn’t bother thinking—I just threw on the first thing I could find and flew out of my apartment. He better have a damn good reason for this stunt. Because if this was some deranged revenge fantasy, then he’d crossed a line.I knew Philip hated Sebastian. I knew. But I never imagined he’d go nuclear. Not like this. Not with my name tan

PhillipI stepped up to the receptionist’s desk with a casual smile.“I’m here to see Miss Sinclair. Is she in?”“Yes, sir,” she said politely. “You can take the elevator. Her office is on the fifth floor.”The Sinclair Group was even more massive than I expected—a sleek, towering monument of glass and ego, humming with quiet power. But not much could impress me these days. Hands tucked into the pockets of my tailored trousers, I strolled into the elevator like I owned it. By the time I reached the fifth floor, my game face was locked in. Calm, cold, composed. Alice was no lightweight—she was a force, a shark in designer heels. Her name stirred whispers in Manhattan’s elite circles. For a woman to carve out this kind of dominance in real estate? Even I had to give a nod of respect.I knocked once, then pushed the office door open. She stood with her back to me, gazing out of a floor-to-ceiling window that offered a breathtaking view of the city. Her silhouette? Even more breathtaki

OliviaThe city stretched below us, a blur of glowing lights through the airplane window. We were finally back in New York.I pressed my forehead against the glass, watching as the clouds thinned and the skyline came into view. Something in me ached.I didn’t want to leave China. I wasn’t ready for all the noise that came with home.Sebastian sat beside me, quiet. He didn’t have to say anything—I knew he didn’t want to leave either, but work was calling, and people had been practically clawing at him for days.On my end, the masked model buzz alone had stirred up more noise than i expected. As much as I wanted to pretend we weren’t living in this circus, we were. And the ringmaster was calling. The jet touched down, and of course—rain. Heavy and loud, slamming against the tarmac like some kind of dramatic welcome back. Our driver was already waiting. We slid into the car, and it carried us through Manhattan’s storm-soaked streets. We finally reached home. The mansion stood tall and

Sebastian I slammed my fist back on the desk, biting down the curse crawling up my throat. They'd called again. For the fourth damn time today.“I said I’m on vacation. Whatever it is, fix it yourselves,” I muttered into the phone, my tone clipped. I didn’t wait for a response before ending the call. The line had barely gone dead when Olivia walked out of the bathroom, barefoot, wrapped in nothing but a fluffy white robe. "Everything okay?" she asked, towel-drying her hair as she studied my face.I leaned back against the wall, jaw tight. “Just work. Nothing urgent.”She studied me, then stepped closer. “Sebastian… I know how much you care about the company so maybe it’s time we headed back to New York? As much as I’ve loved being here with you, this place is starting to feel… off.”Her voice was calm, but I could hear it—that quiet unease humming beneath her words.I let out a slow breath, dragging a hand down my face. “You sure about that?”She nodded gently. “Yeah. I’m sure.”

OliviaWe were back inside the museum, but my head was somewhere else entirely. The tour guide was talking, moving us through the exhibits, but I couldn’t focus on a single word. Her lips moved, but to me, it was all background noise—like a distant radio I couldn’t tune into.My mind kept circling back to that old woman’s voice. Her warning. Her eyes. It didn’t matter how hard I tried to shake it off—it clung to me like wet clothes. The museum itself was massive—towering ceilings, endless hallways filled with priceless art and towering sculptures. Floor after floor of masterpieces I couldn’t name. And even though I never really cared much about art, I had to admit... the place was stunning.Sebastian, of course, was totally in his element. Eyes lit up, taking in every detail, completely absorbed. He always had a soft spot for art—he appreciated beauty in a way I never quite understood.By the time we reached the highest floor—God, it had to be thirty stories up—I quietly broke off fro

  • Dear Husband, My Turn To Love You    Chapter 70

OliviaThere was a full day ahead of us, and I ended up practically yanking Sebastian along as we stepped out of the hotel lobby.I was buzzing with excitement—he, on the other hand, played the chill, composed tour guide, while I was the over-eager explorer, ready to devour everything in sight. China had a million things to see, and I was hellbent on seeing them all.We made our way into a bustling local market, and the moment we stepped in, it was like walking into another world—colors everywhere, food sizzling in open pans, and people shouting over each other in rapid Mandarin. My senses were overwhelmed, and I loved every second of it.Sebastian, on the other hand, looked like he’d just walked into his second home.He started chatting with the vendors, his tone smooth and confident as he spoke perfect Mandarin. Like, flawless. I blinked, watching him switch from haggling over dumplings to joking with a granny selling sesame buns like he’d known her for years.Meanwhile, I was out h
