I got to practice on time, luckily for me, so I didn't have to run laps again. My phone chimed in my pocket and I brought it out eagerly thinking it's Genie who had texted me.

I fucked up and shouldn't be expecting her texts but I can only hope. I don't want to skip any chance.

I furrowed my brows when I saw the name on the screen.

I wanted to ignore it, toss my phone aside and forget I ever got the message but I decided not to, knowing he won't let me off the hook easily. I swipe my hand across the screen to access the full message.

Dad: Be home early, we're going to have a family discussion and I want you to be there.

The message read and I hissed.

I could only think of what family gathering he wanted to talk about this time. Ever since he has been with Sophia, Genie's mom he has been more frequently at home.

The father I know leaves home early and comes back whenever he desires only to come back and stay for a short period. But now, the story has changed.
