Chapter 05

Opening his eyes the first thing Soren felt was the immense brightness, it hits the eyes, blinding his vision. He close his eyes feeling the sting.

Adjusting to the light he notice the ceiling, white stainless. Completely different from of his room. The smell, It's kinda filled with medicine and toxin. His stomach churn.

The school infirmary or pack hospital He suppose. He heard faint whispered one Maria, he couldn't mistook her voice. Other he don't recognised. Probably the doctor?

" Babe. Stop blaming yourself now . . hm. . Look! He's fine." The unknown voice resoure Maria.

He is glad whoever is. . . .

Wait! . . WHAT!! . . BABE!!!!"since when the doctor's become so perverted."Why is he calling her babe!"

He tried to get up that got their attention.

Maria immediately stride towards him , supporting his weight, to make him sit properly.

"SOREN, you're up . . thanks goodness! Zen call the doctor QUICKLY ." The guy called Zen left stumbling.

So he isn't the doctor!

The word room felt suffocating for Soren. The smell of antibiotics, and herbal medicine filled the air.

A uncomfortable silence fell in the room , making the atmosphere more insufficient. Maria. Who could never stay quiet,now sat there with her head low, lips sealed. A guilty expression painted her face.

Soren nudged her softly, trying to get any reaction out of her , yet she stayed silent.

Her silence is killing him.

Soren sigh feeling a bit frustrated. He know she blame herself for whatever happened to him.

He could understand her.

" I'm. . I'm sorry." There she goes. "If i haven't force you. . " her words crack. She took a harsh gulp until her thorat hurts, her tear start falling, making Soren panic.

This kind of moment where Soren feel most useless, for not able to comfort her. He cursed himself inwardly for being so use less.

He lean close to her, gesturing in sign language. He tried his hard to make her understand his point, how it's not her fault. She didn't catch any of his offering.

Not knowing what else to do, he take her in his arm, hugging her tightly. Time to time wiping her tears with gentle care . The only way off resource he could provide to calm her down now.

They stayed like this, until Maria completely gather herself together. He ignore the change of her pheromone. For now.

They're moment got interrupt by a loud growl. Both Soren and Maria flinched at their places. Zen stood at the gate glaring daggers at Soren. A female doctor right beside him shivering by that growl.

Her expression terrified.

Maria snatch away from the hug, standing up abruptly. Colour drained from her face.

"Zen. . I . I can explain!"

"Get your control back first, You're scaring him," Maria spoke, her voice still shaking by the roar. As if the guy got his senses back, he calm down, muttering sorry again and again.

Soren confused by the act looked at Maria. His looks demand an explanation. but the doctor interrupt them, asking questions.

Soren completely forgot the guy -Zen till then.

SOREN POV:

The pack house of "Crystal Snow Pack" has become a chaotic venue. The pack Omega's all running around busy with decorations. The Alpha's busy with budget counting, betas on duty. The pack Luna barking orders here and there, about what and how to do things.

"This one goes there. . put that on the ceiling ." She is making sure not to lack in anything.

"The Blood Moon Pack's Alpha is coming to fix his son's engegment today. I think They will marry them of soon." Maria sitting next to me shere the information, The information i know about.

"That's really wrong don't you think, the elder should let them find their mate first, and ain't everyone deserves to marry their own mate? she questioned.

Yet . . look at them! Just for the packs treaty they had to sacrifice their children." She scoff.

"Good thing I'm not the doughter off pack leader," her bubbling didn't stop. She nag fidging with the decorative items.

The news still fresh in my mind. " Right, the engagement .

Luciano and Sofia, and today is the day Im about to witness my mate getting engaged with the daughter of my Pack leader.

What can be more worse than this .

My mood sour, just by the thought. As if Maria sence something wrong by my expectations, she suspiciously asked,"You look really upset. Did something happen, has anyone bully you?"

I can't really tell the truth. Not yet.

"You got mate, and you didn't bother telling me, even once! I thought we're friends! i asked by hand gesture.

Maria buying my lie start explaining, how she wanted to suprised me. I pretend to be hurt, just to get my mind off of him.

Maria is right this is wrong. He is not even at the ege yet, and maybe that's why they wanted to wed them off.

Yet it's not surprising they were to marry oneday anyways. But maybe not so soon. I didn't accepted this.

" You both. . stop slacking and finish them before down. " The luna point us out. making Maria shut her mouth at once, and hurried up.

I felt anger at Sofia for getting my mate as her own , and she is delighted about that, but more anger towards my own mate. He accepted the marriage knowing very well somewhere out there his mate is waiting for him.

Even if my claim feel lie to him! even he doesn't acknowledge me! still shouldn't he be curious about his future mate. Shouldn't he wait for his mate.
